Capítulo 2347: Chapter 184: Ambush

Vast and dark.

Churning with ‘black waves’, rubble, and countless indescribable voids, mysterious, obscure, and tranquil like a deep swamp.

Resembling a deep sea, or an endless ancient swamp forest…

This is precisely where the Soul Falling is located.

A figure in green robes swiftly flew out from a Token outside the Soul Falling, glanced over the Soul Falling ahead, with words heard before leaving still echoing in his mind, heavy at heart:

“Even Master Chao has fallen…”

Feeling both sorrowful and furious at his demise, yet also bewildered at the uncertain future.

Three out of the four Mahayana of Duanhai Cliff’s Great Realm have already fallen, with two dead and one injured, and the Cloud Sky Realm has been breached. Based on the situation before he left, it’s likely only a matter of time before the Cloud Sky Realm is completely occupied.

Without the Cloud Sky Realm’s struggle with the Supreme True Buddha, there’s almost no chance to break through the Immortal Pass to release the Little Cang World.

Yet before he could think further, his heart warned him again!

“Where do you intend to escape?”

A gray figure suddenly appeared not far in front of him, with an expression of compassion mixed with greed, a priest’s robe with a missing sleeve revealing an arm and hand seemingly coated with gold powder. As soon as he appeared, he mobilized the unnamed mighty forces around him, reaching out toward Wang Ba!

It’s the Northern Great Bodhisattva!

Wang Ba’s heart sank, his wings instinctively fluttered behind him, withdrawing silently with a green wind, yet his methods had already been mastered by the Northern Great Bodhisattva, almost grasping his trajectory the instant he moved, sending a Buddha Bead shooting toward him!

Bam!

The Buddha Bead skillfully struck Wang Ba, and the Earth Yellow Treasure Light almost instantly flared up.

The light shook violently, even showing faint traces of cracks!

The Primordial Spirit trembled, the Land-Parting Staff nearly being shaken out.

Seeing that hand covered in gold powder reach at him, Wang Ba steadied his mind, though startled, not panicked. A monkey jumped from his sleeve at the instant the hand approached, holding two board tokens, furiously waving them at the giant hand.

The Northern Great Bodhisattva’s eyes narrowed, feeling the boundless mysteries surrounding that hand being flicked away by the two board tokens in an instant, forcing the hand to retract!

The pain was obvious, yet his heart filled with astonishment and suspicion:

“What on earth are these two board tokens?”

He had suffered once before, but no matter how he pondered, he couldn’t fathom the origin of these objects, or why they could completely ignore his defenses, as if Earth, water, fire, and wind had no effect on them at all.

Only from the way they were used could he vaguely perceive perhaps they could only be used at close range.

Apprehensive, his actions inevitably delayed slightly.

Wang Ba seized the opportunity. The Candle Dragon in his sleeve closed its eyes again, rendering the surroundings silent, engulfing everything in darkness!

The gray-robed monk seemed to expect this move. At the same moment when the Candle Dragon closed its eyes, he flashed outside the endless darkness, grabbing a string of Buddha beads around his neck and throwing them into it.

In an instant, a golden net descended towards the darkness controlled by the Candle Dragon.

Swish!

Almost as it was about to fall, a streak of green light shot out from within, narrowly avoiding the golden net, then suspended in the void, looking at the gray-robed monk with rare gloom in his eyes.

This monk was utterly relentless, just like the Arhat of Wisdom from before. Even after escaping countless miles using the Great Celestial Escape Divine Skill, he was pursued once again, the interval much shorter than with the Arhat of Wisdom.

His Spiritual Sense rapidly scanned the surroundings, feeling even heavier.

This vast expanse of void offered no reliance; given the opponent’s speed of arrival, losing him seemed almost impossible.

Sparing a glance at the Soul Falling before him, countless thoughts flashed through his mind, then transformed into a trace of cold determination.

Without the slightest hesitation, he immediately turned into green light, flying toward the depths of Soul Falling!

“Hmm?”

The Northern Great Bodhisattva’s golden net missed, yet he didn’t appear surprised. Seeing Wang Ba fly into the void like a deep swamp, he sneered, transforming into a gray beam, charging straight forward!

He sneered further:

“Layman Taiyi, three of the four Great Realms have fallen, even four Mahayana cannot oppose our Buddha Lord. Even if you stubbornly resist, how far can you really escape?”

“If you were to lay down your blade and join me…”

The voice paused slightly, a flash of gray light evading a faint golden sword light slashing forward, revealing a slightly annoyed shadow of the gray-robed monk:

“Stubborn and unyielding!”

Wang Ba struck with a sword yet didn’t linger a moment, his green light rushing into the depths of the Soul Falling!

His Spiritual Sense expanded to the extreme at that moment.

Floating stones, rolling Chaos Origin Substance, faint illusory sounds amplifying in the astral winds…and Demonic Beasts resembling Black Foxes rushing from the darkness and void.

The illusory sounds emanated from the mouths of those Demonic Beasts.

Countless illusory sounds relentlessly shook his Primordial Spirit in the drifting dimness.

Yet his Primordial Spirit, transformed by the “Ten Thousand Streams Return to Source” sutra, had the momentum of accepting all rivers, grounded in deep foundation, thus these illusory sounds had little effect on him.

He ignored it, rapidly passing those bewildered Black Foxes who hadn’t yet had time to ambush him, his Spiritual Sense meticulously scanning all around.

“That’s not right…”

“It’s not here either.”

“I remember it should be here before…”
