Chapter 77: Chapter 77

Cindy stood in front of the Goldmine Realty office, staring at the glass door leading to the main lobby in silence. She clenched her tote bag as she was trying to fight the nervousness in her heart right now.

’Ah, why is this more frightening than yesterday?’ Cindy asked herself.

She took Camilla’s advice at heart and realized that she needed to change her strategy if she wanted to steal Sebastian from that ugly and greedy witch, Winter.

Thus, she decided to ditch all of the sexy clothes she bought—well, she didn’t exactly throw them into the trash can, she simply put them on a shelf. She was sure that Sebastian would appreciate it more after they got together.

After all, sexy time required sexy clothes for role-playing, and Cindy was more than ready for it.

Today, she wore a dark green formal blouse with long sleeves. She also wore a long black skirt up to her knee length.

She had her hair in a ponytail and wore glasses.

She didn’t have any problem with her eyes, but she thought it would make her more nerdish and secretary-like, so it would rouse the sense of conquest in Sebastian’s heart. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

Cindy took a deep breath and cheered herself, "You can do this, Cindy. It’s time for you to show that you’re also a capable secretary for him. I’m sure he’ll ditch that bitch, eventually.’

Cindy strutted into the office, and her eyes met with the receptionist, Isabella, who was stunned by her sudden change.

She smiled and greeted her, "Morning, Isabella."

"M-morning..." Isabella replied. She was still stunned by the drastic change Cindy had. From the way she dressed, walked, and even how she spoke. She was so different that Isabella thought she must’ve been hallucinating yesterday.

"I’m going up. I have a lot to do in the CEO’s office," Cindy said. "Oh, if you have time, why don’t we have lunch or have a coffee together, it’s my treat. We’re friends, right?"

Isabella was about to refuse because she didn’t want to be close to an unhinged woman who could change everything about her in just a day. But it would make her look bad if she did so.

Thus, she simply nodded, hoping that she didn’t need to talk with Cindy anymore.

Cindy was satisfied when she saw the positive response from Isabella.

Of course, she had no intention of actually inviting her. Isabella was just a receptionist, she held no important position in this company.

Rather than inviting a mere receptionist, she’d rather invite Sebastian as her soon-to-be husband and also the CEO, or maybe Iris, the old secretary that she wanted to kick, so she could spend all her time alone with Sebastian.

She also wouldn’t mind inviting the head of the HR department who assigned her to work in Sebastian’s office.

But her time was important, and she wouldn’t waste it on a mere receptionist who’d probably get fired soon.

Cindy walked to the VIP elevator. She wasn’t supposed to use it as it was only reserved for the higher-ups, such as the CEO, the head of each department, and also Madam Winter as the owner of the company.

Isabella also had access to it whenever there was an important guest who came to the office.

But Cindy was not any of those higher-ups. She was just an intern, but Isabella was forced to give her the access card out of pressure.

Cindy checked on herself in the mirror while waiting for the elevator to reach the top floor. She disliked what she wore right now because she looked hideous with all of these drab and boring colors.

’This is Winter’s colors. Ugly, boring, and depressing,’ Cindy complained. But apparently, this was what Sebastian—and many other rich men preferred. "I never understand their taste. Why wouldn’t they like something much brighter? Isn’t it important to make an impression?"

Nevertheless, she was willing to play by the rules if that meant she could end up with her handsome prince, Sebastian Saenz.

Cindy’s cheeks reddened as she remembered him again. Sebastian was a Latino, from what Camilla said, they came from Spain, and it was obvious that Sebastian took a lot from his mother, from his eyes, lips, and also skin color.

He had that sexy tan Cindy wanted, but couldn’t have.

’Ugh, to think that he ends up marrying Winter, who’s as pale as a ghost,’ Cindy shivered. She had never said this out loud in front of Winter before, but she was creeped out by how pale Winter could get, she almost looked sickly at times. ’My mother-in-law is right, Winter doesn’t deserve him. She’s not attractive by any means, and Sebastian is forced to marry her because he wants her money. Well, it’s justified if he takes it all from Winter. She doesn’t earn any of it, after all. It’s all Aiden’s money.’

Ding!

Cindy quickly fixed her expression right before the elevator door was opened. She had to be meek, yet still professional. She had to adapt to Sebastian’s preference and pace, so he would see her quality eventually.

Cindy smiled towards Iris who was already busy at her desk, as usual.

"Good morning, Iris. Are you doing well today?"

Iris stopped typing, she glanced at Cindy and frowned when she realized that Cindy was talking to her.

Iris observed her from head to toe and was surprised by how different her attire was today compared to yesterday.

She wore proper formal attire to work in the office. She also had a sweet smile that Iris had never seen coming from her before.

"So, is there something I can do today? I want to learn how to be a secretary from the best!" Cindy asked nicely, expecting Iris to cater to her needs.

But Iris simply returned her gaze to the computer screen and said, "I’m not obligated to help you, and frankly, I don’t feel like it. Especially not after you almost got me fired with your lies."
