Level up is hard? I can Directly Purchase infinite Levels!-Chapter 69: "I Will Take Crimson City by Myself!"
"Then what if we could take Crimson City with minimal cost, even without exhausting the foundation of Iron Dragon Fortress?" Raine asked.
Hegros shook his head. "Minimal cost?"
"That’s impossible," he replied. "Siege warfare is the most brutal form of consumption."
"I want to try," Raine said firmly.
Hegros looked at him in confusion.
"Commander, I have a plan," Raine said.
"A plan?" Hegros felt that it was a bit sudden for a soldier to discuss strategic plans, but remembering the miracles Raine had previously created, he didn’t dismiss the idea.
"Let’s hear it," Hegros said, motioning for Raine to continue.
"You mentioned earlier that the gargoyle tribe and the Soul Devourer tribe sent strong experts to kill me as their primary goal."
"Although I don’t know their exact level, the reinforcements rushing from the rear should be able to hold them off, right?"
Hegros nodded. "Garson has already reported the situation as urgent. I believe the reinforcements sent from the rear will be enough to handle them."
"After all, to protect someone like you, both the Council and the military high-ups will not ignore it."
"Good," Raine nodded, a sharp light flashing in his eyes. He slowly revealed his plan.
"As long as we can delay or trap the enemy’s Grandmaster-level experts, then the remaining defenders of Crimson City, whether they are Expert-level, Master-level, or those alien races’ talents who sneaked in to kill me..."
He paused, speaking each word slowly, "I will take care of them all!"
"What are you talking about?!" Hegros exclaimed in shock.
He almost thought he heard wrong, his face full of astonishment.
"Only this way can Iron Dragon Fortress save its strength to face the possible subsequent counterattacks from the gargoyle tribe," Raine continued.
"Are you joking? Do you even understand what you’re saying?"
Hegros’ voice suddenly rose, filled with restrained anger.
"Do you know what you mean to the Seventh Division, the Scarlet Wall Patrol, and the entire eastern human defense line? We would give anything to protect you, even our lives!"
"Are you willing to risk your life for a city? We don’t need a victory bought with your life!"
Raine let out a soft sigh, his tone still calm.
"Commander, please don’t be angry, just let me finish."
Hegros suppressed his rising emotions and stayed silent.
Raine clearly explained, "First, I have enough confidence to challenge the defenders of Crimson City while ensuring my own safety."
"This is the fundamental reason I dare to make this suggestion. Second, attacking Crimson City also involves my personal consideration."
"Additionally, since the gargoyle tribe and other alien races’ experts are targeting me, their attention will certainly be drawn, which gives us an excellent opportunity for surprise action."
"I won’t act recklessly; I will prepare thoroughly."
Seeing Hegros slightly relax, Raine continued.
"However, I have three conditions: first, the Grandmaster-level experts from the enemy must not be allowed to interfere in the battle!"
"Second, I need to secretly visit Ironshield Fortress to prepare for this battle!"
"Third, at least one-third of the troops stationed in Iron Dragon Fortress and Bloodhowl Highlands need to be secretly sent through the mountains during my operation, circling behind Crimson City to cut off their retreat and communications!"
"Actually, whether you and the city lord agree or not, I will try to do this. The reason I’m telling you in advance is so Iron Dragon Fortress can be prepared and avoid being caught off guard."
"You’re not going to listen to orders now?"
Hegros didn’t understand where Raine’s confidence came from, but he knew this young man was not one to speak without action.
Raine’s tone suddenly turned solemn as he slowly said,
"Commander, we need a real victory to honor the countless patrol heroes who rest here."
"The human comrades behind us, many of whom are on the brink of leaving this world, I want them to hear the triumphant sounds from the eastern front in their lifetime!"
He raised his head, his gaze penetrating the deep darkness.
"I won’t just take Crimson City... I will push forward, until we plant our flag back on every inch of land that belongs to us!"
It was a boast, a bold and resolute ambition.
With the accumulation of strength and bloodstone, he was gradually becoming qualified to make such a declaration.
The alien beasts in the mountains had scattered in large numbers due to previous battles, and it would be difficult to gather a large amount of bloodstone in the short term.
For now, he didn’t want to alert Crimson City and risk prematurely exposing his plans.
So, he needed to secretly head to Ironshield Fortress, which was further but had frequent alien races activity, to hunt efficiently and gather a large amount of bloodstone.
That would allow him to temporarily advance to the Master level for a longer period.
Only at that level would he truly have the capital to directly confront and even slay Grandmaster-level talents.
His plan to take the city was actually aiming for a massacre!
Once he took this crucial alien races stronghold, he would obtain a massive amount of bloodstone, possibly enough to support his next step.
If he could continue pushing forward, accumulating more bloodstone...
He might truly be able to turn the tide in this region when temporarily promoted to Grandmaster!
Hegros didn’t understand his calculations about bloodstone and was understandably angry at what seemed like a suicidal adventure.
Suppressing his agitation, Hegros stared at Raine and asked,
"Your confidence comes from that forbidden technique that can temporarily boost your rank?"
"That’s one part of it," Raine admitted openly.
Attacking a city alone meant he could act without hesitation, constantly replenishing bloodstone by slaying enemies, forming a cycle of "fight to sustain the fight."
More importantly, he now had numerous battle techniques at his disposal: the Divine Relic Thunder Prison Blade, the three-star Obsidian Golem body with amazing defense, and the top-tier offensive skill Thunder Arbiter!
Along with the precious potions he had gathered as supplies and backup.
Without these accumulations, he wouldn’t dare to entertain such an idea!
"Going to Ironshield Fortress is fine. I can write you a letter of introduction. It’s also a good opportunity for you to temporarily stay away from the eye of the storm."
Hegros agreed quickly to Raine’s request to leave Iron Dragon Fortress and avoid the dangers.
After all, there were too many enemy experts infiltrating now, and staying here was too risky.
"As for the other ideas you proposed..."
Hegros shook his head. "I’ll inform Garson, but I don’t think they’ll approve of this crazy idea."
"You just need to remind the Governor to prepare mentally and make the necessary military arrangements," Raine smiled and said, his eyes showing no sign of joking.
"I can’t stop you, huh?"
Seeing Raine still smiling, Hegros angrily tapped his head.
"Go to Ironshield Fortress, I’ll let my team go with you."
Raine added, "I’ll take my team as well."
"Do as you please. You can leave now!"
"Heh, Commander, I’m serious. I’ve made up my mind on this!"
"Even the Speaker can’t stop me!"
Raine turned and ran toward the direction of Black Waterfall.
Hegros watched Raine’s retreating figure and shook his head helplessly.
"This kid dares to attack a fortress by himself? His words are bigger than the sky!"
"But since he’s so serious about it... fine, I’ll talk to Garson!"
