Chapter 333: Chapter 333: First Exchange

"How many points do you have?" Xu Yi asked directly. After losing 200 points, he and Lu Ke only had 824 points left.

He wondered if Zhou Chun and Zhou Mo raised their hands in the hall.

"421 points. We didn’t raise our hands; we spent 200 on a crossbow and 50 points on a hammer before," Zhou Chun replied honestly.

"Adding their 200 points, our group has 1445 points in total. Not bad. With so many points, we should be able to get out of the desert smoothly," Xu Yi said happily, as he was worried Zhou Chun and Zhou Mo also had only around two hundred points.

"Brother Xu, you guys had over a thousand points at the start? Impressive!" Zhou Mo couldn’t help but exclaim, looking at Xu Yi with admiration.

Xu Yi nodded at Zhou Mo, then opened his Star Chart and looked for what he wanted.

"Compass, 15 points each. Although I’m not sure if it’s usable, it’s the cheapest option," he said.

"Sunhats, 10 points each. We need to exchange for six," Xu Yi said, feeling a bit pained by the expense. These hats were indeed pricey. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

"Also, the daytime temperature is so high that our travel distance is limited, so we might need to travel at night. Each group should have a solar-powered headlamp, 25 points each. Let’s exchange for three first," Xu Yi continued with his list of necessary items.

Zhou Chun nodded in agreement with Xu Yi’s arrangement, having no objections.

This plan totaled 150 points spent.

The items from the organizers were indeed expensive.

"What about Liu Li and Cheng Jie, should we carry them, or exchange for a stretcher?" Zhou Chun asked, glancing at Liu Li and Cheng Jie lying on the ground.

Though Zhou Chun didn’t want to team up with Group 008, this wasn’t his decision to make. The organizers had paired them up, and he had no choice but to accept it.

So now, they needed to bring Liu Li and Cheng Jie along.

"Lu Ke and I will carry them. Let’s rest for half an hour and then set off. By then, the items we exchanged for should have arrived," Xu Yi said, completing the transaction with their points.

After a dozen minutes, a large Flying Ball appeared and landed in front of Xu Yi and his group.

After retrieving their items, the Flying Ball quickly flew away.

"The temperature keeps rising. I wonder how hot it’ll get at the peak?" Zhou Mo, putting on a hat, wiped sweat from his forehead. Even holding up the giant lizard skin didn’t stop the constant sweating.

"It’s estimated to exceed 40 degrees, so we need to leave the desert area early," Xu Yi said, checking the time and finding it was already 11 o’clock. He suggested, "Let’s eat something, then set out on our journey. The compass is quite stable, indicating a relatively stable magnetic field here. Let’s head south."

"Alright." Zhou Chun nodded, agreeing with Xu Yi’s plan.

In a team, it’s best to have one leader.

After all, everyone’s aim is to survive the 500-day challenge without conflicts.

If there were rules allowing for team member replacements from the start, it would be different.

"Cheng Jie, how are you? Can you get up?" Lu Ke saw Zhou Ke trying to get up, immediately crouching to help Cheng Jie.

"I can sit," Cheng Jie said weakly, standing was too challenging.

Lu Ke smiled happily, seeing the positive change.

She carefully helped Cheng Jie up, gently cautioning, "Be careful."

"No, no problem." Cheng Jie felt immense pain all over, like a vehicle had run over her. But she refrained from crying out, even biting her lips until they bled.

Although she returned to the challenge with a death wish, she wasn’t ready to die just yet.

She hadn’t avenged her husband by killing enough beasts yet.

Her husband was killed by a beast, and she wanted to kill more beasts to avenge him.

"Liu Li, do you want to get up?" Xu Yi asked, seeing Liu Li move her lips.

"Yes..." Liu Li responded. She didn’t want to be a burden, nor be abandoned. So, she needed to recover, needed to persevere.

Liu Li’s situation was more severe than Cheng Jie’s, so she was in even more pain.

Both ate a little and drank some water.

Xu Yi and Zhou Chun sliced some giant lizard meat to put into their Storage Space. Especially Xu Yi, who brought more items, so he had more space.

Once everything was sorted, Xu Yi carried Cheng Jie and Lu Ke carried Liu Li.

Zhou Mo wanted to help, but Xu Yi thought it better for him to be on lookout duty.

After all, carrying people wasn’t much of a burden for Lu Ke right now.

The four of them headed south, moving steadily without much stopping.

Darkness fell quickly, but with the three LED headlamps, they continued their journey.

Along the way, they encountered no giant lizards, which was fairly safe.

However, they did hear about another group in which one member was eliminated, and the other narrowly survived. The specific danger they encountered remained unknown.

"Xu Yi, we should stop and rest now. You two have been carrying them for over eight hours," Zhou Chun suggested, checking the time. It was already past eight, and it was time to stop and rest.

"Alright, let’s stop and rest." Xu Yi agreed with Zhou Chun’s suggestion. Cheng Jie and Liu Li on their backs were already very tired, and it was indeed time to rest.

Anyway, with no vegetation, only rocky terrain, there was no point in searching for a specific spot; they could stop anywhere.

There was no firewood to be found here either.

"Xu Yi, you’re amazing," Cheng Jie said to Xu Yi, feeling very grateful.

"No problem, we’re a team, and helping each other is what we should do," Xu Yi replied with a smile, giving a glance to Lu Ke and Liu Li beside him.

Liu Li also expressed her gratitude to Lu Ke, appearing to be recovering well.

"Dad, how should we sleep at night? Do we need to stack stones around to create a barrier?" Zhou Mo asked, considering the low night temperatures in the area.

"Xu Yi, do you have any suggestions?" Zhou Chun looked to Xu Yi, effectively leaving the decision to him.

"Sleeping bags. Exchange for three sleeping bags. They’re 30 points each, which is expensive, but we’ve used them before. They’re great for warmth and waterproofing, and the bottoms can be inflated for comfort," Xu Yi suggested. He had planned this exchange, but chose to do it in the evening instead of earlier when they’d have to carry them a long distance.
