"Daryl called me just after you disconnected his call. He told me how infuriated he was by your behavior and how he wanted an apology. I couldn’t do that so I rejected the notion and told him to stand by for a few days until I talk to you. That’s when he flipped completely, asking me if he could talk to you again, only this time more properly."

Lucas couldn’t help but get in his own thoughts, the fact that his impulsive behavior had changed the guy was a newly found knowledge and skill for him.

"As I said before, I couldn’t have let him talk to me like that. I am not an individual now, but a leader of this whole territory and the owner of the shelter. I can’t let others move over me while I ignore and go on."

John was surprised when he looked at Lucas’s eyes, all this time, Lucas’s eyes would darken which would tell them that he was fighting with the corruption inside again.

Yet this time, his eyes were flashing with determination with an inkling of positiveness.

"Well said, I respect your decision, Leader." John nodded to him in respect and soon the topic was over.

Now the trio was in Lucas’s workshop completing the preparations so that the manufacturing could start quickly.

"I am happy that you didn’t try to punch your way into making the bones into powder."

"Hey, I am crazy. But not that much. Anyways, Jerry, you can activate your skill now."

"Already ready." Jimmy clenched his fists and soon, lines of Grey moved all around his body until his whole body was Grey as if he was made of stone.

"What do I do now? You should know that I can only hold this sill for a few minutes."

"More than sufficient, just punch or like put pressure on the leather piece until everything becomes dust."

"Hm"

BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG!!! BANG!!!

Lucas was surprised with how fast Jerry was going, one punch after the other while he was crouched which made him imagine a gorilla doing the same on its chest.

BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG

He continued with it for a minute without stopping, a very efficient procedure when it came to comparing him with tools that they possessed.

"Stop Jerry."

Jerry got up from his frantic punching and not a single sweat formed on his greish body.

Lucas acknowledged the fact that there were no wounds on his hands.

Lucas got down and pulled the leather piece open, a smile formed on his face when he saw all the greyish powder with many small chunks in it.

"A job well done, my friend. With this much, I can finally start with the first batch."

"I can still see many pieces that are not powder yet. Don’t you want to have it properly become powder?"

"There is no need. This much of a small bone chunk can be dealt with. Now comes the first procedure. We will use the furnace for the first time today!"

Lucas looked at the big furnace at the center of the wall and his heart perked up in excitement.

The other two in the workstation were also feeling the same emotions, only a little weaker than Lucas.

Lucas took a lot of twigs and dried leaves that he used for lighting up the Dakota fire pit and placed them all inside the big furnace.

There was a button right in the middle that was daring Lucas to touch it all this time. He had done it before out of curiosity and it was the most baffling thing he had ever seen.

"Would you do the owners, Uncle John?"

"Much appreciated." John was going to go press it yet he felt a tug from the back.

"I hammered it so I will press the damn button!" He shouted and pressed it quickly. Experience more tales on novelbuddy

Lucas could only shake his head with a chuckle seeing the man all hyped up over a single button pressing. In his heart, he could have related to him.

Soon, flames burst inside the furnace on their own from the bottom and the walls. At first, they were mild yet Lucas could feel the hotness of the burst of flames that was coming out of the furnace.

"It’s a pity there isn’t any way to control the temperature of the flames," Lucas said with a sigh.

"You’re asking too much. Even getting this is a gift from god."

"Gift from god? Just like those hellhounds god sent toward us?"

"It’s just a saying, Lucas."

The trio was quiet when they looked at the twigs and leaves getting burned.

"This is so interesting, the furnace is so close yet we don’t smell smoke to the degree it was meant. Even the heat coming out isn’t much."

Lucas smiled yet didn’t say anything. The furnace was good, and even the whole workstation that was letting them make things above their proficiencies was good.

The whole shelter was a privilege that literally felt to be god sent.

"By the way, have your father taken the individual quest?"

Lucas shook his head to John’s question yet there was still concern on his face.

"That old man just wants to keep getting strong, it is like a disease he had way before we came here or even before I was born. I tell you, it won’t be long before he starts that quest."

"If he passes… don’t you think it will be better for your mother? She will be safer than before. Whatever these jobs and classes are that the guardian of the dungeon talked about and the quest, they seem to play a vital role ahead."

"I guess so… then when are you thinking of taking the quest?" Lucas asked with curiosity.

"Not right now… we have to first make things stable in the territory. I am thinking of doing it before people start coming in."

"Oh right, have to do it before them huh... I haven’t checked if some have come here these hours. Wait a second."

Lucas opened the hologram again which told him about the many
