Make Me Moan Mr Therapist.-Chapter 106: A surprise.
Meanwhile, Fred stood on the beach, quietly enjoying the rhythm of the ocean waves as they rolled in again and again, the cool water brushing against his feet before retreating back into the sea.
He had wanted to bring Gabe along, wanted them to inspect the vacation house together, room by room, balcony by balcony. But Gabe had been busy. Very busy. Locked away in his room with Alex from morning until Fred finally gave up and left on his own.
Are they fucking each other? Fred thought bitterly, letting out a slow, tired sigh.
Did Gabe finally fuck Alex’s asshole?
He shook his head slightly, jaw tightening.
Well... he’s crazy after all, Fred continued inwardly. He must have finally decided to show off his alpha power. Those two were the exact reason I had to leave the building. How could they be so damn loud?
"Hi, Fred."
Damien’s voice cut through his thoughts, smooth and unexpected.
Fred stiffened slightly before turning around to face him, swallowing hard as his eyes met Damien’s.
Just what does he want now? Fred wondered, forcing a polite smile onto his face.
I thought he left the vacation house to attend to business. That’s what the servants said. So why is he here again?
"Good morning," Damien said easily, raising an eyebrow as a wide, friendly smile curved his lips. "Did you enjoy your first night at the vacation house?"
Fred nodded. "I did. Thank you," he replied warmly. "I heard you left to handle some business. You’re back pretty early."
"Oh yeah," Damien answered immediately. "I actually went to pick Lucas and Romeo up from the airport. I dropped them off at the vacation house not long ago."
Fred nodded in understanding. "I see. Are they your friends... or clients? Yours and Alex’s, I mean. If they came here because of you, why aren’t you with them?"
Damien chuckled softly, rubbing the back of his neck. "We talked all the way from the airport till we got here. We’ll talk later again. For now, they can go disturb Alex with their endless gist. I’m exhausted."
He shook his head with amusement. "Those two are ridiculously talkative. They behave like twins, even though they’re not."
"Oh," Fred said quietly, letting out a heavy sigh as he turned his attention back to the ocean. The waves continued to reach his legs, steady and soothing.
There was a brief pause.
"Uhm..." Damien spoke again, his tone shifting slightly. "I actually want to show you something."
Fred turned back to him, eyebrows lifting with curiosity. "Show me what?"
"You’ll have to follow me," Damien replied. "It’s not too far from here."
Just what is he up to now? Fred wondered, his throat tightening as he swallowed.
"Oh... okay then," he said after a moment.
Damien nodded and began to walk, and Fred followed closely behind.
It’s not like he’s going to hurt me anyway, Fred reassured himself as they moved along the beach, their footsteps sinking into the sand.
They soon reached a quieter side of the shore, where a neatly arranged tent stood facing the ocean.
"Surprise!" Damien announced brightly, pulling the tent flap aside and ushering Fred in.
Fred froze.
Inside, soft pillows were scattered across a large bed laid out beneath the tent. Framed quotes about love and friendship rested against wooden crates. A few musical instruments leaned casually against the side, giving the space a strangely intimate, artistic feel.
There were snacks everywhere, sweet and savory alike. The gentle scent of chocolate lingered in the air as Damien began unpacking a basket.
He laid everything out carefully: frosted cakes, freshly sliced fruits, golden-brown chicken, crispy chips, and several tubs of ice cream neatly stored in a small cooler.
Fred stared, stunned. "You... did all this?" he asked quietly, swallowing hard. "Why?"
Damien smiled warmly and sat down on one of the cushions, patting the space nearby. Fred hesitated before sitting on the chair just outside the tent, close enough to feel included, yet far enough to breathe.
"I did it for you," Damien said simply. "To make our friendship official."
Fred looked at him, surprised by the sincerity in his eyes.
Damien let out a soft breath, his gaze lowering briefly.
Even though I came to apologize, he thought inwardly, I still feel like I owe you more. Maybe because you like omegas... and I hurt them. Which means I hurt you too.
