Chapter 879: Returning from a Business Outreach

However, it seemed Gu Huanhuan had underestimated the situation, thinking it wouldn’t be a big deal. It wasn’t until filming started that she realized just how much of a “flower vase” Qin Wan’er truly was.

Qin Wan’er lacked experience and her performance was hollow, relying solely on her looks. She had no emotional depth in her acting, which did not meet Director Zheng’s high standards. Often, a single shot required several retakes, causing much frustration among the crew.

Gu Huanhuan initially had two scenes with Qin Wan’er and expected to finish early, but ended up shooting for the entire day.

Feeling utterly drained, Gu Huanhuan dragged herself home, not wanting to move a muscle. In her long career, she had never felt this exhausted from filming.

Previously, she could quickly get into character with the guidance of experienced actors. She had always strived to improve her acting skills, never disappointing her audience.

Even when working with newcomers, she was patient. But Qin Wan’er was different—there was no emotional connection in her acting, making it feel empty.

Gu Huanhuan collapsed on the sofa and closed her eyes.

Suddenly, she noticed something odd. When she entered, the living room lights were on.

Now she could faintly hear water running in the bathroom. She had a feeling and walked to the bedroom, where she spotted Wen Chi’s suitcase.

He had returned, probably wanting to surprise her without letting her know.

Pretending to be unaware, she lay back on the sofa.

After a while, Wen Chi emerged from the bathroom and saw her on the sofa.

He walked over and kissed her on the lips.

Gu Huanhuan opened her eyes suddenly, and Wen Chi smiled, lifting her up.

“I thought you were filming at a location out of town. I was planning to go find you after unpacking.”

“I’ll be filming some exterior scenes in a few days. Luckily, you’re back,” Gu Huanhuan explained. “Why didn’t you tell me you were coming back?”

“I just arrived. I didn’t want to trouble you,” Wen Chi said, stroking her hair.

“This film will take about three months to shoot, prioritizing my scenes,” Gu Huanhuan explained. She planned to take a break after this project, feeling she had been working too hard without a break.

In the following months, Gu Huanhuan was busy filming, while Wen Chi was occupied with seminars and meetings at the hospital.

Time flew by, and before they knew it, three months had passed.

With only the final scenes left to shoot, Gu Huanhuan took a brief day off at home before heading back to the set. frёewebηovel.cѳm

Since the start of filming, her days had been hectic and intense. She had become accustomed to the pace, but in the final days, it became overwhelming.

She had less than eight hours of sleep each night. Though she used to be able to handle it, now she felt constantly exhausted, longing to stay in bed all day.

Previously, she had experienced a similar period of extreme fatigue, but had managed to adjust during filming.

Now, as the project neared completion, the exhaustion returned.

As soon as she got into the car, Gu Huanhuan closed her eyes to nap. Her assistant noticed and said worriedly, “Sister Huanhuan, have you not been resting well lately? You seem very tired, and your scenes haven’t been that demanding recently. Should you take a few days off and let others film first?”

“It’s fine, just a few more days. We can’t delay filming over this,” Gu Huanhuan said without opening her eyes. She was a dedicated actress.

“But you look so…” The assistant was still concerned.

“We’ll be done soon. Don’t worry, I’ll rest well then, sleep until I’m completely recharged,” Gu Huanhuan joked.
