Love Command: Darling, Do You Yield?-Chapter 116 - 117 It’s Too Late 3
Brandan Hyde raised his hand and threw that stack of documents into the trash can.
Iris Harris turned her head, watching his actions. The next second, her wrist was grasped by Brandan Hyde and pressed against the wall.
"Iris Harris, what exactly are you fussing about?"
His tone was practically through gritted teeth.
"Isn’t it enough? Do you want me dead before you’re satisfied? Didn’t you say you loved me? Then, what is this now? Is your love for me so shallow?"
"..." Iris Harris listened to his words, her eyes, like autumn waters, quietly gazing at his face, "Brandan... do you know how much I love you? If you had wanted me to die back then, I would have done so without a word. But you can’t treat me as if I’m not human... It’s been ten years, and I can’t take it anymore." She raised her hand, grasped his fingers, and pressed them against her abdomen, "The baby is gone, Brandan, our baby is already dead."
Tears slowly welled up in her eyes.
"Congratulations, indeed, everything in the world unfolds as you wished. The child you said you didn’t want, truly couldn’t stay."
"It never expected that its father would not want it." She burst into tears, "If only it hadn’t come to be in my belly, then it would have lived well..."
Brandan Hyde’s heart suddenly twitched slightly with her words.
Indeed... that child was already gone.
He had also seen the bloodstains on her skirt that day.
Still, he couldn’t control the tears.
She could never forget the feeling of losing it, the pain numbing, and the irreversible loss.
Her only child, the first child, would also be the last child.
Killed by his own hands.
"That day..." Brandan Hyde looked at her tears and couldn’t help but ask, "What exactly happened?"
Why did the child miscarry... how did she end up there, what about those kidnappers?
He couldn’t figure it out.
Iris Harris wiped her tears and took a deep breath, "It has nothing to do with you."
"Iris Harris!"
Iris Harris looked at him: "Even if you knew, what could you possibly retrieve?" She smiled slightly, but her gaze was cold, "Besides handing me over to them, what else can you do?"
Looking at Iris Harris like this, Brandan Hyde couldn’t help but feel a little disheartened.
She seemed determined to never let go of that matter.
Obviously, it was all in the past already...
He lowered his eyes, held her hand, and whispered, "I know you like children."
"..."
"We will have many children in the future."
"..."
"Please don’t be mad at me anymore, okay?"
He had never spoken so softly to anyone before.
He wanted to make her a little bit happier, not looking at him so coldly.
But Iris Harris laughed.
She shook off Brandan Hyde’s hand, "How could everything in this world possibly go according to your wishes?"
There will never be any more children.
She thought coldly; how could there be any more children.
Miracles happen only once; if everything could go her way every time, what would be miraculous about that?
Looking at her cold gaze, Brandan Hyde couldn’t help but feel a little helpless: "Iris, what exactly do you want me to do?"
"I want you to divorce me," she looked at him, "Afterward, we go our separate ways, won’t it be better?"
"Don’t even think about it!" Brandan Hyde denied her words in one breath, "Since you got involved with me, unless I say it’s over, don’t even think about leaving!"
