Chapter 103: Chapter 103

Sebastian clicked his tongue, trying his best to hide his annoyance when he saw Arthur’s car tailing him closely. He wanted to have some sweet conversation with his wife, but with that fly buzzing around, he ought to just drive to the office and focus on his meeting with Lucien LeBlanc instead.

Thus, they arrived at the Goldmine Realty’s office quite early in the morning. Sebastian parked his car at the reserved spot and then got out of his car earlier than Winter.

He walked around his car just to open Winter’s door with a big smile. He offered his hand and said, "Let’s go, wife."

Winter saw Arthur who stood around three feet away from her. He looked hurt because of this, but she ignored him.

She accepted Sebastian’s hand, and they walked to the office together.

Everyone in the lobby shot their gazes at the pair of newlyweds, and was awed by their aura, especially Winter who was wearing a black dress, staring straight with a calm gaze, yet had so much pressure in it.

She walked with sure steps while keeping her balance, making her look like she was floating. Like a lady who came straight out of a historical romance fiction.

Meanwhile, Sebastian tried to maintain his dignity as well, but he was caught grinning when Winter grabbed his arm as they walked side by side.

It was almost comical seeing the usually tense and stern Mr. Saenz grinning like an idiot. But it was also a breath of fresh air because people in the company had been suspecting him of marrying Madam Winter for money.

Sebastian noticed the curious gaze around them, so he leaned toward Winter and whispered, "People are looking at us."

"So?" Winter didn’t seem to be bothered by it, which made Sebastian even happier. So happy that he could explode into hundreds of fireworks right now.

Winter also noticed those gazes, and she would be lying if she said that wasn’t nervous.

She knew there must be Camilla’s lackey somewhere in this lobby, and that hag would probably do something in retaliation after knowing that Winter and Sebastian were on good terms together.

Camilla was that type of controlling mother who would constantly steer Sebastian’s mind so he would do anything as she saw fit.

’That emotional incestuous boy mom needs to be stopped,’ Winter thought. ’I missed the chance to create a good relationship with Sebastian in my previous life. But since the current Sebastian doesn’t seem to be very close with Camilla, I need to make sure that he will take my side instead of his mom.’

And the first thing she did was to let Camilla know how harmonious their marital relationship was. After that, Winter would be able to see what kind of move Camilla would make.

She glanced at Sebastian who seemed so happy. No matter how hard he tried to hide his smile, it was obvious that he enjoyed this intimacy between them.

Winter had a thin smile seeing how innocent Sebastian looked. It reminded her she could at least maintain a somewhat normal husband and wife-relationship.

’Though, I’m not sure if this will last long. We’re newlyweds after all, who knows what’ll happen once I get older.’

The staff in the lobby seemed happy to see how Madam Winter and Mr. Saenz looked so harmoniously together. Except for one woman who panicked instead.

She bit her lower lip, wondering if she should inform Madam Camilla about this.

’I don’t want to ruin Madam Winter and Mr. Saenz’s happiness. They look so good together. But if I don’t report this to that loan shark, she might kill my dad in exchange,’ Isabella had a little dilemma until she nodded and grabbed her phone to text her real boss. ’I’m so sorry, Madam Winter. I need my dad to live.’

Winter and Sebastian entered the meeting room and were surprised to see that Lucien was already there with his secretary.

"Why are you so early, Lucien?" Winter asked casually as she shook his hand. "Our meeting is at nine."

"I know. I just can’t wait to see you today, Winter," Lucien smiled, blatantly ignoring Sebastian whose gaze was so dark right next to her. "Oh, by the way, I have this little gift for you."

Lucien snapped his fingers, and the secretary handed him a small box with a velvet exterior. It was the necklace that he bought last night through the charity auction.

Lucien opened the box and showed the shiny little trinket that he bought for ten million dollars. It was a huge sum of money for the current Sebastian, but not for Lucien.

This was nothing but a little pocket money to please his beautiful moonlight.

"You... don’t have to do this for me, Lucien. It’s too much of a gift," Winter said as she tried to reject it. "Besides, we have a meeting to do. Isn’t it better if we just focus on what’s important?"

"Oh, this is important as well. I bought this because I want you to have it. I mean, what’s so difficult about accepting it, Winter? I’m sure it’ll look good on you."

"B-but..." frёeweɓηovel_coɱ

"If you don’t accept it, then I think we shouldn’t continue our meeting," Lucien sighed.

"Fine, if that’s what you want. We will find another—ouch!" Sebastian was surprised when Winter suddenly stomped his feet with her heel. She gave him a warning side-eye and then replied to Lucien.

"If that is the case, then I will take it. Thank you for the kind gesture, Lucien," Winter said as she accepted the necklace.

Lucien grinned as he was satisfied with Winter’s response.

As expected, Sebastian was a prideful young man. He probably wanted to dismiss the meeting immediately when his pride was destroyed by Lucien.

However, Winter was much smarter. She knew better than to mess up an important meeting over something as menial as a necklace.

"Then, may I help you?" Lucien opened his hand as he offered to help Winter wearing the necklace.
