In a hurry to get back to class, Xu Su only had time to shoot him a glare before rushing off.

When Xu Su pushed open the classroom door, her nose beaded with sweat, Teacher Wu was sitting beside the podium reading a book. The rest of the students were hunched over their desks, working on test papers.

When the bell finally rang at the end of the second period, Xu Su turned in her test paper, grabbed her empty water bottle, and prepared to get some hot water.

The weather was so hot that few students bothered with hot water, but Xu Su was used to it. The only problem was that she was extremely thirsty at the moment, and waiting for it to cool down would be a hassle.

She had just gotten up when a figure stood beside her. Xi Zirong held out a bottle of mineral water. "Fu Jun brought this for me. Want some?"

As he spoke, he leaned in again, his expression unreadable.

Xu Su’s heart clenched. She turned her head away, and his lips landed on her cheek.

She pushed him away again. "We can’t, we can’t! What if someone sees us?"

’Someone could come along this path at any second. If we were seen... with their reputation at First High School, the rumor would spread across the entire campus in less than an hour...’

Xi Zirong kissed her cheek and, without another word, pulled her deeper into the grove.

The whole way, Xu Su kept demanding they go back. She was afraid of mosquitoes, and the grove was full of them.

But Xi Zirong didn’t know what a mosquito magnet she was. He said nothing, simply pulling her deeper into the woods until they reached the far side of a small hill.

The boy was tall with long limbs. Though his arms looked slender, they were surprisingly strong as he held her tight for a deep kiss.
