Life Simulation: My Talent Is Wool-Chapter 22: When the Fox Shows Its Fangs
The tree trunk missed the target.
Soon, in a coordinated manner, the wolves attacked their feet, arms and necks.
Before they could succeed, Luan dodged.
Catharina on the other hand, besides dodging, attacked the neck of one of the wolves. With the sound of *THWACK-CHUK* her hand went through the wolf’s neck, and when she pulled her hand back, blood spurted like a broken water pipe.
Licking her blood-soaked hand, her predatory eyes curved slightly in delight.
*HOWL!*
The alpha’s howl snapped them out of their state of fear, making them charge at them again.
Wool wrapped around Luan’s left arm the instant one wolf managed to reach him.
"Luan!" Catharina shouted in panic.
"It’s okay, focus!" He shouted back.
The wolf’s teeth sank into the wool, managing to reach his skin, but didn’t go deeper.
Frowning, he calculated, then spun with the wolf still caught on his arm.
*CRUNCH!*
The wolf stuck to his arm crashed into another wolf that was leaping toward Luan’s neck.
"Yelp-yelp"
The wolves whimpered in pain, even the one biting his arm let go.
"Get down!"
At the sound of Catharina’s voice, he ducked.
*THWACK!*
Above him, a wolf flew past and Catharina’s claw-shaped hand reached the wolf’s head, striking right between the eyes, piercing even the skull.
She pulled back her blood-stained hand, and the wolf with a hole in its head continued forward, falling with a loud "Thud" on the ground.
Dodging the wolves, Catharina licked the blood from her hands down to the last drop.
Little by little, her aura began to become more dangerous — more predatory.
Her golden eyes gained a red outline around the pupils.
Her pair of tails swayed. Her shark teeth changed a little... Or rather, vampire fangs stood out.
With a more restrained sound, the wolves showed weakness in front of her.
*HOWL!*
Seeing this, the alpha howled again. The wolves left their state of fear once more, surrounding Catharina and Luan.
They began to walk around them without attacking.
It was then that Luan stopped being able to follow Catharina’s movements and also when he truly understood why demi-humans were feared.
Her movements were faster than those of the Lv2 in the village.
She moved so quickly, attacking each wolf with lethal blows.
In a matter of seconds, she had finished off six wolves.
*Thud! Thud! Thud...!*
The wolves’ bodies fell to the ground, there was even one that had been split in half.
"Wow..."
He let out a gasp of amazement.
Meanwhile, since the beginning he had only managed to bring down two wolves, and it was still uncertain whether they died or not.
This time, even the alpha showed fear — unprecedented fear.
Like an injured dog, he didn’t howl, but let out a pitiful bark when receiving a look from Catharina.
It was as if the prey had finally met its natural predator.
All the alpha’s fur stood on end.
Partially recovering, the alpha seemed to sense that it was a lost fight.
And, in his moment of hesitation, Catharina killed two more wolves and Luan struck the head of another.
"Awoooo!!"
"""Woof!!"""
At the sound of the alpha’s howl, the surviving wolves barked, retreating.
"Let them go." Luan said when he saw Catharina’s intention to chase them.
"..." Catharina paused, all the dangerous vibration around her diminished.
Every second, Catharina underwent a change, returning to what she was before.
She looked at him and agreed: "Okay."
...
Of thirty-two wolves, thirteen remained.
Four of them were still alive.
Luan approached them. With his fist wrapped in wool, he struck the neck.
*POW!*
*PRACC!*
Something cracked.
When the wolf gave its last breath, he moved on to the next one.
Soon, all thirteen wolves were dead.
"What are we going to do with them?" Catharina pointed to the wolves’ corpses.
Luan answered immediately: "We’ll break them down, turning them into travel meat. It would be a waste not to claim them."
"Mm." She nodded.
"Oh yes, take care of the roasting pig. If we don’t turn it now, it’ll burn... Luckily, it didn’t take too long and it wasn’t hit." He sighed in relief.
It would have been heartbreaking if it had fallen to the ground. Although it would still be edible, it would inevitably lose some of the meat’s quality.
He thought of something and added: "Catharina."
"Yes?"
"On second thought, how about you suck the blood from the wolves?" He said: "That way it’ll be easier to break them down."
"I’ll do it." She agreed easily.
...
It didn’t even take half an hour for Catharina to suck all the blood from the wolves, but without sucking the proteins from the meat. And two hours later, Luan finished breaking down the wolves.
Superficially, the roasted pig was already ready, but reality was brutal. A pig of this size, even with a high fire, would take a while to be fully cooked.
Catharina approached him, wiping his sweat.
"Thank you." He held her hand, taking the face towel.
She stepped away without saying a word, returning to turn the pig.
After finishing drying his face, he asked: "Hungry?"
"A little." She replied.
"Very well." He said: "Even though it’s not 100% ready, we can eat the meat from the top."
Without hesitation, Luan picked up a large butcher knife and began cutting the meat.
The smell was juicy. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Even though it was just superficial, he cut roughly three kilos of meat.
"Here, eat some." He handed half to her.
"Thank you~" She accepted happily.

The next morning.
Strangely, after the wolves, no other animal dared to approach them.
And, since a lot of pork remained, Luan rekindled the fire, warming the meat.
Catharina was still sleeping in the tent meanwhile. In a few minutes she would wake up.
As expected. As soon as the smell of the meat reached her, Catharina opened her eyes.
"Good morning..." She said in a somewhat groggy voice.
"Good morning." Luan replied: "Wash your face and then let’s eat."
"Mm."
...
The weather was a bit warm, but fortunately there was a refreshing breeze.
The morning sun fully brightened the day while Luan and Catharina finished packing up.
Just as Catharina wore a hooded cap with strings that covered her eyes, he wore a wide-brimmed hat.
Catharina’s brown overcoat was warm, but she didn’t mind. She had high control over her body temperature.
Hand in hand, the two walked along the dirt road.
It’s worth noting that after breaking down the wolves, they obtained a large amount of meat, thus increasing their luggage. Fortunately, Luan had brought more than one large wool backpack with him.
The weight was one thing, but Luan also believed that this was, in a way, a form of training.
