Love Command: Darling, Do You Yield?-Chapter 160 - 161: Do you still remember what happened five years ago?
Is this what utter despair feels like?
She had always been very pessimistic, only ever striving because of Brandan’s promise, and now she finally let go.
That person will never return.
Let’s just say he died ten years ago.
After ten years, she can finally go to their once-promised meeting, a rendezvous that ends in death—there’s no choice but to accept it.

Lady Hyde came out of the hospital room, her eyes were terribly swollen.
Brandan sat on a nearby bench, a cigarette in his hand.
At his feet, a pile of ash had accumulated, suggesting that while Lady Hyde was visiting Iris in the room, Brandan had been smoking outside the door.
In the thin mist, Brandan’s expression seemed somewhat grim, his brows tightly furrowed and his eyes heavy, as if he had a lot on his mind.
Lady Hyde walked over, sat down beside Brandan, and asked softly, "Do you know Iris’s thoughts?"
Brandan exhaled a cloud of smoke slowly, replying in an indifferent tone, "She refuses to get treated, doesn’t she?"
Lady Hyde lowered her head, giving a gentle sigh, "She promised me she would treat her illness properly, but I can see that she doesn’t intend to."
She’s so young; how did it come to this?
Once more, Lady Hyde felt a wave of sadness, gently sniffing.
Brandan slowly brushed off the ash from his fingers, his eyes fixed on the floating dust in the air, lost for words for a moment.
He really had no right to criticize her for anything.
He was the one who drove her to become like this.
Iris was right; he had no right to manage her.
If he truly cared for her, he would respect her wishes and let her go.
Perhaps he truly was a bastard, selfish even now, forcing her even now.
His desire for her to live might just be his selfishness, just because he couldn’t bear the thought.
Swirls of chaotic emotions lingered in his mind, and Brandan closed his eyes, calming himself slowly.
He truly understood it clearly now.
He wouldn’t let her die.
By any means necessary, he would keep her here.
That was just the kind of selfish person he is.
"Brandan," Lady Hyde turned her head to look at him, "about those kidnappers, have you discovered anything?"
More than three months had passed since the incident.
Had Brandan stopped investigating?
Those people took Viola Harris in River City; they couldn’t possibly have left no trace.
Brandan shook his head in response to the question.
"I don’t know what’s going on." He frowned deeply, "I haven’t received any information about them leaving the city."
Logically, after getting those five hundred million, they shouldn’t stay in River City.
Yet none of the clues he laid out led to any trace of those people.
Once they appeared, he was confident he could find that group, but strangely, they vanished like a drop of water into the ocean, leaving no trace after they emerged.
If they hadn’t left the city, that means they should still be in River City.
If they were in River City, he was fully confident he could capture them all in one swoop.
But no such thing happened.
He neither received news of them leaving the city nor found any traces of them within the city.
It was as if...someone deliberately concealed their tracks.
Yet in River City, how could someone hide a group of people right under his nose?
Nonetheless, that was the reality—he had no information at all.
He couldn’t even avenge her.
"Is it like that again..."
Upon hearing this, Lady Hyde gently furrowed her brows.
"Brandan, do you remember what happened five years ago?"
Five years ago, someone hit Brandan with a car. After Viola Harris pushed him out of the way to save him, they also offered a substantial reward for the driver, yet they could never find the person responsible no matter how they searched.
