Love at First Sight? Mr. Harrison Has Been Scheming All Along-Chapter 225: "Sean Harrison, Is That Really Necessary?
"What did you say? Call Ryan?"
Noah Sterling thought he must have heard wrong.
Sean wasn’t going to go over himself. Instead, he wanted him to tell Ryan to come over?!
"Yeah, your nephew lives in the same building as her. If he sees her drinking, he’ll probably get her to go home."
Sean Harrison had long since figured out the connection between Ryan Sterling and Rory Linden.
He wouldn’t interfere, nor did he have the right to.
Noah was speechless. "I know my nephew best. He’s been a handful since he was a kid—almost gave his mother a heart attack. She finally gave up and handed him over to me. That kid’s gotten into all sorts of trouble."
"Then you go. You know her friend, right? Tell the friend to leave, and they’ll both go."
Sean lazily leaned back into the sofa by himself.
He held a rocks glass in his hand, and as he swirled his wrist, the sphere of ice inside clinked against the glass—a crisp sound that stood in stark contrast to his languid voice.
Noah couldn’t stand it anymore. He snatched the glass from Sean’s hand. "Sean Harrison, do you really have to be like this?"
Technically speaking, Sean Harrison was his boss.
They had known each other for a long time.
Over the years, he’d watched Sean return to the country with his funds and establish his first company.
When the company first started, Sean had partnered with his law firm.
The company expanded over the last few years, eventually completing a merger to become the Stellar Group it was today.
In recent years, Sean Harrison had skillfully navigated the complex relationships between the government and several established corporations. He hadn’t made a single misstep, which was how he’d achieved his current success.
And now, because of a woman, a man like that had been reduced to this.
Noah was disappointed.
"I’ve always believed I wasn’t in the wrong, but after seeing her attitude today, I’m starting to realize... maybe I was..."
Sean Harrison spread his arms wide, draping them over the back of the sofa.
He hadn’t just decided he had a mental illness based on a few words from a doctor after the car accident.
It was the culmination of many things, an emotional build-up over a long period of time.
Only after the car accident did he become more or less certain that something was truly wrong with him.
If Rory hadn’t talked about wanting children back then, he probably would have confessed everything and suggested they remain childfree.
Recalling what happened five years ago, Henry Lancaster couldn’t help but say, "Your mistake was being too ruthless. Back then, to see you, Rory waited for me for hours in the dead of winter, and you wouldn’t even grant her a single glance."
Sean tugged at the corner of his mouth. "I know, right? I can’t understand how I could have been so cruel back then either."
"How can you not understand?" Noah cut in. "You’ve always been like this. Once you set your sights on a goal or a task, you see it through to the end, no matter what."
"True."
As Henry Lancaster agreed, he was already texting the manager, telling him to get the male escorts out of that room immediately.
The manager was busy with work when the message came in, so he didn’t see it right away.
This bar’s manager used to work at another club and had a keen eye for people.
He could tell at a glance that the watch on Sherry Walsh’s wrist was not only expensive, but also genuine.
The manager eagerly got to work.
Rory hadn’t wanted to pick anyone, but to avoid spoiling Sherry’s fun, she casually pointed to a young-looking man in a sweatshirt.
Seeing Rory’s choice, Sherry couldn’t help but laugh. "So, this is your type."
After saying that, she called over the male escort she’d had her eye on.
Drinking always made Rory sleepy. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
She had been heartbroken just a moment ago and had drunk quite a bit, so now her eyelids were already starting to feel heavy.
The young man poured her a drink.
Rory sized up the boyish face before her and couldn’t help but ask, "How old are you? Are you still a student?"
"I... am."
The young man just went along with her assumption.
Rory held up her glass, looking at him, and called him out directly. "You’re lying."
The young man froze for a second, then quickly recited a well-rehearsed line. "I’m sorry. I could tell you’re a highly educated woman, and I was afraid you’d look down on me..."
Rory hated being lied to.
They had only exchanged a few words, but she was already growing tired of it.
But it was also Sherry’s first time hiring a male escort, and she was excitedly bombarding her own choice with questions about his identity, his daily routine, and why he got into this line of work.
After she finished her questions, she couldn’t resist asking, "Do you do outcalls?"
To play along with Sherry, Rory couldn’t just send her own escort away yet.
She finished her drink and handed the glass to the young man. "I’m a little tired. I’m going to rest for a bit. Just sit here. You can leave with the other guy when he goes."
Rory had been very busy the day before, and she often had to work night shifts.
With Leo’s kidnapping that afternoon, she had been on high alert for a long time.
Now, she was truly exhausted...
The young man obediently agreed.
A few minutes later, before Sherry had even finished her barrage of questions...
"I’m sorry, ladies, but these two gentlemen need to clock out for the night."
The manager pushed the door open and, after making the announcement, gestured for the two escorts to leave.
"Why?!" Sherry, emboldened by the alcohol, had a short fuse. "Don’t tell me you think we can’t afford it!"
"No, no," the manager explained hastily. "It’s truly due to special circumstances. They are unable to continue serving you."
"Did someone book out all your escorts? Haven’t you ever heard of first come, first served? Where’s your professional integrity?" Sherry was indignant. "I’ll have you know, I’m a lawyer. This is a breach of contract!"
The manager had thought simply calling the two escorts out would be the end of it.
He hadn’t expected to run into a tough customer like Sherry Walsh.
Sherry grabbed the hem of her escort’s shirt. "You’re not going anywhere. Stay right here."
After speaking, she turned to look at Rory. She found her slumped in the corner of the sofa, eyes shut tight. Sherry couldn’t tell if she was asleep or had been drugged.
Sherry immediately let go, her eyes darting warily to the young man in the sweatshirt, who had already reached the door. "What happened to her? You didn’t drug her, did you?"
"I didn’t! I didn’t!" the young man in the sweatshirt explained frantically. "She said she was tired and wanted to rest for a bit. She said I could just leave with my colleague later."
"Really?"
"Really! I swear!"
The young man in the sweatshirt raised his hand as if taking an oath.
"Ma’am," the manager chimed in, "while we do offer these kinds of services, we are a legitimate establishment. We would never do something like that."
Sherry scooted over to Rory’s side on the sofa and took a closer look.
She confirmed that Rory was, in fact, just asleep.
Sherry was still not pleased. "You’d better give me a clear explanation right now. Why are they leaving? If you don’t have a reasonable answer, I’m filing a formal complaint against you!"
The manager was sweating bullets.
If they were just ordinary customers, it would have been one thing.
But President Lancaster had just specifically told him that these two were very distinguished guests whom he absolutely could not afford to offend.
The problem was, President Lancaster had also told him not to reveal the truth.
Just as the manager was at a loss, Noah Sterling walked in from the doorway and said:
"Lawyer Walsh, my friend owns this place. We’re the ones who asked the manager to have these gentlemen leave."
