Little Miss Devil: The President’s Mischievous Wife-Chapter 29
Lu Xinyi went outside the house with Shen Yi on his side, followed by their dogs. His assistant came to pick him up for work.
His hand held hers on a tight grasp as if he was afraid she will vanish on his side.
“Wait. I forgot something.” Shen Yi stopped and opened his hand in front of her. “Give me your phone.”
Not wanting to argue with him, Lu Xinyi handed her phone to his waiting hand and watched how he quickly type his number and saved it on her phone.
“Here. I saved my number on your phone. Call me if you need anything.”
Shen Yi patted Lu Xinyi’s head gently, He was glad that his wife didn’t repulse his confession earlier.
“Xinyi, don’t let anyone hurt you again. Don’t let them escaped unharmed,” he said.
As much as he wanted to crush Gong Yijun for hurting his wife, he will let Lu Xinyi reap her own revenge to those who had wronged her. Shen Yi had faith on her, that she could get back what was rightfully hers without his help but anyone who dares to harm her will suffer his wrath.
“Is my husband doubting my capabilities?” Lu Xinyi teased back.
“No, just making sure you wouldn’t come back to me crying again.”
Remembering the last time he saw her cry made his blood boil in anger again.
“Let me deal with them. I’ll surely make them taste of their own medicine.” she grinned.
No, she wouldn’t allow them to step on her and bully her. Not when she was Shen Yi’s wife, not when her eyes were already opened to their lies and maltreatment. It was time for her to face her own problems.
She sighed. Her peaceful moments with Shen Yi were cut too short. If only they could stay longer on the cruise vacation and leave everything behind.
Her dogs pleaded for her attention which she quickly granted. Lu Xinyi gave them a satisfying rub on her chins and murmuring her words on those two spoiled furbabies.
“Say, Xinyi.” Shen Yi had been meaning to ask this before but he couldn’t find a right time ask her.
“Hmm?”
“What are your next plans after leaving that rat hole?” He meant he previous job.
“I really want to go back to study. I think I have enough savings to enroll for the next semester.” Lu Xinyi said. She was a little ashamed to tell him that she didn’t finish her studies due to her financial problems. After graduating from high school, she started working full time to save money.
“Do you still want to get in Silver Leaf?”
Her face fell. As much as she wanted to attend the Silver Leaf Academy it will be impossible without getting a slot for examination and passing it. She was quick to hide her frustration. Lu Xinyi shook her head. There was nothing she could do about it. Not being able to receive a confirmation letter like Meng Jiao only means that she’d failed.
“No. I think it wasn’t for me and I have to accept that.”
She shook her head because she wasn’t sure how she could possibly go to her dream school. If the fate really wouldn’t give her that path, maybe staying at Shen Yi’s side, cooking the meals she always wanted to try would be enough in her heart.
Lu Xinyi didn’t really want that much. If she always wanted to become a chef like her father but she could be also satisfied living a normal life without much drama.
Shen Yi was quick to see the truth behind her lies. Did she really think she could lie to him like that? The truth on her face was bright as the daylight.
“Lu Xinyi, do not lie to me ever again. Do you want it or not?”
After hearing the seriousness on his voice, Lu Xinyi thought and weighed the pros and cons of her choices.
“I want it.” she decided. “Can you take a slot for me?” she grinned as if challenging her husband.
“Xinyi.” Shen Yi helped her up back on her foot and pulled her into an embrace. “I told you, you only need to ask and everything should fall in your hands.” Shen Yi reached out his hand and gently stroked Lu Xinyi’s lips. He was really tempted to lean forward to taste those luscious lips that seemed to tease him.
Lu Xinyi froze for a moment before she took the opportunity to wrap her arms on his waist. In his arms, she found the peace in her arms. In his embrace, she knew no one will dare to harm her.
“Come home early,” he told her.
“Why?” Lu Xinyi asked as she loosened her hold on his waist.
“I asked Madam Jin to prepare Filet Mignon for dinner.”
Shen Yi could only smirk as his wife grinned like a spoiled child with her eyes sparkling with joy.
