It had been a while since Roy began ignoring everything, even the childish chatters of his drunk wife, and started staring at the system's notification in all seriousness.

"Why are you blankly staring at thin air?" Delilah asked.

Because no one except for Roy could see the semi-transparent panels, she was confused.

"The wine tasted too good." answered Roy, "It dazed me."

She believed his excuse.

She had personally tasted it and knew how good it was. It was impossible to recreate with the current technology and resources of the empire. The ingredients needed to create it were extinct.

Normally, the sweeter something was, the faster she would be disgusted with it, but she felt it was a drink she would never get tired of, and it was extremely potent.

"Its alcoholic content is high. Falling into a daze or getting drunk after tasting it is normal. See those guys. I would have gotten as stoned as them if I hadn't taken the antidote beforehand." Delilah said while pointing at Julian and Tevenlor, who were knocked out.

The higher a person's stats, the lesser the chance of them getting drunk, and if they were a soul herder, this chance would decrease even further. Roy hadn't gotten drunk because of this very reason. Tevenlor, whose stats were around 200, got drunk because he exposed his soul to the raw soul intoxication wine, not its decomposed energy form.

"Delilah, can you take care of them, please?" Roy asked after a short pause.

"Leave the drunkard to me." Delilah gave him a head nod.

"Great."

Roy walked out of the dinner room with the Female Siren in his hand. He had always found her the most beautiful, but after she got drunk, he couldn't take his eyes off her. She looked absolutely ravishing. He carried her like a princess, with one of his hands under her knees and the other going from behind her and resting on her shoulder.

"Where are you taking me?" Extremely drunk and nervous, she wrapped her hands around his neck and questioned him in a low voice as her sweet and warm breath tickled his neck.

Before he could answer her, she answered herself while giggling, "To mate?"

Roy's adam's apple moved up and down, glistening with sweat. "No."

He wouldn't take advantage of a drunkard even if gold bars were sticking out of their pants.

Besides, this wasn't what he desired either. He wanted to make love to her when she was fully conscious of her actions.

"Then what?" she asked slowly. She was extremely sleepy. It was evident from the fact that she was finding it hard to keep her eyelids from dropping.

"I am bringing you to a room to sleep, replied Roy.

He was well aware of her situation.

She needed urgent rest.

"No, I want to play."

Despite her protest, he stepped into the guest room that was assigned to him and laid her down on the bed.

"Be good, and sleep." Rubbing her chin as if she was his pet and looking straight into her mesmerizing starry eyes, he said to her, "I might eat you if you don't."

His voice was hoarse and enigmatic, making her feel butterflies in her stomach.

"I am all skin and bones." She took her words for it, thinking that he really meant it as she was drunk to the bone. "I probably won't take good. But since you are my husband, I can't refuse you. How about you raise me for a while more? When there's more meat on my body, you can eat me?"

The old traditional value of the Female Sirens was that they should be obedient to their husbands.

'Does she even know what she is saying?'

Roy found her extremely naive and cute, and he pinched her smooth cheeks, "Then that's a promise. There's no going back, okay?"

She didn't like the idea of being eaten by her husband, not knowing that his "eat" meant "doing her," but she nodded after some hesitation, "Whoever breaks the promise will choke on his words."

They made a pinky promise on the spot.

While their fingers were still intertwined, Roy noticed that she had fallen asleep. He adjusted her posture, placing her head on the center of the pillow.

"No,"

But she declined him in her sleep, curled up, and entered the fetal position, wrapping her hands around her knees.

"Alright, you win. Feel free to sleep however you like."

Serving her was a chore.

The windows were closed, and it wasn't too cold in the room, so Roy took off her shoes, exposing her bare feet to the chill. Her skin was smooth and glowy without a skin blemish on it, and her toes were round and slender. Every inch of her was perfect, and she was all his, but he didn't let his primal desire get the better of him.

"Goodnight."

He looked at her, sleeping like a child, and found her lovely. Swallowing his lust and wishing her goodnight, he spread a blanket over her. He proceeded to hide her feet inside it too. Thinking that it wouldn't be enough to keep her warm, he threw a fireball into the firehouse.

Crack, crack!

The woods crackled as they were set on fire, and warmth spread throughout the room. As a result, the temperature increased. It was no longer as cold as before, but it wasn't too hot either.

The female siren moaned contentedly.

'This might be the perfect temperature for a female siren.' Roy thought after he saw her expression easing up.

He stood up to leave but was suddenly grabbed by the wrist. Turning around, he saw the Female Siren looking at him with cloudy eyes.

At a glance, he realized she hadn't fallen asleep. She was just feeling too lazy to do anything, so she had him serve her, and the truth was, she was quite satisfied with his service.

"Going somewhere?" she asked.

Roy didn't decline as he didn't want to lie to her and said, "It's a dangerous place, but I promise I will be back when you wake up."

He placed a kiss on her lips and immediately vanished like a ghost. She turned in her bed again and again while furiously blushing. His sudden kiss wasn't expected, and the residual warmth on her forehead kept her fulfilled and happy.

...

The mist outside the gate of the garden swirled. Countless strands of darkness danced in the air, quickly intertwining and solidifying into a human figure.

Who could this ghost-like man be if not Roy?

Just as he appeared, a voice came from behind him.

"Where are you sneaking off to?"

'Fuck' Roy was spooked for a moment. 'Did a real ghost make its entrance into my life?'

He turned to the source of the unfamiliar voice and saw a familiar figure. It was a person dressed in black with no curves whatsoever, looking like a slim but well-muscled young man, but Roy determined that it was Swift Death, his hidden blade. She was using her family's heirloom to transform into a man. A mask covered her face, masking her true voice.

"Delilah? What are you doing here?" he asked in a calm voice after composing himself.

She replied plainly, "Chilling."

After settling the drunkards in different beds and rooms, she couldn't fall asleep.

She was quite used to it as she had insomnia.

Usually, when that happens, she takes a walk and submerges herself in the darkness.

"I didn't expect to bump into you," she added.

It was just a coincidence.

'She is an assassin, alright.' Roy thought.

Only an assassin would be able to do something like this. Heck, even though his senses far surpassed hers, just because his guard wasn't up, he didn't realize someone was behind him until she opened her mouth.

"Me neither," Roy said.

He told her that he was going to the Ashen Land.

Hearing his words, she was surprised.

"Why there? You are already on Voss's hit list. He is thirsty for your blood and would pay any price to kill you. Aren't you afraid he will go after you if he finds out that you have entered that place?" She looked at him like she was looking at a fool.

The entire story of what Roy experienced in the Ancestral land was told to her over the course of the banquet, so she knew how deeply he had offended that monster.

Their enmity was so deep that it wouldn't end unless one side died.

"Sometimes the most dangerous place is the safest," Roy spoke enlightening words while carrying a light smile on the edge of his lips. He didn't look tensed at all.

Swift Death raised her head to meet his eyes, "You think this is one of those times?"

Roy nodded without hesitation, "Voss isn't intelligent, as you have already seen. After being trapped for hundreds of years, he has pretty much gone senile. What I am trying to say is, not even in a million years would he expect to find me in the Ashen Land. And as long as he doesn't notice I am there, I have nothing to worry about."
