LEVEL 0 IMMORTAL-Chapter 50: The Power of Titles
This next section of his Status Screen finally showed Elias all the reasons he had gained so many points in all of his Attributes, and he wished to slap his previous self for saying he wanted another Talent because he thought Darkness Manipulation or Flame Control was better.
If what he was seeing was correct, the Assimilation of the Divine Fragment had upgraded his body, but it seemed his talent of Extreme Adaptation was ultimately responsible for much of the growth he was getting.
He wanted to skim over to the section that outlined his talent, but Elias forced himself to read slowly and not rush through everything. This was important to him as true power came from complete understanding.
Elias’s strength, which was previously at 14, was now at 87; he gained 73 points in that Attribute, and it was the lowest of all his Attributes, and he thought that perhaps it might have been much lower if not for the Pillar of Sorrow he had absorbed into his body, which seemed to have been the chief contributor to his strength.
If his Extreme Adaptation Talent worked as he speculated it did, then the growth in his Attributes reflected his actions, and the past few days, he had just been focused on survival, and it was no mystery why his strength had grown the least.
Elias was considering that he was getting spoiled due to the massive influx of growth he was getting across all of his Attributes, and if he was to measure his growth as if he had a normal talent, then he was a Level 2 Fury Forge.
However, Elias noticed that his strength did not come with any extra unique Traits, and wondered if it was because he had less than a hundred points in it.
His Agility no longer had Nimble fingers as it seemed to have evolved to Heightened Reflex, and his Durability no longer had Infant Regen after it evolved to Unyielding Flesh.
Elias smiled and looked at his body. If he was a child before, now he is a man. He would no longer look up at the Commander; he should be a bit taller than her. He knew time flowed faster inside the Fragment of Divinity, and wondered what the reaction would be from those who saw him enter a child and emerge as an Angel. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
He had been sheltered from the true nature of existence for so long, and Elias understood that when he left the Fragment, everything would begin to happen all at once, and this chance he had where he could slowly go through his status without interference, may not last forever.
Looking past his Agility and Durability, he observed his perception had leaped forward to 142 from 31, gaining 111 points of Perception. It was no surprise that his senses felt so clear and refined, and he could see that the Supernatural Detail Obsession had evolved into Divine Acuity.
His perception had been one of the greatest reasons for his survival. From the first unknown missile shot at him by the mutated statues to surviving the horrifying traps in the tunnel. For it to have increased so much and even had its accompanying trait evolve into Divine Acuity was one of the best pieces of news he had received for a while.
Elias knew that he was barely using his new senses, but he had an almost supernatural knowledge of his surroundings for around thirty meters around him, and that was the reason he could spend so much time with his eyes closed without worrying if he was going to be ambushed.
If he had these senses in the passage filled with the living statues of the Ascendant, then he would not lose his left hand so easily, and he wondered how he would fare against those statues.
With all of these points in his Perception, Elias could call himself a Level 4 Fury Forge with all one hundred of his Lumina Pools opened.
With his analytical mind, Elias understood that he was going to begin making these distinctions early enough for the moment he left this place. With all the secrets surrounding him, there must be those he must be willing to reveal in order to hide the ones he did not want to get out.
He did not know the full implications of having all hundred of his Lumina Pools open, but he was sure that it could not exceed having Pools that could be considered infinite.
Elias did not want to be unknown. If he had power, he wanted to use it because he had seen what happened to those who fell into the cracks of society. He knew that being acknowledged as special came with its own challenges, but Elias wanted those challenges.
With his Talent, he was not surprised that his greatest growth fell under his Will, which had grown from 28 all the way to 158, a surge of 130 points. Previously, his Perception had been his highest Attribute, but Will had overtaken it, and Elias imagined all of this growth must have been due to the fact that he had to truly struggle to stay alive despite the advantages of having a body that could heal from virtually any damage.
His Mental Shelter Trait had evolved drastically to Unbreakable Sovereign Will, and perhaps this was the reason for his survival.
Finally, he reached the last section of this part of his Status screen, and Elias had to double-check that he was seeing correctly, but it seemed that he had not been able to gain a single point in the last mysterious Attribute Esoteric, which should be a cause for concern because he was sure that this Attribute was responsible for the growth of his Elder Talent.
Previously, this Attribute had been blocked, and it must have been due to the fact that he had not unlocked his Talent at the time, but now that it was opened, he could not help but wonder how he was going to improve it.
Would he have to spend his precious points in Esoteric, knowing that it was most likely the case that he would never be able to fill up his Lumina Oceans and gain any new points, or should he wait and see if his actions going forward would cause any growth in it?
The answer to this question may lie in the next section of his Status screen, because Elias had no true understanding of his Elder Talent, and did not fully know how it worked, but he had already tasted the fruits of its powers. If he had any hope of becoming a powerful figure in the future, then it was extremely important that he grow his Esoteric Attribute.
Only then was he sure that he would not be left behind and swept aside by the tide of inevitable progress.
The next section of his Status Screen was about his Titles, and Elias’s eyes brightened when he noticed that he had gained several new Titles. His previous Titles had been crucial to his progress.
Without the Good Hunter Title increasing his damages against foes that he considered worthy prey by ten percent, which enhanced the power of the Vessel of the Hungry Title that devastated the statues with the surprising storm, and then Late Bloomer Title aided him in consuming the Lumina from all the shattered statues, Elias would not be alive or in this state that he found himself.
