Anyway, back to the present. Leon continued to follow Linxu in secret. He was able to run very fast without making noise in his cat form which made Linxu unable to spot him despite looking back several times.

After almost an hour, Linxu came to the edge of a cliff that marked the back of the sect. In front of her, the ground straightened down for several tens of meters, and over five hundred meters away was the cave which was the cold cell where the first Elder was locked up; the entire place from here to the cave was rocky ground without any place to hide, Leon could not continue following her else he would definitely be discovered.

"There’s no helping it, I’ll just wait for her here; at least I can use this to blackmail her," Leon mumbled with a shameless glint in his eyes.

He watched as Linxu jumped off and rushed toward the cave in her distance and entered. Since he wasn’t able to follow her, he didn’t know what happened after she entered.

Leon waited for several minutes before a figure appeared by the entrance of the cold cell, Linxu was out.

Leon observed her from a distance but didn’t find anything wrong with her, she looked the same as when she first entered. He looked past her and was confused to see that there was no one behind her.

"Didn’t she go to free the first Elder and allow her to escape?" He wondered.

"Forget it, I’ll get her to spill everything after subduing her." Leon transformed into his human form and smirked, his eyes following Linxu’s movements as she returned. Leon quickly found a place to hide and wait for her.

Very few minutes passed before Linxu returned to the cliff, she looked around again before attempting to enter the sect.

Just then, a voice sounded from the corner, startling her so much that her heart almost jumped out of her chest.

"Senior sister, where are you coming from?" Leon’s calm voice drifted through the night wind.

Linxu’s body jerked uncontrollably, and she almost jumped; her head swiftly turned and looked at Leon; she could feel her heartbeat loudly inside her chest and even suspected that Leon could hear it too.

"J-junior brother, why are you here by this time?" Linxu patted her chest and asked, her tone wasn’t as unfriendly as before; her eyes darted between Leon’s figure and the cave in the distance.

She must be thinking if Leon had seen her.

"Nothing really. I followed a figure here, but they suddenly vanished; it’s surprising that they were dressed the same way as Senior sister." Leon said with a mischievous smile on her face.

Linxu’s body stiffened and her heart dropped, a feeling of dread slowly creeping its way into her heart.

"W-w-what do you mean, junior brother?" She stuttered.

"Eh? Why are you flustered? Are you all right?" Leon asked and moved toward her. Linxu immediately flinched and moved back.

"W-what did you see?" She asked while staring at Leon vigilantly.

"I don’t know. Did you want me to see anything?" Leon smirked and blinked at her.

Linxu’s eyes narrowed as she realized that Leon must have seen everything and was just toying with her.

A short dagger suddenly appeared from under her sleeves, blocked by her fingers, but Leon was able to catch the cold gleam of the dagger’s blade; his eyes narrowed, and Linxu had also suddenly gone quiet.

The two stayed mute for a few seconds before Linxu suddenly said.

"Sorry, junior brother, I never really liked you. So, die!" She said.

Her voice started calmly at first but suddenly turned into a mad shriek when she asked him to die, she shot toward him at the same time she said the last word.

The dagger fully came out from under her sleeve, she grabbed it and aimed for Leon’s throat; it would have been different to see the dagger since it was very dark, which would make one unable to react.

But Leon was prepared, he had long seen through her schemes.

Immediately after she shot toward him, he drove the Qi in his body through his meridians and slapped out with his palm.

A huge blue palm that lit up the place for a moment appeared in front of him and shot toward Linxu.

Her eyes widened, she never anticipated that Leon would be able to react to her sneak attack. The appearance of the blue palm shocked her even more, she was unable to react and could only watch her dagger crash into the big blue palm.
