Lord of Myths: I Can Summon and Fuse Divine Powers.-Chapter 55: A Parasite, a Heroine and a Priest in the Secret Laboratory. (2)
The stars shone in the sky, like multicolored beacons illuminating the firmament.
The night was dark, but the spirits pulsed light intensely in it.
Silver and green colors were the protagonists in the landscape.
Painting reality itself with a veil of fantasy.
Alioth would have appreciated that beauty if not for the situation he found himself in.
Abzu had died, and he was facing a being much stronger than him.
Was he even human?
Alioth doubted that priest was still Vanir, it was obvious he had lost his humanity.
Alioth let out a long sigh, if that priest wasn’t enough, now he had to face multiple more enemies.
Monstrous chimeras that filled the room, and even peeked from above.
Even in the sky there were flying chimeras.
There were many, but Alioth wasn’t alone either.
He had Nora, and while it wasn’t clear if she would be strong enough to face so many, it was a comfort for the boy not to fight alone.
"Let the party begin!" the priest exclaimed as he raised his arms.
Saying those words, the chimeras fixed on both young people, and jumped toward them.
"Svalin!" Alioth exclaimed forcefully.
Upon doing so, the wind spirits around him glowed jade color, as if making clear they accepted the boy’s request.
As if it were spirit magic, the spirits around him began to spin.
The wind around him became violent, forming a dome of air around Alioth and Nora.
The wind spun at unthinkable speeds around them.
When the chimeras jumped on them, the air dome blocked their way.
The friction of the atmospheric shield tore the skin of some chimeras, making them "slip" and fall beside the wind dome.
Nora turned looking at Alioth skeptically.
"Is this your plan? Staying behind this air shield throughout the entire combat?" the girl asked with slight annoyance.
Alioth rolled his eyes at the blonde’s complaint.
Though at the same time he understood her point.
Nora was quite aggressive in combat, and felt great passion for battle.
But it wasn’t only because of that that she complained.
Alioth had just locked them in a defensive prison.
While it protected them, it also condemned them since they couldn’t escape either.
Sacrificing their freedom wasn’t the best option, and made the moment when the shield broke a sentence.
However, that wasn’t in Lloyd’s plans.
"No, that’s not my plan," the boy said as he touched the ground with the palms of his hand.
As he did, a scorpion tail pierced through the air shield.
While the air shield kept spinning around them, it didn’t mean it would last forever.
That was the proof, it wasn’t an unbreakable defense.
Nora turned to see Alioth with some impatience.
"Really? Then what is it?" she asked with curiosity.
As she did, another breach had opened in the shield.
Nora wanted to trust Alioth.
Until now, the boy hadn’t disappointed her, in fact, she felt certain admiration for him.
However, she was also realistic.
She knew Alioth had limits, after all his amount of ka was insignificant compared to hers.
In fact, it was insignificant compared to anyone’s.
Alioth himself wasn’t sure of himself, the truth is he didn’t know if his plan was going to work.
But it wasn’t about whether he could or couldn’t.
It was about that it had to work, or they would die.
It was simple survival.
"My plan? This one," the boy said, as he saw how the copper-colored spirits pulsed in the earth and gathered toward him. "[Ifmet]."
The boy pronounced seriously.
When the first golem Alioth had created was broken at the priest’s hands, the boy recovered the story of [Emet].
Or so he thought.
But the truth is he recovered incomplete parts of that myth, as if damaging that legend had damaged its memory.
However, that had also happened with the other "invocations" he had invoked.
Alioth wasn’t sure if those stories would be enough to materialize again.
That’s when he remembered something, how he had mixed two legends before to create Buidhearg.
What if he did the same so the legends would combine with each other?
That’s when he saw the solidified magma around him that the idea occurred to him.
He would mix the legend of Ifrit with that of Emet.
Thus [Ifmet] was born.
Upon pronouncing those words, the ground trembled.
The stone began to crack as smoke came out of the ground.
Then, in an instant, the earth began to rise beneath Nora and Alioth’s feet.
"Huh? What the hell is happening? What the hell did you do!?" Nora asked alarmed as the rock began to rise beneath her feet.
Alioth, unlike Nora, wasn’t alarmed, he was excited.
The result was much better than he had expected.
From the ground began to emerge a creature of titanic proportions.
In an instant, Nora and Alioth had left that room, now they saw the chimeras from above.
Beneath their feet now was a colossus several meters long, which looked intensely at its enemies.
It was composed of rock, a blackish rock, with multiple cracks that expelled an orange color from them due to the heat they gave off.
As if the magma were visible veins of the colossus.
The mixture had been a complete success, the result was a colossus that surely could have devastated the previous Ifrit and Emet.
The fusion of both stories resulted in a creature much more powerful than both parts.
"Tip the balance in our favor," the white-haired boy responded as he smiled.
The air shield around him vanished, it was no longer necessary.
Nora looked at what they were on, and her eyes shone with excitement.
"Wow! This is super cool!" the golden-haired girl exclaimed as she observed the world from above.
Alioth nodded, proud of his creation.
A colossus made of volcanic stone, without a doubt a powerful ally.
Alioth also thanked that the rock colossus’s head wasn’t too hot, since otherwise they would have had problems.
"I know, I guess now we’re not at a disadvantage anymore," Alioth affirmed calmly.
Having created that giant colossus had given him confidence.
Now there was a chance to escape.
