Chapter 848

A swing of his greatsword forced Orion to leap away in order to evade it... which he did.

He then proceeded to counter attack with his scythe forcing the gargoyle on the defensive as he parried with his sword flinging the ki weapon aside.

Crossing the distance between the two of them in the twinkle of an eye, Orion and Thalos transitioned into a speed far beyond the human capabilities.

They danced across the terrain in a fury and flurry of stone and ki weapon.

Sparks flew as they danced across the place swinging and kicking one another.

Cracks were beginning to form across Thalos’ stony body which flowed with pinkish liquid but the gargoyle wasn’t about to back down as he pressed forward.

Doubling on his attack and speed to the extent that the warrior was now forced on the defensive; forced to block instead of attack.

Thalos was now coming in hot from different angles. His sword cutting through the air faster than it could coalesce around it.

The sound barrier was getting rattled with each swing and slash of his sword that even the ground wasn’t getting spared at this point as they kept going hard at one another.

It was at that exact moment Orion managed to taunt Grey bringing him back into the fight with vigour.

Sliding to the side allowed for the warrior to avoid the greatsword that collided with the earth burying into it deeply.

Running across the greatsword was Grey who proceeded to leap over it and appear directly before Orion.

The wind howled fiercely as he swung his hands from the side and almost immediately, twin tornadoes that had lightning crackling angrily inside which tore through the ground with every spin appeared.

"Fusion magic: Rajin Spiral!"

Orion made a quick glance to his flanks and quickly proceeded to dash backwards in order to avoid the attacks only for a portal to appear behind him and the tornadoes burst out smashing into his back with tremendous force.

The tornadoes that had the force to tear through enemies and armours managed to shred Orion’s robes to pieces leaving him with something covering his lower body downward.

But his upper body was totally bare.

Though they were unable to totally slice through his body due to his ki coating, they still managed to cause a deep enough scratch that seeped with blood.

But Grey wasn’t done with him.

"Fusion magic!" Grey bellowed as the elements began responding to him.

"Screw you!" Orion thundered as the ground beneath him shattered showing that he was about to lunge forward.

At that exact moment, Thalos and Noir descended from his flanks ready to keep him from interrupting the mage who was charging up another round of attack.

Swinging his sword horizontally towards the warrior, Orion bashed his elbow into the blade stopping it right in the air with the ground splintering further.

A blazing enormous ball of flames from Noir whooshed towards the warrior forcing him to demonstrate another round of deadly speed that made it seem like he teleported.

Because the next second, he was already far away from the duo.

Unfortunately, their job was done.

"... Thunder Lance!" Grey completed his spell.

Fifty spears of condensed lightning and wind burst forward with deadly speed.

Orion was ready to block, dodge or even evade.

Until,

"Folding."

The space between the warrior and the skills diminished allowing for the spears to bombard the man with crazy force.

His Ki coating was weakening as the spears crashed onto his body failing to pierce through only for two to find their mark and plunge into his abdomen with full force drawing a gush of blood while the man was sent smashing into the spectator stands.

....

A moment of silence as the dust settled with all eyes fixed on Grey who was now beginning to pant a bit heavily.

That was right! His gear two was his fusion spells which he learnt from a strange book back at his world.

Usually, he only needed to use just a single skill from this wide collection but unfortunately, his opponent was too huge for him to use a single skill hence he was forced to begin spamming.

Fusion magic; a type of magic that allowed for a mage who was a dual-elementalist and above merge their elements into a devastating attack.

They carried strength and power far above the fact if the elements were separate.

The way it carried immense power, the same way it drew upon tremendous amount of mana from the user.

Only someone like Grey could hope to do something like this without such a deadly repercussion. And that was why Fenrir was staring with wide eyes.

’No way! He knows fusion magic too? Bu-wait a moment. Wasn’t the book that had the collection of fusion magic sealed somewhere else? It was written with a language nobody could read and by one of the first group of mages in existence. So how does Grey know how to use fusion magic?’

"Ah... An anomaly indeed." Orion uttered from where he was blasted into.

He could be seen slowly rising up amidst the rubbles and debris he had been sealed underneath.

The members of the Midnight Sun Clan seated around that place were forced to move away every few minutes due to the close proximity to the battle.

Still, they refused to leave the coliseum choosing to watch instead.

And now, everybody could see Orion up on his full height with two deep gash on his abdomen that caused blood to pour out like a tap.

His expression still remained as unfazed as possible but there was an underlying tone of anger in his posture and words.

"So you have decided to power yourself up huh? Good, good. But unfortunately; you are still weak and wouldn’t be able to defeat me with parlor tricks."

Grey smirked as his partly damaged robes continued flapping wildly in the wind.

"Do you realize that I haven’t even used a mage’s trump card on you yet? Fenrir Stormspear broke through and was able to damage you to some extent before you sent him out of the fight."

The warrior mage paused as he assumed a cool pose.

"... I haven’t broken through and I have dealt you more injuries than you can count yet you call me weak? Haha~ what a nice joke. Tell me more." Grey laughed in immense amusement.

Orion sighed deeply as he shook his head staring at the kid down below.

Jumping down from the spectating stands with his injuries healing at a crazy speed— possibly by the use of Ki, he smirked with his head tilted to the side.

"I haven’t even been taking you serious all along, do you know? I could have chosen to end this fight even before it had truly began, if I wanted. But I chose not to. Do you know why?"

Of course, Grey wasn’t about to reply the question as he stared at the warrior who proceeded to give the reply himself.

"... That’s because I actually want you to suffer.... Suffer and beg for death before I kill you with my bare hands and not with the use of weapons."

"...."

A curve of his lips, Grey lifted one hand to the heavens.

"Good. At least we can both agree on one thing. I also want you to suffer before I murder you."

Grey’s eyes glowed with power as those words left his mouth and immediately, part of the area darkened.

Only for everybody to glance up to see tons of elemental weapons hovering above the ground, all the tips pointed at the warrior below.

Blood dribbled down Grey’s mouth but he didn’t care.

Swinging his hand down, the elemental weapons shot forth at blazing speed.
