Lunar Awakening-Chapter 81: Battle Of Titans (1).
There was a cacophony of elated screams coming from the massive amphitheatre, the sounds were so loud that it shook the entire of glory base. The cause of all this excitement was from the heart of the colloseum that stood at the center of glory base, it had only one purpose-- to hold the seasonal tournament of champions that happened in every base and region of the Hellscape.
The time had come again to know the strongest awakened in glory base, but the true reason for all the elation was the two combatants who were meant to be engaged in brutal combat in the middle of the ringed space dedicated for combat.
The seats were so stacked that some had to stand just to see what they expected would be the greatest fight since the history of the glory base. The commentator screamed into an artifact that was in the shape of a curved bulls horn and acted as a sound type artifact making his voice heard across the colloseum and over shadowing the wails of the masses somehow.
"Ladies and gentlemen, awakened of all ages and sizes... We are all gathered here today to witness the fohht of a century. The battle of two titans!"
Everyone boomed and wailed at the top of their voice.
The commentator rode on their wave of ecstacy. "Coming out first is our current number one champion who has only recently dethroned Goliath who was originally unbeatable and taken the title of indomitable. She is known more by the title of goddess of fate, Cassandra Hearth!"
Everyone wailed as a young woman girded from the neck down in beautiful golden armour stepped out unto the scene causing everyone to cheer even more. Her hair was tied neatly in a ponytail. Her armour had gaps at every juncture that allowed for her to breath and move effectively, this gaps were filled with leather clothing.
Her face had a dignified look, not one to be easily intimidated or impressed as she walked through the gate and into the inner ring of the colloseum to await her fate.
"She had had over ten wins and no losses..." The commentator continued to talk in the background.
Cassandra did not acknowledge the crowd or tried to role them up any more than they already were, she simply stood there like a hunter-- waiting.
A few moments later the second person was called out and this one called for even more chorus of cheers from the audience. It was like someone had ignited a new wave of euphoria into the crowd.
"Coming from the other side is a new comer who has redefined the odds of what it means to be a titan within this dreaded colloseum. He just known as the elusive black knight, Curses!!"
The second combatant was a tall black armour that did not reflect the light of the sun, instead it absorbed it like an empty black voice. The armoured combatant walked to the inner ring in slow heavy steps, exuding aura and authority.
There was no remark from him to the crowd, no wanted movement only a simple goal in mind. To beat the strongest and become the new strongest.
Or perhaps this person had another goal.
After all he had only made his appearance some months back by winning several great battles— of was it one great battle. However there were many great myths surrounding the titular hero, some said he was a demon who spawned from the deepest, darkest depths of hell. Others said he was merely a man who fought for the people.
The one thing that was widely known however was his spokens person, the scion of a great family. William Vincenzo who claimed to have met the black knight in a fields of dead beasts. William was also known to be one of the very few people to converse with the black knight, since they were notably business partners.
Whatever rumours surrounded the strange black knight only fueled his popularity within the base.
"We love you Curses!"
"Take down that bitch!"
"Inspire us with more words of wisdom, great master."
The bell rang signifying the start of the fight, the two figures standing in the inner ring did not move for several seconds. It felt like they were merely accessing themselves rather than fighting each other, no one except for a select few understood what was happening in the field of battle.
Like a candle being sniffed out in the wind, the two figures suddenly charged at each other. Summoning their artifacts as they closed in to an inevitable clash, the woman in golden armour summoned a long silver spear while the armoured knight seemed to fight with what seemed like black claws that protruded from his hands.
When they clashed however the ground under them caved in from a shockwave so massive it sent a massive flurry of wind rushing towards the crowd.
Sparks flew off as the black knight took the offensive, his technique violent and unpredictable. But the young woman in gold was the complete opposite, her technique was flawless and refined, there was no wasted movement of delaying them.
Yet somehow the battle had an air to it that no one could quite place, these two did not fight as enemies but as lovers of the battlefield.
They both flight to win.
A blaze of purple flame shot out of the visor of the black knight as he slashed forwards with an immense force and speed that he cut through her face. It was only a slight cut that drew blood but it drew the gasps of everyone within the colloseum.
It was the first time they had ever drawn blood from the unbeatable genius.
From then on the haggle escalated to a level and scope never before seen. It was a day that was destined to go down as the biggest fight in the history of glory base.
To understand the enmity that had stemmed between these two previously unaffiliated figures one had to go back in time by three months.
