Love Command: Darling, Do You Yield?-Chapter 137 - 138 Dispute 1
"Thank you."
Iris Harris smiled, "Goodbye then."
"Mm, goodbye."
William Moore stood quietly in place, watching as Iris Harris’s figure slowly faded into the distance. The dim light highlighted her slender and graceful silhouette deeply etched into his deep-set eyes.
Once Iris Harris’s image completely disappeared from his sight, William Moore slowly withdrew his gaze.
A fleeting trace of pain crossed his face inadvertently.
Love unfulfilled.
He could only watch helplessly as the woman he adored returned to another man’s side, powerless as she endured all the grievances.
If only he had met her earlier... 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
Countless times he had thought this way, perhaps love really makes even the strongest hearts vulnerable.
Some people can only cultivate their hearts once, after which they prefer it to lie fallow. Later arrivals can only watch as it becomes barren and dies.
He knew that Iris Harris was one of those people.
Thus, his feelings would forever be buried within him, never having a chance to take root and sprout.
********************
Iris Harris took a ride back to the Hyde Residence in William Moore’s chauffeur’s car.
It was already late, the vast mansion shrouded in darkness, even the lights in the lobby were turned off, giving a somewhat eerie atmosphere.
Iris Harris bid farewell to the driver, then rose and entered the living room, the cold moonlight casting shadows across the floor, revealing a faint outline on the sofa not far away.
Iris Harris paused, and as she was about to turn on the light, she instinctively looked towards the sofa and saw Brandan Hyde’s slightly cold and handsome face.
"..."
Why is he here?
Iris Harris furrowed her brows, retracted her gaze, then silently headed upstairs.
"Why are you coming back so late?"
The man’s chilly voice came from behind her, Iris Harris pressed her lips together slightly, still not speaking.
She didn’t feel she needed to explain anything, after all, didn’t he know where she was?
He had sent so many people to monitor her.
Iris Harris walked forward, with a "bang!" Brandan Hyde kicked over the coffee table in front of him.
Iris Harris froze momentarily, instinctively turning back to see a tall figure slowly approaching her direction.
At that instant, she unexpectedly felt a surge of fear, wanting to escape.
Iris Harris quickly turned to run upstairs, but barely taking two steps, Brandan Hyde grabbed her wrist, standing at the base of the stairs, his grip painfully tight.
She looked down at the man’s angry face in front of her, slightly moved her lips: "Let go."
Brandan Hyde’s dark eyes fixed on her, as if he was going to devour her: "Iris Harris, I ask you—who were you with so late?!"
"You know well, don’t you?" Her tone carried a hint of sarcasm, "You’re well aware of my whereabouts."
"Then you should know, as my wife, you shouldn’t be out with another man till the dead of night!"
"Out?" Iris Harris chuckled, "Brandan Hyde, please watch your words. My relationship with Xavier Gambon isn’t something for you to meddle in!"
Jealousy like poison, gnawed at his heart.
Brandan Hyde almost wanted to strangle this woman before him!
His vision darkened with anger, fiercely gripping Iris Harris’s wrist, he was barely able to control his strength.
The strong scent of alcohol lingered on her, she had been drinking, with another man, he had waited from the end of his work till the late night, thinking she might spend the night at William Moore’s place...
