Chapter 116: Chapter 116: Cheating

Ray Woods had actually heard about the rumors regarding Silas Sutton and Stella Grant long ago.

But he was always one to value seeking truth from facts and disliked spreading unfounded gossip, so he didn’t pay much attention to it.

If he hadn’t run into Silas Sutton here today, he would have thought those rumors were completely unfounded.

Faced with Ray Woods’ inquiry, Stella Grant didn’t respond immediately.

About half a minute later, she softly replied, "Can you keep this a secret for me?"

Ray Woods’ brows lightly furrowed, worried that Stella Grant was being coerced, "Is he threatening you?"

Stella Grant said, "No."

Ray Woods asked again, "Then are you two dating?"

Both of them were single, so it would be normal if they were dating.

Stella Grant’s face looked a bit troubled, "No, we’re not."

Seeing Stella Grant’s expression, Ray Woods understood and knew not to press further. He simply said, "Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone, not even Sue Woods."

Stella Grant smiled lightly, "Thank you." 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

After thinking for a while, Ray Woods said, "If you ever need any help, just let me know. Even though I wouldn’t call myself fearless, I can’t just stand by and watch my friends get bullied."

Stella Grant, "Thank you, Ray."

Ray Woods suddenly grinned, glanced towards the restroom, and whispered, "No need to thank me; just take me out for a meal sometime to comfort my startled soul."

Ray Woods spoke in his usual light and humorous tone, appearing unaffected by Silas Sutton.

But Stella Grant knew he was just trying to avoid making her feel awkward.

Even so, Stella Grant breathed a secret sigh of relief, "I’ll treat you to a feast when I have time."

Ray Woods, "It’s a deal; I’ll be waiting to take advantage of you once you get your project bonus."

Stella Grant, "No problem."

Sue Woods returned more than ten minutes later, muttering about Ray Woods giving her the wrong room card.

"You gave me your room card earlier, and I was trying to swipe it for the longest time, thinking the card was demagnetized."

Ray Woods laughed, "Didn’t you think to look at the room number on the card?"

Sue Woods took a seat and shoved the card back to Ray, "Shouldn’t there be trust between people? Especially since we’re siblings, how could I doubt what you gave me?"

Ray Woods exposed her without mercy, "Stupid is as stupid does, trying to find some grand reason for your stupidity."

With the unexpected encounter of Ray Woods with Silas Sutton, the atmosphere among the three seemed unchanged initially, but in reality, it became much more restrained.

Especially Ray Woods, who wanted to end the dinner gathering quickly, yet worried that coming up with an unnatural excuse would arouse Sue’s suspicion and backfire.

The three drank until dawn, and Ray Woods finally ended the drinking session on the grounds of ’drinking too much.’

Sue Woods had had quite a bit to drink and clung to Stella Grant’s neck, "No, I want to sleep with Stella tonight."

Ray Woods reached out and tugged at her collar, "Waste not, want not; don’t waste the room next door."

Sue Woods, "It’s been so long since I hugged Stella to sleep, no one can separate us tonight."

After saying that, she even gave Stella a big kiss on the cheek.

In the end, Ray Woods half dragged and half carried Sue Woods away.

At the door, Sue Woods clung to the doorframe, reminiscent of the old tale of the star-crossed lovers, separated against their will.

"Stella."

"Let me go, I want to sleep with Stella tonight."

No one knows their sister better than a brother. As Sue Woods hysterically shouted, Ray Woods reached out to close the door.

Ray Woods was closing the door quickly, and just as it was about to catch Sue’s hand, she suddenly pulled her hand back at lightning speed, not at all like someone drunk.

With the door slamming shut with a ’bang,’ Sue Woods’ ’mournful’ cries were abruptly cut off outside the door.

Stella Grant looked at the closed door, struggling to suppress a laugh. She turned back, and as she twisted her head, she saw Silas Sutton leaning against the wall with a playful smirk.

Stella Grant’s smile vanished, and she pressed her lips into a straight line.

Silas Sutton raised an eyebrow lazily at her, exuding a charming nonchalance, "Stella Grant, what now? Your boyfriend found out you were sneaking around behind his back."
