Lucifer: Godless Reawakening-Chapter 236: The morning after
The two lovebirds were lying on the bed, their bodies still bare, their breaths slightly uneven.
More than three hours.
"I used to think I was different from those perverts who always have their minds occupied with sex. But now, I might need to rethink that opinion," William said with a helpless smile.
Emma chuckled. "Well, it surprised me too. Still, I’m relieved I was able to make you that excited."
William scoffed. "Of course you would. My feelings aside, you have a charming body, Emma." Growling he added, "I can’t even describe how jealous I feel when I see someone checking you out. I nearly murdered a bunch of kids back at the academy."
Emma grinned and shifted, resting her head on his chest.
Looking into his eyes, she said, "Same here. Forget our classmates, even a few professors look at you in ways that make my entire being want to pluck out their eyes and make them choke."
William kissed her hand, the smile never leaving his face. "Looks like we’re both crazy about each other."
Emma hummed softly and nestled her face against his chest, letting out a sigh of relief.
As his fingers traced her back, he asked gently, "Did I hurt you?"
Emma shook her head lightly. "No... you were very careful. To the point that I almost felt like this wasn’t your first time."
William chuckled. "You know I wouldn’t lie to you about that."
Emma huffed. "Who knows. You were so attached to your ex that you might have had a late night encounter with her."
William didn’t feel offended. He knew his girlfriend needed reassurance.
It wasn’t the first time Emma’s mood turned bitter whenever Lizel crossed her mind.
He pulled her closer and hugged her lightly.
"My dearest, haven’t I told you already? I never loved her the way I love you."
Emma looked up at him and said quietly, "But she still holds the title of being the former fiancée of Delimore William."
"But you’re my current fiancée, aren’t you?" William asked with a fond smile.
Emma grumbled, "I don’t see a ring on my finger." She pouted. "I know I must sound demanding, but I want to flash my ring in front of others and let them know this man is mine now."
In this world, there was no strict custom that required a ring ceremony to declare an engagement.
However, being a little emotional at the moment, Emma began voicing the desires she had been holding back for quite some time.
William took her hand and said, "I promise you, by tomorrow, there will be a beautiful ring on this finger."
Emma smiled brightly. "Okay."
She moved closer and pressed her lips against his. "Knew you would agree."
William chuckled and flipped her onto the bed.
Looking into her eyes, he said, "Must be nice having me wrapped around your little finger, eh?"
Emma smiled innocently. "I really don’t know what my darling is talking about."
William froze, his entire body growing hot as he said, "Call me that again."
Emma hummed softly. "What?" She feigned ignorance.
William growled, a dangerous smile lifting the edges of his lips, "You know exactly what. Now don’t be mean-"
"Dah~ling." She whispered in a way that had William turn rigid once again.
Something began to rise. And soon, Emma learned the price of teasing her beloved.
....
[Next morning]
Emma groaned in her sleep as she tried to move, only to be met with a sharp pain shooting through her waist.
She slowly opened her eyes and found a familiar face resting close to hers.
Her lips curved into a smile as she watched him in silence for a few moments.
Last night, something incredible had happened.
Counting both lives, this was her first time having sex.
She had read about it before, but no amount of reading or watching could ever compare to the real thing.
The experience carried countless emotions. Excitement, pain, elation, and an overwhelming sense of love.
When Emma woke up in this world and realized she had become the female lead of the story, romance was the last thing on her mind.
She disliked the protagonist, her so-called fated partner, from the very beginning because of his personality. As the years passed, no one ever truly caught her interest.
And then, all of a sudden, one night changed everything.
She found herself drawn to someone who was supposed to be nothing more than a minor villain. Someone who existed only to insult the main character before being killed by him.
Emma still had no idea what had come over her that day, why she could not stop herself from following William out of that ceremonial hall.
That was the day she saw his real self.
Despite everything he said, she knew those tears were real. The pain in his eyes was real.
He was hurting. He was cornered. And he was completely alone.
It took only a single glance for her to understand William Delimore more deeply than she had ever understood Kevin.
She followed him everywhere. Her eyes yearned to see more of him. No matter the act he put on in front of her, she could not stop looking his way.
Slowly, she grew so fond of him that the very thought of something happening to him filled her with dread.
She had been warned. First by her father, then by the shaman. Yet she could not bring herself to leave him bound by those chains.
Even now, she was grateful to her past self for taking that step.
"What has you staring at me so intently this early?" a hoarse voice broke her thoughts as she saw his eyelids part slightly.
She shook her head. "I was just thinking about our past."
William hummed in curiosity. "Don’t tell me you’re remembering all those curses I threw at you."
Emma chuckled. "That too. I also remember the time you called me a harlot for sitting at the same table as a classmate, just because there were no other seats left."
William grimaced. "Now don’t start with that. This was supposed to be a sweet morning."
Emma chuckled, "Who said it isn’t sweet? I had my sweet time watching your sleeping face."
William hummed, "Well, as soon as we step out, I have a feeling this peace would be ruined."
Emma wryly smiled, "I think so as well."
William shrugged, "Well, screw it. Anyway, do you want to visit Nana before returning to the island?"
Emma blinked in surprise, "Are you sure?"
William nodded, "Of course. What worst could they do for breaking rules? Kick us out? I will gladly accept that."
Emma smiled and then said, "Alright then, let’s get going-ah." She was about to get up only to wince in pain.
William instantly rose to his knees and asked, "Does it still hurt? Why don’t you heal yourself?"
Emma smilingly shook her head and said, "Nope...I want to experience this pain... Another sweet thing about this morning."
William helplessly smiled and shook his head.
Lifting her in his arms he said, "Then at least let me help you."
