Malevolent Warlock: Sin Of Eternity-Chapter 278: Clearing Out The Riverbanks
"Ahhhhh!!"
As the wind blew down the Undergod River, the sounds of heart-boiling screams born from sweat and iron resounded on the banks of the river.
Fire, blood, heat, and the world’s most dreadful feeling.
**Death.**
"Who… what the hell is going on?" A brutish, bare-chested man with a long sword exited a tent with worry on his face. A minute ago, they were relaxing and having the time of their lives with beautiful women and bounty…
All of a sudden, things changed. A sword came cleaving down through his tent in an attempt to take his life, and although he managed to escape, the two beauties by his side couldn’t say the same. They had died pitifully.
"Boss, we need to get out of here," a young man rushed forward and grabbed the brutish man by the arm, pulling him.
"Wait a minute, kid. Who’s attacking us?" Noticing the young man, the brutish man asked, completely negating his efforts. He was a peak-level 3 existence, one of the strongest gang leaders in the region. There were few who would dare go against them, so he couldn’t help but wonder.
Which of his rivals had grown the balls to attack him in the middle of the night?
"I… don’t know. They all have masks on. Now let’s go!" The young man, visibly afraid, spoke while still trying to budge the brutish man with him. Vinclad Tempest was his benefactor. He had saved him from a life of begging on the streets and made him a real man. He didn’t want to see the man die in a shameful ambush like this.
"It’s too late, kid. I definitely can’t leave." The brutish man, Vinclad Tempest, looked toward a hill not too far away and smirked.
The enemy generals had already set their eyes on him for a while now, their gazes filled with killing intent.
"Kid, you should go. You still have a future." The brutish man went down on one knee to speak to the young lad. He was cornered, and there was no escaping without a fight for him. But the kid? He could definitely...
—*chu*
Before he could finish his line of thought, an arrow appeared out of nowhere and directly pierced the kid through his forehead, causing his body to fall into the brutish man’s arms, lifeless.
"Ahhh…" The brutish man shook his head slightly as he saw this. There was no hate in his eyes though—the kid just wasn’t lucky enough to escape this fight. Death played no favorites.
That didn’t mean he didn’t want revenge though. The brutish man calmly turned to the hill where Leon and the rest stood and prepared himself.
Even if he was going to be overwhelmed eventually, he had to at least take one head with him before escaping.
"Go!" Leon spoke softly, but what followed was a massive gust of wind as a gigantic figure dashed from his side and—
—*boom*
In an instant, it clashed with the brutish man below.
"What the f*ck?!!" In the first instance, he felt his bones crack slightly from the impact. He didn’t expect this amount of power from a subordinate of his assailants.
A peak-level 3 subordinate?
At that moment, he understood that his attackers were not rival gangs of his caliber. This was something else. Of course, it was already too late to think of something else...
—*boom*
—*boom*
—*boom*
The next few seconds were followed by unyielding and unfeeling attacks to his center as the massive figure in front of him sent a barrage of blows toward him.
"Shit, shit, shit... Blade Wind Area: Slashing Gust!" After taking the full brunt of the attack, the brutish man activated his area and used its thrust to fly back, creating space between himself and Leon’s Kaga puppet.
The moment a mage’s most powerful weapon—his area—became a way to separate himself from an assailant, he knew this was an unwinnable battle.
So the first thing that came to mind was—
**Run.**
He turned tail and sped off in a random direction. Getting away from these guys had suddenly become his number one priority.
—*Woom*
Unfortunately, just like the others before him, a last-ditch effort was just that—an effort. A futile one at that. A vine grew from the earth and grabbed his leg, throwing him into a tree.
—*Woom*
Then the tree consumed him and hardened around his body. Leon had never stopped trying to unlock the Kaga puppet’s true potential. It was born from a forbidden practice from hundreds of years ago. Its dominion over plant life and special anatomy made it a nightmare for beings below level 4.
In the blink of an eye, the Kaga puppet was able to fully subdue the brutish man after pummeling him for a few more minutes, then brought him before Leon and knelt him down.
"You have two options. One is to surrender and force your men to do the same, and the other is death, for you and those who follow you." Leon’s voice resounded as his white hair with blood-red highlights fluttered through the wind. His eyes were cold with a blue glow of excellence.
But the more one looked into those eyes, the more they felt the unfeeling nature of the person before them. These were the eyes of a cruel man who was willing to go the extra mile to destroy all who opposed him.
"Puuu…" Nonetheless, Vinclad Tempest was no coward. He would not bow his head, so with utter defiance, he spat on the ground, showing his unwillingness.
He would not allow himself to become a slave.
"Take his hands." Seeing this, Leon smiled. And in the next second—
—*slash*
—*slash*
Two wisps of smoke materialized on opposite sides of the brutish man and stabbed his hands while moving at high speeds. The momentum ripped his hands from both sides, leaving him armless.
"Ahhhh!!!!!" A gut-wrenching scream erupted into the sky and shook the entire battlefield. There was chaos all over with people dropping like flies, but this painful scream was enough to cause everyone to stop momentarily to track the source.
"That’s the boss!"
"Oh no!!"
"He’s been captured!"
"What are we going to do?!"
The gang members below the hill immediately panicked upon seeing the sight above. Their leader had been captured.
"We are two thousand five hundred strong. I promise you, this won’t go well for you," Leon completely ignored them and said to the brutish man in front of him.
Killing them all was not something of concern for Leon; he just had better use for them at the moment. If their leader wanted to be stubborn, then their corpses were just as valuable to Leon as their live bodies.
"Arg..." Vinclad looked down at his men and then at his arms with gritted teeth. His pride wasn’t worth so many lives. He couldn’t let them all die.

"I yield," Vinclad bowed his head in submission, bringing the battle to an abrupt close.
"Take him away," Leon nodded to his Kaga puppet, and there and then, Vinclad was picked up and flown away to an undisclosed location. However, his words had quenched the flame of battle in the hearts of his men.
They were now prisoners of war.
—neigh!!!
Leon’s horse neighed as he turned to the gang leaders to see a look of terror on their faces. They were the worst of the worst… but this? The kid had ruthlessly killed more than 7,000 people since they joined him two days ago.
That was around five mid-grade gangs, the likes of the Black River Gang headed by Ben, and two high-grade ones.
Was he going to keep up this pace? He said he was taking prisoners, but the number of people left each time they fought was so little that they couldn’t really consider them prisoners.
"Who’s our next target?" Leon asked, not minding the look on their faces. The excess death was necessary for his plans.
"Uhhh... Diamond Gang, a mid-grade gang around 700 men strong. But they are on the opposite side of the river," Ben scratched his head coyly as he spoke to Leon.
There was not a lot he hadn’t seen, the guys around him had too, but they were just shocked by Leon’s efficiency when it came to this. They would get used to it sooner or later.
"Okay, they’ll be the ones to handle it then." Leon looked across the Undergod River to his left and smirked.
There, several hundred figures stood ready in preparation for a raid as the sun was rising. Amongst them were Leon’s allies.
Arian, Ken, Liana, and
Kang.
