Madam Wants To Divorce Her Second Husband-Chapter 39
Chapter 39: Chapter 39
"Um... Mr. Saenz?"
Sebastian snapped out of his daze and frowned at Cindy. "Why are you still here? Go and help Iris at the secretary’s desk."
"O—Okay, Sebastian—I-I mean, Mr. Saenz!" Cindy blushed even more, her ears were turning bright red. "Sorry, I keep calling you Sebastian because my sister told me we should work closely together."
"Did she really say that?" Sebastian asked.
"Yes!" Cindy replied confidently. "That’s why maybe I can call you Sebastian in private instead?"
Sebastian didn’t give an immediate response. He dismissed her to have some time alone and breathe because everything was too distressing for him.
He recalled the expression that Winter made when Cindy entered his office.
She looked hurt, angry, and humiliated.
Winter was really good at containing her anger, but Sebastian could easily crack her guise to know her true feelings.
Honestly, he couldn’t blame her for being angry. Who wouldn’t explode after finding out that their husband and sister had an affair in their past lives?
He knew Cindy would eventually come into his life again, probably through his mother’s connections.
But he never expected that Cindy Hazard was actually Winter’s sister. They looked and acted differently, and neither Cindy nor Winter had mentioned this to him.
Sebastian massaged his temple as a severe headache set in. He wanted to fire Cindy immediately. It was best to get rid of the virus before it spread like wildfire.
’I still have to talk to Winter about this. Hopefully, I can convince her to kick Cindy out.’
But he didn’t know how Winter would react, and he knew damn well that Cindy wouldn’t want to leave.
’I guess this is the punishment I deserve for being such an ass to my wife...’ Sebastian sighed. ’One problem after another, just so I can have her forgiveness...’
**
Cindy left Sebastian’s office and looked around, seeing no trace of Winter.
"If you’re looking for Madam Winter, she already left," Iris mentioned, but her eyes were still glued to the computer screen. "I don’t know what happened, but she didn’t seem happy."
"Ah, that’s... expected," Cindy sighed.
"Expected?" Iris finally turned her head to Cindy, waiting for more explanation.
"Mhm, it’s because Mr. Saenz is charmed by my look. So my sister is jealous of me," Cindy replied.
"Charmed? Are you sure?" Iris knew little about Sebastian and Winter’s relationship except that they were on bad terms.
But even if they didn’t seem to like each other, Iris couldn’t imagine her boss being smitten by another woman. Winter was already very beautiful.
Cindy might be young and cute, but she couldn’t hold a candle to Winter, who had such soft beauty even in her late thirties.
’But I’m not sure either. Men always like them younger, after all,’ Iris thought.
"Yes, I can see that Sebastian likes me," Cindy sighed. "I feel bad for her. But it’s inevitable because I’m the younger and prettier sister. Sometimes you can’t help but attract men like a sweet flower attracts bees around."
Iris’ lips thinned.
She was itching to say something snarky, but knowing Cindy was Winter’s sister, she decided to shut up and do her job.
Cindy approached Iris carefully and asked, "So, um... Sebastian just told me that I should help you at work. Is there something I can do?"
"Sebastian? Why are you calling him by his first name?"
"Because he’s my brother-in-law?" Cindy tilted her head, genuinely confused. "What’s wrong with that?"
"Did he allow you to call him by his first name in the office?" Iris asked. "I’m unsure if you should do that since the office is a formal place."
"He said I should call him by his first name in private," Cindy replied. "Don’t worry, I’ll call him Mr. Saenz when he brings me to meetings and such."
"Will he ever do that? I thought you were just an intern here," Iris commented.
"I can ask my sister to make me a permanent secretary," Cindy said lightly. "You should be happy since your workload will be lighter with me around. I’m pretty competent!"
"Hm, I guess so," Iris shrugged. She didn’t like the aura this woman was giving off. freёweɓnovel_com
Cindy seemed overconfident, and Iris was old enough to tell that Cindy had strong ambitions in her heart.
But she didn’t dare to say anything against her because she was Winter’s sister, and Winter had brought her here as an intern.
’Who am I to question Winter’s decision,’ Iris told herself. ’I just hope she won’t regret it. I have a bad feeling about her sister.’

Winter didn’t go to the finance department floor. She decided to just go down to the lobby and return the access card to the receptionist.
The receptionist was scared, seeing the usually beautiful and soft-spoken Madam look so angry as if she was about to rip someone’s heart out.
"A—Are you alright, Madam?" the receptionist asked. "You don’t look... happy."
"It’s none of your business," Winter replied curtly before she left.
The receptionist gulped. She zipped her lips instantly and waited until Madam Winter left the office.
She then called Madam Camilla to report everything, just as she was instructed.
—
"What new information do you have?" Camilla asked.
"Um, it’s about Madam Winter. She just left."
"With that woman?"
"She left alone. But she looked really angry."
"Huh, that’s strange," Camilla hummed for a moment before asking, "Are you sure they’re not sisters?"
"They don’t look alike, Madam."
"As in, Winter is uglier?"
"No, Madam Winter is much more beautiful than the other woman," the receptionist replied objectively.
"That’s unfortunate," Camilla sighed. "Since that other woman hasn’t left the office yet, find information about her. I want to know who this woman is that Winter brought."
"Yes, Madam."
Beep.
—
The receptionist sighed. "I’m not being paid enough to work as a spy."
She didn’t want to hurt Madam Winter, because the latter seemed to be a very sweet lady, but she had to do it for her father’s safety.
