Chapter 112: Chapter 112

"Well, this is my personal contact. Call me if you need any instruction on what we should do next, or if you need money when you’re in a tight spot. I will help, as long as we have the same goal," Camilla said as she handed her business card. "I’m leaving now. Don’t tell our meeting with your Madam, though, I believe you are smart enough to keep this meeting a secret, right?"

Arthur nodded and pocketed the business card. He watched as Camilla turned around and left the basement parking lot.

He waited until she was out of his sight before he took out the business card again and read it.

Camilla Saenz

Businesswoman/Financial Advisor

Arthur flipped the card, and there was a personal phone number for him to tell Madam Winter later.

He scoffed when he read the job that Camilla put on her business card.

"Businesswoman? Financial advisor? You are a very well-known loan shark in the underworld. What on earth are you talking about?" Arthur scoffed. "Time to tell Madam Winter about this."

Meanwhile, Winter was busy with Sebastian in the office. They had so much to sort out that they had to tell Iris to get lunch from the nearby restaurant and have lunch in the office.

Winter finally finished doing her part in late noon, while Sebastian was still swamped with so much paperwork to check. He didn’t want to make a mistake in the contract, as one simple mistake might cost millions of dollars for them.

Winter stared at Sebastian who was so focused. He looked like in pain while reading the stack of documents one by one.

’Should I leave him now?’ Winter asked herself. Now that she was done helping Sebastian, she wanted to do something else to finally catch the mole who had been feeding Camilla all the information regarding the company.

’Should I tell Sebastian about his mother’s mole too? I know he has been taking my side just now, but I’m sure he still has some tenderness for the mother who raised him. I can’t fully trust him yet.’ ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

Winter weighed the pros and cons of telling Sebastian about this internal problem. In the end, she decided not to tell him.

On top of the lack of trust between them, she also didn’t want to distract him with useless problems like this. It wasn’t something worth his attention when he had a big project in front of him.

’I will deal with this myself.’

Winter put the document on the coffee table, grabbed her bag, and stood up.

Sebastian lifted his head immediately.

Though he was focused on his work, he never lost his eyes on Winter. Checking on her periodically, in case she got confused over the project, or she might need something.

"Where are you going, Winter?" Sebastian asked.

"I’m done with my part, so I’m going home now," Winter replied.

"Then, I’m going to drive you home," Sebastian said as he stood up and picked up his car key.

"Why? You still have a lot of things to do in the office," Winter raised her brow. "Don’t worry about me. I’m going home with Arthur."

Sebastian was unwilling.

If he could, he would just fire Arthur and then drive Winter home all by himself. But since Winter rejected him, he could only return to his seat.

"Don’t be so hostile towards him, Sebastian. He might be a bit too much when protecting me, but he has been with me for so long, it’s not fair to suddenly fire him just because you don’t like him," Winter defended Arthur again, knowing fully well what was in Sebastian’s mind right now. "Besides, you don’t need to be jealous of him. He is dedicated to his job, that’s all."

"He wants to bang you," Sebastian said coldly.

Winter chuckled, "Even if he does, as long as he doesn’t touch me inappropriately, then there’s nothing to worry about, right? Besides, I think you should be worried about yourself instead."

"About me?"

"Mhm, I will not let him do anything to me, as long as you won’t do anything to Cindy or other women. Two can play the game, Sebastian Saenz. You cheat, so I cheat."

Winter then left the room without saying goodbye.

Sebastian was speechless by Winter’s sentence. She sounded so certain as if she truly had her heart on him and wouldn’t ever leave him as long as he kept his promise of being loyal.

Sebastian clenched the car key in his hand. He thought it was impossible to fall in love deeper for this woman who had long stolen his heart.

But he was wrong.

Her assertiveness, and absolute loyalty to her husband, or perhaps to the idea of a sacred marriage vow instead, made him fall in love deeper and deeper.

He didn’t care if she loved him or if she was in love with the idea of fulfilling their wedding vow.

Sebastian was just happy that someone in their marriage was actually a sane and loving woman.

"You really know how to make me feel things, Winter Saenz."

Winter walked past Cindy and Iris who were still busy with their job, and Cindy couldn’t help but comment, "Must be good to be a useless wife of a CEO. You can just come and go as you please, sit prettily, and then become rich."

Iris rolled her eyes. She didn’t even bother to correct her, because Cindy was a stubborn woman who wouldn’t believe anything except her own narrative. She believed that Winter hadn’t done anything to deserve so much success, even though Iris had been telling her many times that Winter was the one who kept everything running well.

Had she not interfered with the work in the office, then it’d take a while for Mr. Saenz to start risking it and pick up big projects.

On top of that, even though they didn’t show it often, the CEO had always been clear that he did everything because he wanted to make his wife happy.

Unfortunately, such a narrative wasn’t good enough to justify Cindy’s jealousy and hatred towards her sister.

Winter stopped on her track. She looked over her shoulder and said, "Then maybe you should find your own man rather than vying for mine. By the way, I do not care whether you’re trying to seduce Sebastian or not. You can try, and if he does cheat on me with you, then he’s all yours."

Cindy scoffed, "Be careful of what you wish for, sis. You don’t know what will happen in the future. What if he cheated on you? You will cry knowing that Sebastian is mine!"

Iris facepalmed so hard because she didn’t expect this shameless woman to openly oppose Winter, who was the owner of the company.

Surely, Winter had been so kind to let her continue interning in this office, even though Cindy had been nothing but annoying the whole time.

"If that happens, then he is not worth my time. But I don’t mind, I have someone else waiting for me."

Cindy rolled her eyes, "Come on, we both know that you’re old and infertile. Sebastian married you because you inherited Aiden’s money after his death! So, don’t act like you’re the hot stuff. It really annoys me!"

Winter sighed.

She didn’t plan to have a petty war against his little sister. After all, Winter knew it would only hurt Cindy even more.

However her patience had a limit, and Cindy had been pushing her patience to the edge repeatedly.

Thus, she took a ruby necklace out of her bag and dangled the beautiful ruby necklace as if it was a cheap thing that wasn’t worth much in Winter’s eyes.

"Do you know what this is?" Winter asked, and Cindy didn’t respond. She just stared at the beautiful ruby necklace, waiting for Winter’s answer. "This is a ruby necklace worn by the last Empress of Prussia. It was a family heirloom before it got auctioned yesterday. Lucien LeBlanc won the bet after a hard bidding fight with Sebastian, he bought this necklace for ten million dollars, and gave it to me this morning as a gift."

Cindy’s eyes almost popped out of their sockets. She couldn’t believe it when Winter mentioned the history behind the necklace, the price, and also the man who bought it for that price.

On top of that, Sebastian was also willing to go on a risky bidding battle against Lucien LeBlanc just to get that necklace for Winter!

"Do you think a man like Lucien LeBlanc would give this expensive necklace to a random woman? No, of course not. He’s interested in me and has been trying to sway me by his side so he can marry me. Yet, here I am, putting the necklace back into my bag with all the other random stuff inside."

"Why? Because I appreciate my husband, Sebastian Saenz," Winter said. "I appreciate his hard work and how he tries to bid despite risking all of his money just to make me happy."

"If he ever cheats on me with you—or anyone else in this world. You should know that it doesn’t matter for me, Cindy," Winter said coldly. "I do not lack capable men who are waiting for me."
