Chapter 34 - Cosplay

The afternoon sun filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the living room as Kazuma sat at his desk, reviewing some notes for Spirit Walker. The soft clicking of his keyboard filled the room, his light blue eyes focused on the screen. His concentration, however, was about to be tested in a way he hadn't anticipated.

"Dear," Masako's voice rang out from their bedroom, laced with mischief. "Can you come here for a moment? I need your opinion on something."

Kazuma glanced toward the doorway, slightly wary. Masako's tone usually meant she was up to something. Still, he couldn't ignore her, so he stood and walked toward the bedroom, brushing a hand through his light blue hair. "What is it, sweetie?" he called as he approached.

When he stepped inside, his breath hitched. Standing in the center of the room was Masako, dressed in one of the most revealing outfits he'd ever seen her wear—a cosplay she'd designed herself, inspired by one of the characters in Morin Rock. The costume was a tight, form-fitting battle suit that left little to the imagination, accentuating her curves and showing off her thighs with a dangerously high slit. The plunging neckline framed her chest perfectly, and her golden eyes sparkled with playful intent.

"What do you think?" she asked, striking a dramatic pose. "Does it capture the character?"

Kazuma froze, his cheeks instantly turning bright red as his light blue eyes darted everywhere except directly at her. "Masako, what—? Why are you wearing that?"

"Because I designed it," she said matter-of-factly, twirling slightly so the skirt of the costume swished around her legs. "I wanted to see how it looks when worn. You know, quality assurance." She leaned forward, resting her hands on her hips and giving him a sly grin. "And I wanted your opinion, dear."

Kazuma swallowed hard, his voice slightly strained. "It... it looks great. You did an amazing job, as always."

Masako straightened up, her grin widening. "Oh, I'm not done yet," she said, turning back toward the closet. "I have more."

"More?" Kazuma repeated, his light blue eyes widening.

Before he could recover, Masako slipped into the closet and reemerged moments later in another outfit—a scantily clad warrior's ensemble, complete with a tiny top that barely covered her chest and shorts so tight they left nothing to the imagination. She did a little spin, letting her long legs and shapely figure take full focus.

"This one," she said, gesturing to the outfit, "is based on the rogue character. What do you think? Does it scream 'deadly yet seductive'?"

Kazuma's face somehow grew even redder as he stumbled over his words. "I-it's definitely... eye-catching."

Masako laughed, clearly enjoying his reaction. "You're so easy to fluster, dear. It's adorable." She walked closer to him, placing a finger under his chin to tilt his face up toward hers. "Come on, be honest. Do you like it?"

"I..." Kazuma started, his voice faltering as he tried to form a coherent response. "You look amazing, Masako. You always do. But are these really practical for battle?"

Masako raised an eyebrow, her grin turning mischievous. "Oh, practical isn't the point, dear. It's all about style. And maybe..." She leaned in closer, her golden eyes locked on his. "Just maybe, I like seeing you blush."

Kazuma groaned softly, running a hand through his hair. Masako laughed, turning back toward the closet. "One more. This is my favorite."

Kazuma sighed, trying to compose himself as he waited. When Masako emerged this time, she was wearing a sorceress outfit that left her midriff completely exposed, with a flowing cape that framed her curvy silhouette. The top barely covered her chest, and the skirt was slit on both sides, showing off her long legs.

She walked toward him slowly, her golden eyes twinkling as she watched his reaction. "So, dear," she said, stopping right in front of him. "What do you think of this one?"

Kazuma's light blue eyes darted between the intricate details of the outfit and the way it highlighted Masako's figure. He opened his mouth to respond, but no words came out. His face burned as he looked away, his heart pounding in his chest.

Masako giggled, clearly pleased with herself. She reached out to take his hands, placing them gently on her waist. "Kazuma," she said softly, her voice teasing but affectionate, "you're so cute when you're flustered."

"Masako," he managed to say, his voice barely above a whisper, "you're going to be the death of me."

She laughed, leaning up to kiss his cheek. "Oh, don't be so dramatic, dear. I'm just having a little fun." She pulled back slightly, her golden eyes meeting his. "But seriously, thank you for letting me show off. It means a lot to me that you're always so supportive of my designs."

Kazuma smiled, his light blue eyes softening. "You're incredibly talented, Masako. Your work always amazes me, even when you're trying to embarrass me."

Masako grinned, wrapping her arms around his neck. "That's because I have the best husband ever. Now, how about we take a few pictures of these outfits? I might want to show them off online later."

Kazuma sighed but nodded, his smile growing. "Alright, sweetie. Let's do it."

As the storm raged outside, the two of them spent the rest of the evening laughing, teasing, and celebrating Masako's creativity. No matter how much she loved flustering him, Kazuma knew her playful nature was just one of the many reasons he adored her—and why they made such an incredible team.
