Magical Girl with Demonic Time Magic-Chapter 120: Hunt Initiated

"Setsuna, here you go." I serve Setsuna her food, noticing her tired look. She just got back from the bathroom, her hair still damp, and she shifts uncomfortably in her chair as she stares at the meal.

"Thank you..." she says before starting to eat. I sit down to eat as well, but I can’t focus on the food. Even though Setsuna is pretending to be fine, I know something’s wrong.

I’ve never seen her so exhausted before. Besides, I heard strange noises from the bathroom. I wonder if she’s sick or something.

"Setsuna, I don’t really have a spare room... just my parents’ room and mine... Do you want to stay with me? Or stay in my parents’ room... though my parents’ room is a bit dusty." I haven’t been in there for a long time.

I simply ignored that room as if it didn’t exist after they died, so it’s probably dirty from accumulated dust.

"Ah, I..." She pauses before speaking.

"I’ll stay in your parents’ room..." When she says that, I feel a little disappointed. She doesn’t seem well, and I wanted to look after her closely, but I’ll respect her wishes. I can’t force her to sleep in my room. Besides, I’m not sure if I’m ready to share my bed with someone else.

"Setsuna, currently the monsters are acting strange. Since you haven’t been to the Magical Girls’ base yet and haven’t seen Septarion, you probably don’t know, but they’re mostly hiding and fleeing the city. That’s why Magical Girl activities will decrease a bit too."

’Did I do something wrong?’ On Christmas we were so happy, but suddenly she’s like this. It makes me wonder if it’s my fault. Did I do something wrong and ruin our relationship without even realizing it?

I try to think back to Christmas, but I can’t find anything. Our relationship was fine, and I was happy before, so something must have happened before that. But I don’t want to be too intrusive.

"It’s already late, I’m going to sleep..." Setsuna suddenly stands up. I see her plate is almost untouched as she waits.

"Okay... it’s the room down the hall, the one at the end," I tell her where it is while I stop eating too. I feel bothered by all this, so I can’t eat either.

She just heads off as if she wants to be away from me. This makes it seem even more like I’m the cause of this awkwardness between us.

’I think I’ll go to the Magical Girls’ base...’ The house has a strange atmosphere, and Setsuna doesn’t seem to want me around, so I’ll try to help the other Magical Girls for now, and maybe ask Ophelia for advice since she’s really smart.

I get up and start clearing the table, putting the food in the refrigerator to eat later, then I write a note for Setsuna letting her know where I’m going.

I’m not going to talk to her now because I think if I push too much, things will get weird. Since we’re going to be living together, we should overcome this awkwardness naturally with time.

"..." I leave the paper on the table with a spoon as a paperweight so it doesn’t move, and soon I leave the house, hoping things will be better when I get back.

I hear the sound of the door, indicating Ayane is leaving. Meanwhile, I lock the bedroom door and slump to the floor, leaning my back against the door.

’She’s confused... but it’s better for her to stay away from me...’ I don’t want to possibly kill her again. However, I can’t sleep either, so I think about what to do and decide the best thing is to go out and kill monsters.

Mainly to get used to the insane power I’ve gained now. Immediately, a specific monster comes to mind... the [Black Hero]. I remember him humiliating me and trying to kill me.

’Was that... the future?’ I look around the room of Ayane’s parents. I won’t be able to sleep anyway, so I decide to go hunt the Black Hero. Even if it takes some time, it’s better than trying to sleep or being near Ayane.

With my current power, I know I can kill him. In fact, I think almost no monster can beat me now, and I only have a percentage of Number 0’s power.

If one day I can have all the power she had, then I’ll be officially invincible.

I stand up, stretching my body with a strange sound, while looking determinedly at the mirror in the room. I see my reflection.

It isn’t much different from before, aside from the horribly deep dark circles under my eyes. I let out a sigh, realizing how foolish it is to rely on appearance alone for judgment.

"I hope Number 0’s power is at least useful," I say, leaving the room. I’ll test her time powers. Number 0 could do anything with time.

I doubt I currently have the power to do all that, but I should at least have the ability to partially see the future and make local alterations to time. And I’ll use that to kill the Black Hero.

But first, I have to locate him. And I want to do that tonight. So I take a deep breath and begin trying to force myself to see the future, to find the location where he is or will appear.

It shouldn’t be too hard since I don’t want to see the complete future of a living being. I just want to see his future location at a specific moment in time.
