Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 766: Another Failure
Arielle was still trying to communicate with Maxieno to get more information. In her subconscious, she returned to the white room. Maxieno sat boredly on his throne. His hair looked a bit longer than usual.
"You didn’t cut your hair?" asked Arielle.
"No one did it for me."
Arielle refrained herself from smiling, remembering that this was the first time Maxieno talked to her after the several forced meetings they had.
"Where’s Otis? Isn’t it Otis who always cuts your hair?"
"Otis is not with me. He is busy with his own business. That old man... If he comes back, I’ll kill him and burn him to ashes with my flames."
"What’s Otis doing?" asked Arielle curiously. She was trying to get Maxieno to talk casually with her.
From their previous meeting, Arielle knew that if she immediately asked something, the man would dodge the question or disappear right away.
"I don’t know. The man is very busy with his flowers, even saying weird things that make me want to puke. He’s also been giving me weird looks lately. I’ve tried to dig into his head, but he always covers it tightly."
Arielle didn’t want to tell Maxieno that the man seemed worried about Otis. It would only offend his ego. She chose to keep her mouth shut.
"I just want to tell you that maybe in the future, I won’t call you as often as I used."
"Well, that’s good. This is already getting annoying. Just the sight of Otis’ face was enough to make me sick, and to see your face almost everyday only worsened it. I hope I never see your face again."
"Maxieno... you are really mean."
Maxieno narrowed his eyes in annoyance. "Whatever. You ungrateful human."
"I always be grateful and say thank you all the time in our meeting, Maxieno. You’re the one who doesn’t listen carefully to my words."
Maxieno squinted his eyes even more. His annoyance increased significantly.
"Ah, one more thing. May I ask for your help?" asked Arielle before Maxieno leave again.
"No."
"Okay, please let me know if you find someone named Eden."
Maxieno clicked his tongue before he disappeared along with his throne. Arielle was the same. Her consciousness was slowly returning. When she opened her eyes, Ronan sat beside her. The man always accompanied her every time she tried to communicate with Maxieno.
"How is it? Is there any progress?" asked Ronan without looking at Arielle. The man was more focused on treating his wife’s wounds with bandages.
"There isn’t any. Maxieno looks more and more irritated lately."
Ronan didn’t give any comment. He knew that what he was about to say wouldn’t be able to change his wife’s mind. He felt like communicating with Maxieno was the most useless thing they ever did. He actually wanted his wife to stop and just meet the dragon in Thebis later.
Even if that damned red dragon went to hell, Ronan wouldn’t care.
"It seems Otis has annoyed Maxieno lately."
"Hm."
"I don’t know what Otis is doing. Maxieno really didn’t want to look at me at all."
"Hufft... Let me say something." Ronan finished treating the small wound made by Arielle to trigger the communication between her and Maxieno.
"What’s wrong, Ronan?"
"I’m jealous." He said it out loud.
"You are jealous?" asked Arielle in a teasing tone.
"Yup. So fucking jealous."
Arielle was grateful that Ronan always faithfully treated the small wounds she made to be able to communicate with Maxieno, although the results of her meeting with the dragon were futile.
"I’ve been trying to restrain myself from preventing you from meeting that dragon. So please, when it’s just the two of us, I don’t want you to say any man’s name. I want you to focus only on me. I know that sounds totally irrational, but I don’t really like it, how other men’s names come out of your lips."
Arielle raised her hand and touched the side of Ronan’s face that had a scar. She then gave Ronan a soft kiss on the cheek. It wasn’t the first time her husband had been like this. Arielle was used to the man’s jealous nature, and she didn’t mind it at all.
Her thin arms wrapped around Ronan’s neck, and the man pulled Arielle to sit on his lap, erasing the distance between them. Arielle then channeled a little of her power to warm her husband so that he could relax more.
However, this time was different.
Arielle knew well that there was something else. Ronan wasn’t just jealous. There was something else bothering him.
"Hah... I can’t imagine myself having to part with you."
Hearing that, Arielle seemed to understand her husband’s anxiety.
"You do it quite often, Ronan. Last month, you went to the border for almost a week."
"That’s because I left you in the palace. You have Kael and Lazarus watching over you here."
"And later, there will be William and the troop sent by Princess Zohra to protect me."
Ronan nodded. Arielle was a powerful girl right now. He knew his wife’s abilities more than anyone. Arielle was no longer a clumsy princess from the neighboring kingdom who couldn’t do anything.
Arielle had authority, as well as power. Perhaps... with the power she currently had, even Ronan could be killed easily by her.
Arielle cupped her husband’s sullen face.
"You know very well that I can take care of myself, right? I’m not the Arielle I used to be," she whispered in front of her husband’s lips.
Ronan deliberately pursed his lips to steal a kiss, but Arielle teased him by pulling her body away.
"I know. You can go. I give you permission to burn them all if they don’t treat you well."
"Fine, I’ll burn them all if they make me uncomfortable."
Of course Arielle wouldn’t do that. She would never do something so heartless as that. However, for the sake of making her husband’s heart feel at ease, she agreed with it.
Ronan put his hand on Arielle’s back, lifting the girl’s body to lie under him.
"And now burn me too. With your desire."
