Magus Supremacy-Chapter 845: Wordless Clash (1)
Chapter 845
Grounding his feet to the earth, Grey unleashed fifty flame spears that shot forth with destructive energy, screaming through the air toward Orion.
Knowing that the mage could now fold space at will, Orion didn’t bother attempting to dodge or evade the onslaught.
Instead, he prepared to meet the inferno head-on.
In place of the standard Ki swords he typically manifested, a pair of lethal ki scythes appeared in his grip, connected by shimmering, translucent Ki chains.
With one massive, sweeping spin of the chained blades, the flame spears were instantly cut down.
A violent gust of wind blasted outward from the friction, the tips of the scythes tearing deep, jagged grooves through the stone ground.
"Sky Cutter!" Grey yelled, his voice echoing across the arena.
Hundreds of horizontal Ki slashes burst from the air surrounding him, converging on Orion like a storm of razors.
The veteran warrior didn’t fret; he dropped into a low stance and began strategically clashing with the incoming projectiles.
He moved like a localized blur, colliding with each of the slashes as if they were inconsequential nuisances.
These were the same attacks Grey utilized to clear entire battalions of enemies—the same pressurized blades capable of cleaving through enchanted armor.
Yet, the strikes that had never failed the mage were now shattering against Orion’s scythes like brittle glass.
With a final, thunderous spin, a shockwave of wind erupted, shaking the very foundations of the coliseum.
Then, leaning forward with predatory intent, Orion exploded toward Grey with the speed of light itself.
The Supreme Magus did not relent.
With Clara held in a white-knuckled grip and lightning boots sparking at his feet, he also surged forward to meet his adversary dead in the center.
And at that center, they collided. In a brutal clash of wills, the world itself seemed ready to quake.

Bang—! Bang—! Bang—!
The confrontation had shifted into a frantic close-quarters struggle, with deafening bangs screaming through the atmosphere.
The two combatants had transformed into literal streaks of motion, their forms barely discernible to the naked eye.
Even though Orion’s weapons were forged purely from Ki, they struck with the weight and resonance of forged steel, functioning as lethal physical implements rather than mere extensions of spiritual power.
Orion moved like the apex predator he was.
His movements possessed the grace of a man who had survived more wars than he could accurately count, let alone recall.
His scythes tore through the air before they could even fully formulate, swinging from every conceivable angle and searching for any microscopic opening he could capitalize on.
Yet, each of those whistling swings was unable to bite into the mage, who was meticulously parrying the strikes with the sword named after his mother; Clara!
Every aggressive swing was met with a precise block, followed immediately by a sharp counter-attack from Grey.
He remained incredibly light on his feet, utilizing the blinking skill of his spatial magic to slip past anything that bypassed his guard.
Grey’s gaze never wavered, fixing intently on the warrior’s limbs and watching for any muscle twitch or subtle motion that would betray the next maneuver.
His senses and his deep attunement to the wind element were stretched to the absolute limit, allowing him to perceive threats manifesting even in his blind spots.
Due to their staggering velocities, almost no one could keep up.
Not Leo, Fenrir, Mada, Alba, the Leader of the Watcher’s Clan, or even Beatrix could track the exchange with their eyes alone.
The only spectators capable of perceiving the nuances of the duel were Leader Ken, Elder Ron, and Pluck.
For everyone else, they were merely witnessing a chaotic display of sparks flying across the terrain as the duo danced in a deadly rhythm.
Neither fighter seemed to gain the upper hand... yet.
In a swift, low slide forward while bending his torso to half his height, Orion avoided a lethal swing from Grey.
He followed through by bashing his shoulder into the boy’s chest, the sheer force of the kinetic hit sending the mage sliding backward across the grit.
In one fluid repositioning, Orion sent his Ki scythe whistling toward the mage at a blazing velocity.
Because the weapons were direct extensions of his own energy, he could manipulate their length and trajectory as he deemed fit.
With his eyes widening for a fraction of a second, Grey summoned a lightning sword from the heavens.
The bolt descended with a roar, driving the scythe’s head deep into the ground and shattering the terrain further.
Not letting the near-miss deter him, wind rushed around the mage, boosting him forward like a bat out of hell as he sought to reclaim the offensive.
No words were exchanged between the two.
Everything that was to be said had already been voiced; now, they were prepared to let their sheer prowess do the talking once more.
The second scythe was sent hurling towards Grey’s head, but with a minimal, practiced gesture, a spatial portal yawned open in front of him.
It swallowed the scythe whole before snapping shut with a sharp crack, effectively severing the Ki chains connecting the weapon to its master.
It would take a second for the warrior to manifest a new pair of scythes.
But in a clash of this magnitude, a lot can happen in that single second.
Grey closed the distance between them in the twinkle of an eye, unleashing a downward slash that birthed an invisible Ki wave.
It shot towards Orion, who was forced to leap backward to avoid being cleaved.
Twisting his feet subtly against the grit, Grey commanded ten gigantic earth pillars to erupt from the ground, snaking towards Orion with tremendous, crushing speed.
However, the warrior simply bashed his fists into every single one of them, shattering the stone structures into dust.
To the outside observers, it seemed like the fight was evenly matched, but unfortunately, they couldn’t be farther from the truth.
Orion was clearly faster, more powerful, and significantly more skilled.
Even though he hadn’t dealt Grey any grave physical injuries yet, the invisible toll he was exacting on the mage was immense.
The young man’s mana and Ki pools were dwindling at an astonishing rate due to the way he was continuously spamming high-level skills, while Orion didn’t look like he was going to run out of reserves anytime soon.
The moment he finished dealing with the earth pillars, Orion’s Ki surged, and in a flash, a pair of fresh scythes materialized in his grip.
For a second, the world paused as all eyes darted between Grey—who was already heaving softly, his chest rising and falling in a ragged rhythm—and Orion, who had a small, imperceptible smile curving his lips.
The veteran knew exactly what was happening to the lad.
Utilizing spatial magic takes up a massive chunk of mana, and Grey had been utilizing it relentlessly.
Even his lightning magic drained his core, causing him to lose energy at a dangerous pace.
But the warrior-mage didn’t look like he was ready to back down.
Shifting into a new, aggressive stance, his lightning boots crackled with renewed intensity, glowing subtly against the dark terrain.
Ki flooded the soles of his feet while the wind began to howl around his legs in a concentrated vortex.
BANG—!
Everyone within the coliseum was immediately forced to cover their ears in pain as their eardrums shuddered from the sonic force of Grey’s lunge.
He cut through the air with such unimaginable velocity that the atmosphere itself was forced to clear a path for him.
Like a bolt of divine retribution, he cut through the distance to appear before Orion in a heartbeat.
