Chapter 835

BOOOM—!

TCHAKKK—!

THUD—!

Selene’s body lay almost motionless. It was said that after death, a person’s brain was still active for a few minutes.

But for the leader of the Aetherborn clan, it only lasted about half a minute and what did she use it to do?

To cast one final glance at Noelle who after bringing the fall of her mother, she collapsed to the ground along with her.

And this time, it looked like she was done.

Her condition was unsure.

Usually, people would feel upset about what had just happened to them. Probably curse inwardly or to swear to come back as a ghost and haunt their killer.

But for Selene, a painful smile appeared on her lips.

’She’s grown... a lot. I’m sorry Noelle; all I ever did or said was make sure you won’t break down under the weight of this world. In a world where males dominate, I clawed my way to the top and wanted the same for you.

Unfortunately, my approach was wrong... to you. I hurt you, I insulted you and you must probably hate me for that. I wish I call tell you; it was all necessary.’

Selene lingered for a few moments as her imperceptible smile grew more profound while staring at Noelle’s eyes which were closing and opening.

’... With what you did today, I’m glad to know that you will be able to take care of yourself. I’m sorry, daughter. Please find it in your heart to forgive everything I said and did.’

Her eyes rolled aside to glance at the empty space as she took one last breath before adding.

’Ah... that was foolish for me to do. Let myself go so she could pull that desperate win. I just hope she lives long.’

And with that, her eyelids fluttered weakly before shutting... forever.

All breath, power, strength and drive the leader of the Aetherborn clan held, all gone.

Meanwhile, Noelle who was barely clinging to consciousness stared at her mum’s body. The frozen smile on her face like someone who had just accomplished their life long goal.

For some reason, seeing the smile; it irrked Noelle massively as anger threatened to claw at her from beneath.

It was like even in death, Selene won which infuriated Noelle the more but unfortunately, she could do nothing.

The woman was dead and Noelle was dying.

’... I just hope you rot in the deepest depths of hell.’ she spat inwardly.

The battle between the few people and Selene was over.

Only Lilly and Ash were conscious.

They wasted no time in dashing their separate ways to administer the necessary healing potions to both Noelle and Leo before it was too late.

Lilly to Leo, Ash to Noelle.

Gently lifting their heads, they poured the crimson liquid from the vial in their possessions down their throats.

From far away, it would look like the duo were dead but luckily, they were still alive even though they were barely breathing.

Just like Brook, these two got the same potion from Grey.

It took the Supreme Magus not just three weeks to make the potions but to study the original.

The same original potion he got after defeating Thalos in a duel which seemingly came from the gargoyle’s previous master.

On two different occasions, it had helped him regenerate his destroyed limbs and even patch sliced limbs together.

Even as he got most of the ingredients, one key ingredient was still missing.

The same ingredient that allowed the fixing of cut off limbs.

He was unable to decode that hence he just gave up and replicated the potion without the regrowing of limbs or the reattachment of it thereof.

So the potion just healed all injuries both internal and external and at the same time, if one’s bones were broken or hanging by the thread, it could fix it.

But for loss of limbs or organs; sadly, the potion couldn’t do that.

Maybe in the future....

Hence, Leo and Noelle will unfortunately be slightly crippled. One eyed and one arm.

Selene made sure of this before she went.

After tearing Leo’s arm off, she had crushed it beneath her grip reducing the whole thing to an almost bloody pulp.

After making sure that their conditions were stable, the duo carried the unconscious survivors of the Aetherborn clan and brought them far away from the lingering clash going on.

After setting them down, Lilly sighed.

"I will go help any others that need help. Stay here and take care of them."

Ash just shrugged while hiding his fingers into the sleeves of his robes.

"Fine by me. After that slam that damn woman used my body for, it seems I have broken a few bones."

He winced in pain with every words he said.

Lilly smiled.

’Luckily, I’m not always on the frontlines. Just stay far back and let loose some arrows.’

With a final glance at the still unconscious duo, she turned away to take not of the two dozen guards that had remained motionless for a few moments.

Only for their eyes to move.

Split around landing on Rowen and Selene’s dead bodies.

They hadn’t even watching their fights before and instead fixed their attention on Grey who was still cultivating and then on Orion who was fighting.

They felt like their leaders were more than capable of taking down a few pests on their own without any help so they didn’t even bother casting them a glance.

Now, their faces bore an expression of profound shock, confusion and anger at the death of their leaders.

The area around them suddenly grew more dense as audible angry gnash of teeth from the men resounded through the coliseum causing Ash, Brook and Lilly to gulp in unison.

Eyes unconsciously darting behind them to check on the unconscious warriors.

Then back at the guards who all finally unsheathed their weapons.

Eyes blazing with fury.

Another gulp.

"This is incredibly bad...."

Lilly nocked an arrow and shifted into a stance.

Brook who stood a few metres away from them tapped at his shield a few times while taking a stance too.

With a cacophony of a roar, the two dozen men darted at them. Their feet thudding against the ground like drums being beat.
