Malevolent Warlock: Sin Of Eternity-Chapter 282: Contact
After the tribute to the Undergod Monastery, Leon and several others were admitted onto the monastery’s ship, from which they were ferried through the waterfall and taken directly to the monastery above.
This in itself was massive news to all who witnessed it. The Undergod Monastery had admitted warlocks who waved the banners of the Bloodclans of the Sacred Lands. It was a clear indication of an alliance between both forces.
This was big.
News soon began to spread far and wide into every nook and cranny of the Undergod territory, particularly to the mage powers who had submitted to Celestial Palace rule. This information concerned them more than anything.
The monks of the Undergod Monastery were very prideful. For them to seek an alliance with the Sacred Land... they had probably noticed a massive threat.
And what bigger threat could there be to the Undergod Monastery than the Celestial Palace’s ambitions?
They had to act fast and demand an explanation from the old monks. Most of the mage forces steeled themselves as they prepared to engage in a massive PR campaign against the Undergod Monastery.
But before they could do anything, another warlock force arrived at the monastery, this time with the heads of the mountain bandits who had terrorized the eastern part of the territory for years.
They were bringing the worst criminals to justice. First, it was the gangs of the Undergod River; now, it was the numerous mountain bandits. They were planning to smear the name of the monastery by associating them with the deplorable Sacred Land.
Unfortunately, there was no loophole to do so without making the masses turn against them. They really had to play their cards right.
"You’re really getting good at this," said Ember. Her purple eyes shone with a spectacular splendor as she watched Leon move a chess piece on the table in front of him.
This was Sky Chess.
It looked very much like the chess of his old world, but it was very different. For example, it had up to 80 pieces on the board—40 for each player—and then there were the number of squares.
If only the chess masters of his old world could see this, they would probably spend years in seclusion, playing to their hearts’ desire.
"Shhh," the monk in front of Leon shushed Ember as he carefully examined the pieces before him. One wrong move could cause the room to collapse in on itself.
He had never met such a genius and utterly reckless player before. This kid was just too hard to beat.

"Hehehe," Leon laughed bitterly. He was actually quite new to this Sky Chess, but the speed at which he understood the basics made the old monks of the monastery label him a liar.
He got too good too quickly. They immediately concluded that he was hiding his true prowess, so most of them stopped playing with him.
"Hm?" As Leon watched the monk’s next move with a mocking smile on his face, a shadow slowly loomed over him, causing him to look back with surprise.
Kang.
"He’s out. We can go now," said Kang, not caring for mage games. He sneered at the Sky Chess board in front of Leon.
"Oh? Okay." Leon stood up and followed Kang, abandoning the game of Sky Chess. However, the monk didn’t seem to notice, still completely immersed in his next move.
The Undergod Monastery boasted about its inclusiveness, allowing all races to thrive within its territory. However, this rule ended in the Undergod territory.
In the monastery, 98% of the population were mage humans, and the minority of warlocks were actually servants and the like...
"He’s in there," Kang said as they walked side by side on a stone path leading down the mixture of rocky and grassy terrain of the monastery.
During the past few days, the monastery had brought in several representatives of the warlock clans. It was a clear sign of their alliance.
In fact, even on this pathway, Leon could see members of the Severed Wing Clan and others. They were not out of place. Soon, Leon and Kang arrived at a standalone stone house far away from the main path, inconspicuously situated on a patch of grassland.
"This is the place?" Leon squinted as they arrived at the stone house. There wasn’t a shortage of stone houses like this all over the monastery. They were everywhere.
And that was the problem.
Nephron’s connection to the monastery couldn’t be this ordinary, could it? Leon didn’t understand.
"Don’t try to understand the minds of these old men. It’ll just make you mad," Kang said calmly to Leon as he used his arm to push the stone door open.
—Creeeeee
It didn’t look like it, but it took all of his strength to push the door aside. This alone stood as a testament to the difficulty of opening this common-looking stone door. After all, Kang was a quasi-transcendent being.
After opening the door wide, Leon and Kang made their way into the dark room and took their seats on the floor.
There was no one there but them, but according to Kang, this was how it was supposed to be. Not that he had any experience with this individual, but Nephron’s instructions were quite clear.
So they waited. Seconds went by, then minutes, and soon they had been sitting there for close to two hours with no sign of a person.
"What is this...?" Leon sighed, clearly annoyed by the situation. Why was this individual trying to be so mysterious? Did they look like they cared?
In the next moment, the entire room was suddenly filled with a feeling of dread and disgust.
Leon’s face immediately contorted as his Lumsight eyes beamed with blue light. In a particular corner of the room, a strange pair of eyeballs could be seen sticking out of the ground, looking directly at him.
"That’s..." Leon was briefly confused as, before his eyes, a creature with dangling eyes attached to tentacles rose from a hole in the ground and slithered towards them.
"Nephron’s boys, huh?" the mysterious creature asked as it looked at Leon and Kang with its eyeballs.
"Yes," Kang replied calmly, though his heart skipped a beat. This thing in front of him was a quasi-transcendent being, one far stronger than he was.
Naturally, there were differences between quasi-level 5 existences, and sometimes, these differences could be as vast as heaven and earth. Hence, Nephron’s ability to go toe-to-toe with the Sky Sovereigns of the Golden Griffin Clan.
"Good!" The tentacled creature slithered into a sitting position and praised, "The old man has found himself some pretty good pa... students this time. Good for him."
"Hmmm," Leon and Kang looked at the creature with a mix of disdain and intrigue. Apart from Trafalgar Forest, there was a large deficit of wild and untamed creatures in the three territories.
Especially ones with the ability to think. Kang was even convinced they didn’t exist, if not for Bran’s insistence.
"Okay, wait, don’t tell me—he’s the Drake?" Not caring for their intrigued looks, the creature pointed at Leon and smiled with its slit mouth.
