Leveling Up by Seducing Milfs-Chapter 207. The Forbidden Guardian Rises
There was a sound that shouldn’t happen in nature when the ocean floor split open.
It wasn’t a crack or a rumble... or anything else that could be described in normal words. It was reality itself screaming, as something that had been locked up for six hundred years finally got out of its cell.
"N-No... it’s too late..." Nerissa’s face darkened, and she’s the one that already knows what’s about to happen to them in the next few minutes.
Rick felt the water around him get cold in a way that had nothing to do with the temperature. This was the cold of complete hopelessness, of hope dying, and the universe pulling away from something that should never have existed.
The key that was made from the stolen bond fragment of Typhon, Seris, and Nerissa reached the bottom of the Abyssal Trenches, which is eight thousand meters below where they were floating.
For a few seconds... nothing happened for a moment.
But then... the seal broke.
The Archon’s avatar laughed, and the sound echoed through every drop of water in the ocean. "And now... I present to you a show that’s about to start!"
"The Forbidden Guardian has finally awoken from its deep sleep! And now...!!! The judgment of Zorathia begins."
The Archon looked at them all. "Godspeed..."
After saying that with a corrupted smile, the Archon vanished away, and they were free from the tendrils, but it didn’t matter anymore because the Archon had already won with his backup plan.
"No! No...!!! NOOOOOOO!!!" Rick starts to scream, full of rage, that he’s starting to lose options for what to do next. "We can’t...! We can’t just act hopeless right now!"
"We have to—"
RAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
All of their bodies trembled as they heard a scream echoing from the depths, and the forbidden creature began to rise slowly from the shadows.
"Too late... it’s here..." Natasha said with a scared look.
When Rick first saw Cthulhu, his mind struggled to accept the sight before him. It couldn’t process the creature’s immense size, its otherworldly nature, and the sheer impossibility of what had emerged from the darkness.
The creature’s head broke through the water in the deepest trench first. It was bigger than any building Rick had seen in Valdris and even bigger than the palace.
What’s even more unsettling is that it was larger than an entire continent. Its head measured five hundred meters across, adorned with writhing tentacles that moved with a life of their own.
Each tentacle was as thick as an ancient tree and long enough to encircle the New Leviathan multiple times.
Rick’s stomach didn’t just drop because of how big it was. It was what the creature stood for.
Cthulhu’s body represented corruption made manifest; the purple energy didn’t merely coat its scales—it WAS its scales. Each movement sent waves of corrupting power rippling through the ocean, turning clear water into an inky blackness wherever it made contact.
The creature had dozens of eyes all over its huge head, and they glowed with an intelligence that felt wrong in some way.
This wasn’t a mindless creature... This was something that knew exactly what it was doing and liked it.
The Forbidden Guardian kept getting bigger until its torso was bigger than mountains, and its six arms came out of its sides, and each one had claws that could tear through reality itself.
There are also its wings, which open up from its back. They were huge, membranous structures that stretched for kilometers in all directions, blocking out the little light that came down from the surface.
Rick felt like a bug compared to the Cthulhu... No, not that big, but worse, he felt like a single cell looking at a god, and not a good one.
"Holy fucking... shit," Zara whispered, and for the first time since Rick had met her, the demon general sounded really scared, and her body was trembling without control.
"That... FUCKING thing is clearly out of our league! We can’t fight it, and not just us! Not a single living thing can fight it other than gods or goddesses!!!"
Nerissa’s voice cut through the fear. It was loud and commanding, even though Rick could feel a tremor through their Spirit Bond.
"EVERYONE! Activate full suppression protocol! We seal it now before it reaches the surface!"
She transformed back into her full royal form, a manifestation of fifteen meters of oceanic power, which appeared very small compared to Cthulhu’s growing mass. "Rick...!"
"Channel Ocean’s Hope through our bond! We need to work together to stop this thing before it’s too late!"
Rick didn’t think twice. He turned on Ocean’s Hope and felt the skill mix with Nerissa’s oceanic power through their Spirit Bond.
The water around them obeyed their combined will, and for a moment, Rick felt like he was in charge of the whole ocean.
"OCEANIC AUTHORITY: ABYSSAL PRISON!" Nerissa and Rick shouted in unison.
They used the water as a weapon. As Cthulhu’s body rose, huge walls of compressed ocean formed around it, trying to make a cage that would keep the creature from rising to the surface.
The pressure they made was strong enough to crush anything normal into paste, flatten cities, and even crack the seafloor under the weight.
Cthulhu stopped rising, and for a moment, Rick thought it might really work.
Then one of the creature’s huge arms moved, almost without thinking, and the cage broke apart like glass.
Rick and Nerissa both screamed when the backlash from their broken spell hit them. It felt like getting punched in the soul when their combined magical power was thrown away and ignored.
"I-It’s not working...?!" Carmilla shouted as she swam up to Rick with her sword drawn, even though she knew it wouldn’t help against something this big. "We need to come up with a new plan!"
Nerissa’s mind was already racing, using her eight hundred years of tactical experience to figure out what could happen. "Thalor! Myrissa! Send out emergency signals to all the royal children right away!"
"Code Exodus!"
Myrissa’s eyes grew wide with understanding and fear. "M-Mother... that’s the plan for getting people out of the city before it gets destroyed..."
"I—If we use that, we’re admitting we can’t stop it."
"We CAN’T stop it!" Nerissa’s voice broke with a mix of desperation and common sense. "We can’t do it here, we can’t do it now, and we can’t do it with our current resources!"
"The most important thing is to save as many lives as possible! Follow the protocol... NOW!"
Ocean magic made it possible for members of the royal family to talk to each other over long distances. "All siblings, this is Crown Prince Thalor!"
"Code Exodus is in effect! Repeat, CODE EXODUS!"
"Start the emergency evacuation of Meridia Citadel immediately...! I repeat, START THE EMERGENCY EVACUATION OF MERIDIA CITADEL IMMEDIATELY!!!"
Nerissa’s three hundred children got the order all over the city and moved like people who had trained for this moment but never thought it would happen. Royal mages initiated the largest magical project in the Ocean Empire’s history, concurrently relocating civilians residing in the ocean to safe zones.
Nerissa yelled, "Citadel Translocation Protocol!" Her royal power amplified her voice, making it audible throughout Meridia.
"All citizens, get ready for emergency transportation!"
Hundreds of Nerissa’s children, all of whom were skilled at ocean magic to some degree, combined their powers in a way that would have been impossible without their shared bloodline.
They built a web of magical energy under the whole citadel so they could move fifty thousand ocean dwellers and the buildings they lived in to a place far away from Cthulhu’s awakening.
Rick was amazed to see that everything in Meridia, from the coral buildings to the crystal streets to the bioluminescent gardens, started to glow with blue-white energy.
"Where are you going to move them?"
"Northern shallows, two hundred kilometers from here," Nerissa said, her mind split between keeping her part of the spell going and keeping an eye on Cthulhu as he continued to rise. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
"It’s far enough away that the first awakening won’t reach them... but close enough that we can return if we survive."
They were getting ready to leave when the Forbidden Guardian rose another thousand meters. Now that its torso was fully visible, it showed the true horror of how it was made.
The creature’s body seemed to move and writhe even when it was standing still, as if its physical form was barely able to hold something even worse inside.
"Translocation in three... two... one..."
"...EXECUTE!"
