"Okay, that’s that," Nephron stood up from his chair and smiled. "Good luck and

Godspeed," he added before turning around to walk off with the Elder Black Wing in tow.

Seeing this, the disciples followed suit, maintaining a respectful distance. They had no idea what had just happened but could feel the gazes of the old men on them a few times during the conversations.

They couldn’t wrap their heads around what was going on yet, but it would surely not cause them harm directly. After all, this wasn’t Nephron’s first rodeo.

Soon after, the Supreme Leader and Elder Black Wing got into the carriage and began moving once again towards the Golden Tower.

"They are up to something," in an alleyway a few blocks away, a young lady stuck her head out to comment. The moment the Blood Serpent Clan’s caravan split from the rest... she immediately followed from behind.

The humiliation from before was annoying, but firmly based on the fact that she had no real evidence that they were harboring a sorcerer. But she only needed to find that evidence, then, even if the Golden Griffin Clan did nothing, she could contact her superiors to deal with them.

So, for now, she’ll have to follow them in hopes of catching them in their collusion with the devil.

"Grey Haired Monkey Clan."

"Severed Wing Clan."

"Fireback Turtle Clan."

"Titanium Giant Clan."

At the front gate of the Golden Tower, a man in ceremonial wear stood, introducing the various clans as they made their way through the gates.

For a clan to attend this event, they had to at least have a clan member of quasi-level 5 strength, and that was just the minimum requirement. And with that, more than 15 clans scaled the mountain to get here.

Half the strength of the entire Sacred Lands was laid bare on Griffin’s Peak today. A glorious day.

"Tell Lord First we congratulate you," a giant man in warrior attire rode forth and placed a purple gem in the hands of the man in ceremonial wear. A gift for the clan, a form of congratulations for their joyous celebration.

It was common courtesy in this world to bring gifts on a congratulatory visit like this. One could only imagine the kind of gifts that a level 5 existence would be satisfied with, though. Most of the clans had to break their banks to be here.

But it would all be worth it. Not only would they be able to gauge the strength of the new power in the Sacred Lands, but they would also be able to curry favor with him.

"Will do, Lord Titian."

And so, the myriad of clans made their way into the Golden Tower’s premises and then further up the stairs, where they took their seats in anticipation.

"Wow, just wow, your Golden Griffin Clan has outdone itself this time, no?" An old lady with a hunched back praised as she walked through the hall prepared for the celebration.

The hall had the best of the best pearls used as conduits for lighting the walls and beautiful stripes of cloth decorating the walls and tables. It didn’t stop there, the smell of high-grade wine, the likes of which they had never experienced, permeated the air.

Then there was the food. Even from here, she could smell the flesh of wild beasts being boiled and grilled. Even though they were in the Sacred Lands, wild meat was extremely scarce.

One would think that with a massive forest like Trafalgar Forest bordering them, they would have an abundance; this was not the case, unfortunately. Large-scale hunting in Trafalgar was actually taboo, unless certain criteria were met.

Just the thought of that succulent wild meat melting on her tongue made her hungry. The Golden Griffin Clan knew exactly how to entertain guests.

"You tease me," the elder beside her smiled widely. It seemed like each leader of the myriad clans had an elder assigned to accompany them as a show of respect.

Meanwhile, the disciples of the myriad clans sat together in their own groups at the back of the hall, eyeballing each other. This was not the first time an event like this had been held, and without fail, there had always been clashes one way or the other.

"Hmm, let’s begin," a member of the Unique Claw Clan stood up and walked over to the table of the Dan Tiger Clan. With a cold smirk on his face, he reached forward and grabbed a kitchen knife placed conveniently in front of him.

The head disciple of the Dan Tigers frowned his brows. As the first to start, he had the prerogative to choose whatever the match would be based on.

If he wanted, he could kill one of them and say that was what the match would be based on—who could kill the most. Of course, this was absurd and would probably not happen. However, there was always a possibility.

—feeee—

In the blink of an eye, a white streak of light flashed through the air as the kitchen knife flew towards the head disciple of the Dan Tiger Clan but was stopped quite easily.

"So that’s how it’ll be," the disciple smiled before turning to the side and abruptly throwing the kitchen knife to another.

Knife throwing.

It seemed quite simple, in fact. It was a game even ordinary people would engage in. But, of course, the people here were the exception of the exception.

When they did what was considered safe, it would automatically become unsafe. From one seat to another, the knife was sent flying. No warning, nothing. And it kept going faster.

Even faster, to the point that the knife soon became a blur one could only see once in a few seconds.

This ’game’ was a test of the ranks. They all knew the likes of Kia Loxin would be able to keep up, but what about the other disciples? What about the weak ones? This was the true challenge.

"Hmmm," one of the elders looked back slowly through the corner of his eyes, caught a glimpse of what was happening behind, and couldn’t help but sigh.

Those were the days.