He lifted his eyes again, resolve settling in his expression.
"I just want to apologize properly," Damien continued. "And... try to strengthen our friendship, if you’ll let me."
"Huh?" Fred frowned slightly, disbelief flickering across his face. "You... really want to be friends?" He let out a heavy sigh, his heart still weighed down by everything Damien had prepared for him. "I mean, we’ve only had drinks once or twice together."
"Of course," Damien replied immediately, the smile never leaving his face. "I already considered you a friend from the very first day we sat down, shared a drink, and actually talked like normal people." His expression softened. "And... I’m sorry."
"Huh?" Fred raised an eyebrow, confusion clearly etched across his features. "Sorry for what exactly?"
Damien reached into the basket, pulling out two cans of drinks. He popped one open and handed it to Fred before opening the second for himself.
"I’m sorry for disappointing you," Damien said honestly. Then he lifted his can slightly. "To new friendships."
He gently clinked his can against Fred’s before taking a long gulp.
I only need the drugs from you, Damien, Fred thought inwardly, his chest tightening as he stared at the drink in his hand. So I can be healed and finally leave this city. I’m not interested in forming friendships... but for now, I have no choice.
He let out a light chuckle anyway, masking his true thoughts, and took a gulp of his drink. Reaching forward, he grabbed a chicken pie and began eating, more out of nervous habit than hunger.
"So," Damien said casually, his voice warm and inviting, "tell me about you. Since we’re friends now."
Fred paused, chewing slowly before swallowing. "I’m just... me," he replied with a sigh. "There’s honestly nothing interesting to know about me. I’m a boring guy." He looked away briefly. "If not for my friendship with Alex, I’d probably be even more boring than this."
His voice dropped a little. "But I’m really glad I met Gabe. Truly. If not... maybe I would’ve died."
Damien stiffened. "Huh?" He raised an eyebrow, confusion and concern flashing across his face. "What do you mean by that? Can you tell me more?"
Fred hesitated.
Then he took a shaky breath.
"Gabe saved me," he said quietly. "Seven years ago." His voice trembled as memories flooded back. "I wanted to take my own life after losing my parents... and their siblings... all in one day."
Tears welled up and began rolling down his cheeks.
"There was a terrible accident," Fred continued, his voice breaking. "I lost everyone I loved at once. And I kept asking myself....what’s the point of still being alive if the people who made life meaningful are gone?"
Damien didn’t interrupt. He simply listened.
And I was a useless omega too, Fred thought inwardly as tears continued to fall. Forced to live most of my life indoors because my scent was always leaking. I had no control over it. My scent gland was damaged from birth.
I lived my entire life hiding, his thoughts continued bitterly. Using suppressants every single day... until even suppressants stopped working.
Fred wiped his face weakly, though the tears didn’t stop.
"The people who always encouraged me to keep living were gone," he said aloud. "So I gave up."
He swallowed hard.
I decided to end it that day but Gabe saved me. He gave me drugs he made, something that completely concealed my omega scent. It allowed me to live like an Alpha. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Fred laughed softly, though it sounded hollow. "I even started using my elder brother’s name... since he was an Alpha when he was alive."
Silence settled between them, heavy and thick like the humid air around the tent.
"It’s okay, Fred," Damien said gently, moving closer. He reached out and carefully wiped the tears from Fred’s face with his thumb. "I had no idea you went through so much."
His voice was sincere, low. "I’m deeply sorry for your loss. And... I’m grateful that Gabe appeared when he did. He saved you when you needed it the most."
Before Fred could react, Damien pulled him into an embrace.
Fred froze.
His eyes widened in shock as Damien’s arms wrapped around him firmly yet gently, warmth seeping through him as waves of unfamiliar emotion rushed down his spine.
"You should consider me a good friend from now on," Damien said softly, patting Fred’s back in a slow, reassuring rhythm. "Just like Gabe."
His voice hardened slightly with conviction. "I’ll protect you too. I promise."
Fred didn’t know when it happened but slowly, almost unconsciously, he leaned into the hug.
