Lord of Myths: I Can Summon and Fuse Divine Powers.-Chapter 43: Battle in The Abandoned churChapter (1)
Epimetheus was surrounded by intense golden flames, which spread at an immeasurable speed throughout the place.
The old man smiled as the air around him began to crystallize, the keter was materializing.
A golden and silver mosaic network that began to overwrite reality with its own laws.
Epimetheus was rewriting the world using keter, forcing new axioms, as if he were contaminating the world’s own rules.
Anansi saw how the keter extended, and acted quickly.
She made a strange movement with her arms, which multiplied by three.
From her fingers emerged threads which she wove to form a net around her, delimiting an area.
The keter crashed forcefully against the net, but couldn’t penetrate its interior.
"I see you’re no longer going to use cheap tricks, it’s understandable considering that only your power could save you," Epimetheus exclaimed with a mocking smile on his face.
Those weren’t conventional threads, they were vectors traced to manipulate the history of whatever they touched.
They were like vectors that decided the direction and destiny of an element, making them deviate through the multiple routes their history could take.
Anansi wove a net that forced the keter not to penetrate a specific area.
As she did, one of her hands retracted, from it emerged threads which were tied to Damballa’s doll.
Anansi stored the wounded doll inside her pocket as her pupils changed.
"I have to admit you have quite an annoying ability, however, don’t think it will be enough to defeat me," the old man clarified as he jumped toward where Anansi was. "I just have to get a little closer!"
Epimetheus roared as his fist fell where Anansi was.
The witch quickly jumped from the place, escaping the blow.
As she did, she lowered one of her six arms, as she wove two threads stuck at the ends and with a hole in the middle.
Anansi had the ability to steal and weave stories, however, what happens when she weaves without any history?
In that hole a void was represented, an area without history or destiny that made it collapse with what was in its area.
By leaving something without a possible destiny, she forced it to disappear.
Anansi threw that connected thread as if it were a cut or a blade.
That void traveled at high speed toward Epimetheus.
"That’s dangerous," the priest admitted, as he moved to barely dodge the attack.
Then the "cut" kept traveling toward the veil that separated the worlds, tearing it.
Epimetheus’s eyes opened wide.
"Was that your plan from the beginning? How interesting," the priest admitted, however his keter quickly covered the torn area, blocking it. "But it won’t be enough."
However, Anansi had taken advantage of that distraction to weave some threads, which managed to touch the priest.
"I’ve got you," she affirmed, as the man’s arm twisted unnaturally.
With force, Anansi slammed Epimetheus against the ground, with such force that a crater formed from the impact.
In that hole of earth, the man could only smile.
"Pfft, you’re still using cheap tricks instead of going all out, are you underestimating me?" the old man asked, as he struck his shoulder with the palm of his hand.
His twisted arm fell to the ground, completely separated from the body.
The man smiled as his arm regenerated at high speed.
"If you’re not going to take me seriously, I’ll have to fini—"
Before he could continue, Anansi brought down all her arms, creating a giant net of void "cuts."
Epimetheus smiled satisfied, seeing how that powerful attack headed toward him, however, he didn’t seem worried.
The man raised his arm, almost as if digging his fingers into space, then, he turned his hand.
Space itself twisted, as if a vortex had been created in the canvas of the world.
Upon coming into contact with it, the net twisted creating a circular hole of the perfect size for Epimetheus to fit through.
The net passed by without doing him any harm, striking the world’s veil again.
"Interesting, but inefficient, as you can see it’s useless to use that attack against me," the man clarified with arrogance.
However, this time when tearing the veil that separates the worlds, the threads deformed until creating a large hole.
The keter tried to cover the hole but it was already too late.
The air spirits outside the veil heard Anansi’s call, and a large part of the external atmosphere penetrated inside the parallel world.
Great air currents began to spin like a whirlwind that destroyed everything in its path.
"Tch, do you really think spirit arts will be effective against me?" the priest asked confidently. "[Stop.]"
Epimetheus ordered, however, the air didn’t listen, which left him perplexed.
"How?" the man wondered as the air reached him.
Quickly he created a keter shield around him, a dome with mosaic geometry which blocked the immense air currents.
That’s when the priest realized, the air had Anansi’s threads inside it, which manipulated its history to prevent heka from being effective on them.
"Wow, you impressed me, your tricks aren’t that bad, however—" the man smiled as he snapped his fingers.
The air that had entered suddenly disappeared.
Using keter in space, Epimetheus had created a parallel micro-world in which he locked the whirlwind.
Confidently he turned toward Anansi, who was already preparing another attack.
Between her hands Anansi had woven a sphere.
A sphere made of threads in whose interior there was a "void in history" which was designed to erase from existence everything that encountered it.
"Wow, that will be problematic," the priest affirmed, as the sphere shot toward him.
His keter barrier was pierced like a bullet pierces through butter.
The sphere kept increasing in size, consuming everything it came into contact with.
Faced with that monstrous attack, what would Epimetheus do to survive?
Epimetheus had it clear, he didn’t have to overcomplicate things.
He flexed his legs while concentrating his orgone in his muscles and then shot out at incredible speed, cutting through the air at great speed outside the sphere’s range.
However, that was predicted by Anansi, who immediately snapped her fingers.
At that instant, the sphere exploded releasing itself as hundreds of thousands of cuts which spread omnidirectionally.
For the first time in the battle, Epimetheus felt fear.
