Chapter 185: Chapter 186

Iris Harris woke up to find it was already dark outside.

She had been feeling drowsy lately, perhaps due to her illness, even her sense of time had become a bit blurred.

She went downstairs to eat, then took a walk in the garden. Brandan Hyde and Lady Hyde were nowhere to be found, leaving her alone at home. When she returned to the living room, a servant promptly handed her the medication, reminding her to take it.

Although she knew well that these medicines to boost her immunity were no longer effective for her, Brandan Hyde remained very particular about her medication. Even when he wasn’t home, the servants would deliver the medicine on time.

After finishing the medicine, Iris sat on the sofa watching TV for a while, then got up to leave the room, heading outside.

A sound of an engine came from outside, and a black Cayenne parked on the lawn. A tall figure gracefully stepped out of the car.

Iris put down the remote control, got up from the sofa, and turned to go upstairs.

Brandan Hyde entered from outside and only saw Iris’s figure ascending the stairs. He removed his tie and handed his suit jacket to a servant. He had just attended a business banquet, the scent of women’s perfume and red wine lingered on him.

"What was she doing just now?"

The servant respectfully took the suit jacket, lowered her eyes, and replied, "Miss Harris was watching TV."

"Did she go upstairs as soon as I came back?"

"..." The servant awkwardly tugged at her mouth, unsure whether to say yes or no.

Brandan Hyde didn’t seem particularly angry; he even smiled, nodded to the servant, and said, "I understand. You may go."

"...Yes."

The servant breathed a sigh of relief, lifted her head, and saw Brandan Hyde casually heading upstairs. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

Staring at Brandan Hyde’s departing figure, the servant slightly pursed her lips.

Lately, she wasn’t sure if it was just her impression, but she felt that Young Hyde seemed much more steady.

Previously at home, his thoughts were always plainly visible, but now, he had become much more reserved; sometimes when he spoke, it was hard to discern his intentions.

Such changes—whether they were good or bad—remained unknown...

She lowered her gaze, looking at the suit jacket in her hands, and let out a silent sigh.

As servants of the Hyde Residence, they naturally had a fondness for Brandan Hyde. Now that Brandan Hyde had changed, they couldn’t help but feel a bit concerned.

****************************

Brandan Hyde opened the door and saw Iris Harris standing on the balcony.

The night wind was strong, blowing her long hair that hung down her back, giving her an ethereal appearance.

It seemed like she heard the noise, as Iris Harris turned around, looking at him with bright eyes.

Brandan Hyde walked over, put a blanket around her slender shoulders, and held her fingers resting on the railing, checking their temperature.

Her hands were very cold.

Frowning slightly, Brandan Hyde softly said, "Come inside. Catching a cold isn’t good."

Even a small cold nowadays was life-threatening for her.

Iris Harris glanced at him, seemingly unwilling to argue, submissively letting him lead her inside.

Brandan Hyde guided her to stand by the bed. Iris Harris stood there for a moment, realizing he hadn’t left, feeling a bit puzzled, she raised her head and gave him a curious look.

Brandan Hyde looked at her and spoke softly, "I know you didn’t sleep that night."

Iris Harris paused slightly upon hearing his words.

Which night was it?

"Regarding what I said that night, what do you think?"
