Malevolent Warlock: Sin Of Eternity-Chapter 307: Sky festival-3
"Ahhhh!!!" A gut-wrenching scream filled with pain and agony resounded in the middle of the arena, causing everyone to pause in their fights and quickly locate the source.
A moment later, their eyes fell upon Wind Chaser Valrian, who was kneeling on the floor with his eyes widened as he looked at where his hands were supposed to be, tears streaming down his face.
"Ouch." The other participants felt a chill run down their spines before the feeling in their hearts turned to pity. He wasn’t from one of those many warlock clans—regenerating arms was not a simple task.
The so-called fastest man in the coast of Sky City had been crippled.
Now the question was: who in their right mind had crippled such a terrifyingly talented individual? The eyes of the crowd drifted around the arena until they fell upon a young lady with white hair and a beautiful blue sword at her side, unsheathed.
"Blood," one of the participants frowned. The arena rules allowed for an all-out battle, but this was only the first stage of the entire competition. It was a general rule that life-changing injuries were uncalled for.
Crippling someone for a preliminary round was just too much, even for the most ruthless fighters.
"I…I…am going to kill you!!" Valrian, after a few seconds of boiling, finally erupted in blinding rage. He had lost his arms to nobodies. If this was to be the end of his career as a fighter, then he would make sure to take them with him, no matter what.
His eyes slowly turned blue, and the hair on his head flared up like it had been set ablaze. Then, miraculously, a pair of arms made from pure mana energy extended from his limbs, reforming his arms temporarily.
"Elemental Embodiment: Split Wind!!" Valrian roared, and in the next second—
—woosh—
He disappeared from where he was standing and broke into a mad sprint around the stage, trying to find a blind spot.
He was nearly undetectable at this point, even to the eyes of a Great Mage. His speed was not to be joked with at all; he had just been caught off guard by Arian previously.
Not this time, though. Even though using Elemental Embodiment officially meant he forfeited the match, that was okay, as long as he killed one of these two ladies…

And he was going to start with the little weak one.
—Zoom—
He appeared next to Ember and thrust his palm in the direction of her lower abdomen, aiming to rip her in two with a single strike.
"Hmmm, she’s not making a move…" Valrian thought to himself. Even with his exceptional speed, he still kept his eyes glued to Arian to gauge her movements.
After all, she was still his main target. Once he killed Ember, he would go straight for Arian.
However, he would not get the chance.
"Burn, scum."
He felt a hand on the back of his head as, all of a sudden, Ember twisted in the air and sent his body crashing to the ground directly.
—Boom!!—
The next second, a cyan-colored flame blasted from her hand, engulfing Valrian’s head in an instant, causing him to scream uncontrollably while trying to get out of her grip.
Ember was a seasoned assassin at the stage of a Level 4 Great Mage. Valrian’s notion that he was faster than her was extremely uninformed. She couldn’t be considered a runner, but her speed was exceptionally fast when it came to maneuvers in disabling a target.
"Plea…please let me…go!!!" Valrian screamed at the top of his lungs as his head was burned into a charred mess.
He couldn’t even struggle, it happened too fast, before he knew it he was on the ground and the next thing he was being bathed repeatedly with flames.
It was a jarring sight that caused not only the audience but also the participants to feel uncomfortablely terrified.
Killing was frowned upon at this stage of the contest, but it wasn’t banned. So, upon seeing that these fighters were willing to kill, the others all stepped back one after the other, purposefully avoiding them.
No one wanted to die at this stage of the competition.
"They’re getting down; let’s go talk to them."
About thirty minutes later, the match ended, and Arian and Ember qualified without any contest, as most of the participants stayed far away from them all throughout.
"Sure, let’s see if we can get laid tonight," an athletic young man with a strong build nodded and walked down the bleachers in an orderly fashion.
They were going over to ’scout’ some talents.
But as they walked down the stairs with a look of pride and superiority, they noticed from the corner of their eyes that Arian and Ember were walking in the opposite direction and had arrived before a young man with paint all over his face.
"Hm? The fan?" The young man with the athletic build raised his eyebrow. They were going over to the loser fanboy? Didn’t they see that he was coming over to see them?
This was annoying; he’d need to teach this little fanboy a lesson. So, with his friend beside him, he walked directly toward where Arian and Ember stood alongside Leon and the monks in disguise.
"Ladies, how are you doing?" The athletic young man with broad shoulders appeared behind Leon, towering over him by a few centimeters.
He placed his hand on Leon’s shoulder and smiled at Arian with a broad and bold smile.
"You are…?" Arian frowned deeply, seeing the very disrespectful scene unfolding before her very eyes. Leon had taken people’s heads off for much less. No one else knew this but her and Ember. This usually calm guy here was extremely vindictive.
"We are members of the Palace in the Sky," the young man beside the guy with his hand on Leon’s shoulder said with a sly smile as he looked lecherously at Ember.
He could only imagine the thoughts going through their heads right now. They had been recognized by Sky Palace members. This was a good sign that their chances of getting chosen were high.
They were probably thinking about how to seize this opportunity to get on their good sides.
"Well, that’s stating the obvious."
But instead of the reaction they were expecting, a snide comment filled with disdain rang from Ember’s mouth as she looked disgustedly at the young leech before her.
She wanted nothing more than to rip his eyes out.
