Malevolent Warlock: Sin Of Eternity-Chapter 290: Seige On The Capital
"Their quasi-transcendent being is about to make a move; stop him," the commander atop the wall shouted as he witnessed a triangular formation comprising of five individuals form in the sky.
"I know," beside him, a man in sky-blue robes sneered, then, like a piece of paper, floated upwards and stretched his hands wide. As he did so, several others in similar attire joined him, and from out of nowhere, a dome-like formation began to form slowly, spreading to cover the entire city top.
This was one of the many specialties of Sky Palace.
Formations.
In the whole three regions, no one could beat the mages of Sky Palace in the creation of magical formations—protection barriers, enhancement formations, healing formations. They were the kings.
"Hold on tight!" Kang, flying at the very tip of their triangular formation, said loudly as he saw the formation start to cover the city skies.
—BOOM—
In the next moment, the air resounded with a deafening boom, followed by several preceding bursts as a barely visible silhouette blasted through the air.
Kang had spent a long time as a peak-level 4 existence, but his talent had always placed him above every being on his level. That meant that even as a quasi-level 5 being, he was a force to be reckoned with.
"Divine Smash!"
With his fist filled with divine might and the momentum gathered from his charge, Kang punched forward, smashing directly into the barrier formation.
—DOOM—
The impact was massive, causing debris to fall from atop the walls onto the heads of the soldiers below.
"Fuck, stop him!" the quasi-level 5 existence who created the formation cursed as he felt the barrier crack. Kang had released an insane amount of energy right now.
"On it!" Noticing this, the others in Sky Palace attire shot out with a myriad of weapons, sneak-attacking Kang from all sides.
"Hmph!" Kang’s natural response was to defend himself; for the first time, he was going to show his battle prowess.
—WOOSH—
Like a swift breeze, Kang moved slightly, dodging the first attack, and with a slide of his hand, he took the dagger away from his assailant and stabbed him in the back.
"Die!!" At this point, the attackers reached Kang, bearing a variety of weapons, which they struck directly at him. They were all peak-level 4 existences from Sky Palace.
In their own right, each of them was a high-standing individual within the palace, yet here they were, ganging up on this individual, Kang.
"Retards," Kang sneered and went at the assailants with his bare hands, and in the next few seconds, an exchange of fists erupted.
Kang showed his battle awareness and skill in this moment as he easily and effectively went head-to-head with several peak-level 4 great warlocks with his bare hands.
"Good, keep him there while I power up the formation." As Kang was distracted, though, the quasi-transcendent being from Sky Palace’s side tried to form a killing spell.
One that could harm a being such as Kang.

However, midway, he felt a shadow loom over him from above, causing him to abruptly look up as his eyes widened.
He couldn’t believe it.
These f*ckers had used Kang as bait.
—WANG—
—WANG—
—WANG—
Like a crescendo of sound, three monastery monks struck the formation above them in quick succession, wearing it down massively with each strike.
Finally,
a draconic figure appeared from out of nowhere.
—Malevolent Drake—
In an instant, the formation barrier scattered like glass, allowing the figure to fly straight into the city with his beast actualization.
"Impressive," Leon commented while looking sideways at Kang.
In the brief moment of breaking through the formation, Kang had claimed the lives of three peak-level 4 great mages, and now he was about to launch a sneak attack at the quasi-transcendent being.
Not only was he effective, but he was also ruthless. This was a commendable combination that mirrored Leon’s mindset. It was no wonder he caught the eyes of Altor and Nephron.
He truly deserved the title "Divine Kang."
"Anyway," Leon turned away as the expression on his face became focused. He had breached the formation, and with a mere glance, he had located the gate.
"Temporal Gates." With a swing of his hand, Leon was able to create two massive gates on two sides of the wall, allowing for the troops outside to immediately pour in.
"Check the flank!"
"Check the flank!"
The army inside the wall, meant as a final line of defense, heard shouts from atop the wall, alerting them of something.
"What the?"
The main commander looked to the side to see an army rushing through the wall. What the hell was going on?
"Hehe, checkmate." Leon smirked evilly as he prepared to create another gate for his men to rush in and begin pillaging too.
However, at that moment, he felt an unsettling stare pierce through him from deep inside the city.
"That…" Seated atop his flying actualization, Leon froze in fear.
There was a muscular lady with spiky hair and a tightly fitted top and bottom, staring him down with murderous intent.
This was not just any random lady, of course…this aura belonged to a true transcendent being.
"Calm your nerves, kid, just fly on over."
When Leon was about to turn away and fly off as fast as he could, he heard a calming voice resound right behind him, forcing him to turn back abruptly.
"Lightning Monk…" Leon muttered.
The brutish monk could be visibly seen standing right behind Leon, facing the lady on the castle balcony deep in the city.
"Sure." He really didn’t have much of a choice, so he steered his actualization towards the castle and drove right towards it.
…
"We’ve taken the walls." Kang descended from the sky and stood next to Leon.
Leon’s gate had allowed them to overrun the city quite easily, forcing the resisting forces into a dangerous situation.
Although fights were still ongoing, the truly powerful individuals from the mage side had fled their posts, so this battle was as good as theirs.
That is…after this part was finished.
"What do you think they are talking about?" Leon, who was looking at a platform in front of the castle, asked with curiosity.
There was a transcendent being up there talking to the Lightning Monk; Leon couldn’t help but wonder what these powerful individuals were discussing.
"You should withdraw your troops with immediate effect and apologize for this treachery. This is not the way of God’s Temple." The lady with spiked hair looked visibly annoyed.
The city had fallen so easily, it was extremely painful, as she had taken a lot of time to make everything work properly here.
"Who are you to tell me what the way of God’s Temple is?" The Lightning Monk responded with a sneer.
Sky Palace was so arrogant; they believed themselves to be above wrongdoing. If they were allies, as they so claimed, why were they trying to take Undergod Monastery territory?
Was that how allies worked?
"You dare question Sky Palace?!! We will eradicate your lineage!" The muscular lady threw her hand to the side, expressing her anger.
When did the Undergod Monastery grow such balls to speak to them like this? So what if they were expanding their influence? Was it not their right?
"You’ll eradicate my lineage? Wait a minute, you old hag, do you know who I am?" This time, unfortunately, she had struck a nerve with this monk right here.
She spoke so casually of eradicating his lineage? Was there anyone in the three regions who could go toe to toe with his ancestors?
"I know who you are, little man. The Temple of God is but a shell of its past glory. I do not need to fear you." The lady maintained her stance. She didn’t, and would never, fear this guy before her.
He was but a young talent who hadn’t even spent 30 years in the transcendent stage. She could wipe the floor with him.
