Legendary Traveler: By Earning Progress Points I will Become Supreme!-Chapter 163: Registration, Examination, Results (8)
Around an hour later, the second Test, which Tristian had administered, was completed, and when compared to Mark’s, it was relatively simple.
All Aoni needed to do was fortify the Work gloves, plate them with some armor, aka Insect Carapace, and transform the gloves into functional Armored Gloves.
Simple as it sounds, in reality, with the limited amount of supplies on hand, even if he had the proper tools, it was time-consuming and, frankly, a bit annoying considering his AN kept requiring multiple convoluted steps.
Regardless, Aoni persisted until he finally reached his end goal, inspecting them, handing over the newly upgraded gloves, and dropping them back to the ground to meditate.
"This is strange…" Tristian said while peeking at the young man who appeared fully focused on gathering Energia and resting.
"I agree. It would be one thing to start from the ground up to create armor, yet it was almost as if the young man assumed his tests revolved around a singular item." Maevis noted while running her finger along the circular pieces of carapace coating the glove’s knuckles.
"According to his school records, his grades were subpar, barely breaking the class average, yet he somehow has enough knowledge to surmise that we would be building up off one item for his test."

Maevis’s eyes drifted down toward the updated items information, causing her to frown slightly. It all seemed far too obvious to be a coincidence, yet the proof sat before her: a pair of gloves that had been upgraded, even the name of which was a variation on the first form of them.
Having seen how he acted after each Test, her original plan was tossed out the window. Now, she intended to combine the expertise of all three examiners and have Aoni craft a singular item that acted not only as armor but also as a weapon. Enjoy new tales from novelbuddy
It was supposed to be a challenge, yet apart from being a bit tired and needing some time for recovery after each Test, Aoni was aceing it with flying colors and had even crafted a fairly decent low-tier piece of equipment.
As a skeptical person by nature, Maevis wanted to believe the kid was playing her; however, when she thought back to how he’d acted from the moment he walked in, the idea didn’t seem to fit.
From his body posture to the polite tone in his speaking with them, everything screamed innocence. Yet, that very sentiment directly contrasted the beastly Aura he’d emitted upon exiting the Flume.
"The gloves are inconsequential, but seeing how easily he was able to work with the materials so far, I almost want to change the final test." After quite a bit of deliberation, Maevis finally spoke up, drawing concerned looks from her peers.
"How so? It’s pretty out of the ordinary for you to stray from established guidelines; Mark’s and my tests generally coincide; however, if you are added into the mix, it’s supposed to be a second item." Massaging his bald head, Tristian shot a weary look toward Mark that said volumes.
He knew Maevis well enough to understand she was about to push this poor young man too far. As it stood, he should have already passed the exam by simply crafting the original form of the gloves; however, he had exceeded expectations by fulfilling the second, and now, there wasn’t a shred of doubt in his mind that the woman was about to push the limits with her next action.
"We move forward with the gloves; I won’t have him craft a secondary weapon; instead, we shall see if he is able to transform this pair into a weapon on their own.
"WHAT!" Pushing back in his chair, Mark slammed his hands on the table.
"Why are you yelling? We have already seen he is fully capable of manipulating resources and using his Attribute to mold an item he’s crafted into a new one; there is no reason he shouldn’t be able to add the key stats along with some attack measures into these gloves." Reaching over and exerting some force, Maevis calmly pulled Mark back into his seat and shot him a glare.
While all of this was going on, Aoni was deep in thought since it didn’t actually cost him anything apart from time and a bit of mental fatigue to craft the gloves; his entire focus had been on the Examiner’s conversation.
’Why do I feel like I’ve accidentally kicked a hornet’s nest by listening to that damn chatbox.’ Resigning himself to fate since he could easily be squashed like a bug by these examiners if he showed any hint of hostility or disobedience, Aoni slowly exhaled and acted as if he was coming out of his meditation.
"It seems you’re ready to move on to the next test." Breaking out of their conversation, the examiners all observed the physical state Aoni was in before Mark and Tristian gave him hidden looks of pity.
"Now, originally, the plan was to have you craft a weapon in which I would give a score; however, there is a slight issue with doing so." Pausing and waving her hand, the gloves instantly appeared on the workbench, causing Mark and Tristian to sigh heavily before listening in.
"If we take into consideration the fact that you are extremely limited in the sense of resources, asking you to craft something like a sword or even a dagger would be out of the question; you could potentially create a hatchet, maybe, if you used the available stone, however, I have decided to amend the standard procedure and offer you a chance at proving yourself."
"Proving myself?" Aoni didn’t know why, but when he heard those words, he felt a chill run through his body, as if he were being looked at as prey.

"Indeed, the final Test of this phase will be turning those gloves into weapons. I don’t care what shape they become, but you are to give them the Attack Stat; anything more than that will be a bonus. If you succeed, well, I will allow you to come under my wing."
"HUH?" Mark screamed while jumping to his feet.
"WHAT?" Tristian wasn’t much better; he’d been completely blindsided.
’This ain’t good,’ unlike the two Examiners, Aoni groaned in misery because things had just gotten a lot more complicated than he wanted.
