Legendary FBI Detective-Chapter 829 - 831: Stone Processing Plant
9 PM, Special Investigation Team Office Area.
"The simulated image is ready!"
Mona's extremely excited words instantly drew everyone's attention.
Several people quickly moved to gather around Mona's computer, focusing intently as Mona tapped on the keyboard to retrieve the information.
The person in the simulated image was a male, with high cheekbones and deep eye sockets, very clearly of Caucasian descent, appearing to be between thirty and forty years old.
"I found it."
Within a few minutes, Mona had pulled up the individual's identity information and loudly introduced:
"Campbell Hank, 37 years old, unemployed, had previously been imprisoned for using and selling drugs, currently rents an apartment in New York."
"Good."
Chenier and Reesi immediately smiled, Winslow rubbed his hands in anticipation, Luo An patted Mona on the shoulder and asked,
"Is this guy still in New York now?"
"Let me check."
Mona tapped on the keyboard again to investigate the individual's status, while Luo An gestured for Winslow, Chenier, and Reesi to go prepare their gear, ready to set off as soon as the individual's whereabouts were confirmed.
Winslow and the others quickly turned and left the office area. As Luo An was about to head back to the team leader's office to grab something, Mona's expression suddenly changed. She turned and grabbed Luo An's arm, saying in a deep voice,
"Luo An, surveillance footage from an hour ago on a highway in northern New York captured Campbell Hank driving out of New York.
In his car, there was a man in the front passenger seat, but his face was obscured, and I couldn't determine his identity.
Moreover, less than twenty minutes after Campbell Hank and that man left New York by car, two more cars quickly followed their route. I have a feeling these people might not have good intentions."
"I tried checking out the guys tracking Campbell."
As soon as Mona finished speaking, Michelle, who had been providing assistance beside her, quickly added,
"Those two cars were both from a New York parking lot, vehicles that hadn't been used in a long time, most likely stolen by picking the locks.
A total of eight people, all with intentionally obscured faces, I can't find out who they are."
"Looks like they came prepared."
Luo An nodded, signaling Mona and Michelle to continue tracking Campbell. Winslow and the others were soon ready; Luo An strapped on his weapon as he quickly descended the stairs, taking out his phone to call the SWAT operations team:
"Hello, this is the Special Investigation Team, I'm Luo An Greenwood..."
After a few simple words explaining the situation to the SWAT team at the New York Branch, Winslow, Chenier, Luo An, and Reesi drove to an airport in Northern Washington D.C. belonging to the FBI, boarded a helicopter, and swiftly headed towards New York.
At 10 PM, Luo An and his team successfully rendezvoused with a SWAT operations team on a highway in northern New York, under the guidance of Mona, rapidly drove towards the direction where Campbell and his group were headed.
In northern New York City, New York State Katskill City, Luo An's group had just arrived when Mona's voice echoed through the communicator:
"Luo An, just five minutes ago, the Katskill City police received a report of a fierce gunfight happening in the western part of the city.
There aren't many surveillance devices in that area, so I can't track the details, but based on Campbell and his group's forward route, it's highly likely that the gunfight involves them and that group of mysterious people!"
"OK, we're heading over now."
Turning off the communicator, Luo An immediately turned the steering wheel, driving in the direction the caller mentioned.
The group quickly arrived at the gunfight location, which was a stone processing plant bustling during the day but deserted at night except for security.
At the factory entrance, a police car with flashing red and blue lights was parked on the roadside, a patrol officer holding a gun was standing guard while another was providing emergency treatment to a middle-aged man lying on the ground.
From the clothes on the middle-aged man, it looked like he was a security guard for this stone processing plant.
"Who are you people?"
"FBI!"
Taking out the FBI golden badge and tossing it to the tense patrol officer, Luo An patted Reesi on the shoulder, signaling her to get the medical kit to help treat the security personnel's injuries, then asked,
"What's the situation inside the factory now?"
"Sorry, I'm not sure."
The patrol officer returned the golden badge to Luo An, exhaling slightly as he explained that he and his colleague had just arrived here.
Before losing consciousness, the security personnel reported many enemies, combined with the Katskill City police reporting three vehicles involved between the gunfight parties, so the two patrol officers decisively chose to "surround but not attack," planning to check the situation only after the gunfight concluded.
Luo An wasn't surprised by this; federal police are contract workers with just a modest monthly salary, so there's no need to risk their lives against enemies.
Without expressing any opinion on the two patrol officers' approach, a simple inquiry confirmed Campbell and his group had just entered the factory not long ago and hadn't left when Luo An signaled, leading Winslow and the fully armed SWAT team to start their infiltration mission.
Following the tire tracks on the ground, the group silently advanced towards a particular factory building to the west. Rounding a large pile of stone materials, a Buick and two Fords suddenly appeared before them.
Bang!
Suddenly, a brief gunshot resounded from inside the factory building, Luo An's eyes shifted as he silently gestured. Seeing and understanding, Winslow nodded, and the two of them began to lead several SWAT members from both directions around the factory.
Luo An, Chenier, and four SWAT members advanced from the right side effortlessly and silently, quickly reaching the factory gate.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Bang bang bang—
Luo An was just getting ready to lead his team into the factory when sudden violent gunfire erupted from the other side of the factory. Winslow's shout immediately came through the communicator,
"We've located the enemies! They've also discovered us! There are eight of them in total, heavily armed!"
Luo An immediately abandoned the original plan, kicking open the factory door and rushing inside while ordering,
"Surround them from both sides, be cautious!"
"Understood!"
Chenier and the SWAT members followed closely behind as Luo An led them quickly around some mechanical equipment and stone materials. Chenier jumped over a stone, just about to advance further when Luo An suddenly reached out, grabbed her arm, and pulled her down.
Boom!
Crash—
The next second, a grenade flew out from not far away, instantly blowing the stone that Chenier was about to move towards into pieces. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
"Shit!"
Seeing this, Chenier's expression looked unpleasant while she gratefully gazed at Luo An. Luo An merely gestured dismissively without saying much, then reached out to grab two grenades from Chenier's belt and threw them towards another spot not far ahead.
"Fu-k! Get out of here fast!"
"Damn it! How does this guy know we're here?!"
Behind some mechanical equipment, two Caucasian men in tracksuits had their expressions change drastically. Swearing as they quickly rolled away from the spot.
Boom! Boom!
Two grenades exploded thunderously, one of the Caucasians, who was a bit slower, getting his leg injured and falling to the ground.
The Caucasian man was furious, just about to get up when his peripheral vision caught sight of two more grenades flying towards him.
"Mother-Fu..."
Boom! Boom!
Deafening explosions sounded, and in an instant, of the two Caucasian men, only one was left, and the survivor fell back in shock.
"Enough!"
Just as Luo An was about to throw another grenade, an angry shout boomed inside the factory,
"Stop right there! Or I'll kill this guy!"
