"Who... or what are you?" Those were the only words that came out of his mouth, as he stared at the strange smoke floating in front of him.

"A little time Elementalist..." The smoke said, completely ignoring his question. "Not what I was expecting to see."

Leon’s eyes trembled in shock at its words, and he subconsciously took a step away from the smoke, feeling another chill run down his spine.

’It knows I’m a time Elementalist?!’ He thought, gnashing his teeth in frustration.

His thoughts started flying all over the place, his mind his disarray and confusion.

Since his element was one that hadn’t been discovered by the world, he never expected someone to guess his element at first glance.

Everything about this meeting was very strange to him, as he still didn’t understand how the smoke was somehow able to move in the first place.

With time freeze still active, nothing within the domain should be able to move against his will.

However, the strange black face was able to move freely, even holding a conversation with him.

Apart from that, there was also that ominous feeling, which he was still sensing from the black wisps of smoke oozing out of the face.

Each time the smoke opened its mouth, an even more powerful wave of it washed over him, sending chills down his spine.

’What exactly is going on here?’ Leon thought, tightly clenching his hands into a tight fist.

With the way everything seemed, he seriously doubted meeting this strange creature would result in anything good.

Although he hated to admit it, he didn’t see any other way to escape his strange predicament... other than having to fight against it.

"H-how... did you know I’m a t-time Elementalist?" Leon asked, summoning up courage he didn’t even know he had.

"Hmm, you tell me... maybe it’s because you froze time in this whole area?" The smoke said, shaking his head like he was in wonder. "You’re not very bright are you?"

Leon’s eyes narrowed into a deep frown, and he subconsciously clenched his fists even tighter.

’It’s mocking me...’ He thought, feeling a strange sense of annoyance well up within him.

Seeing how the smoke nonchalantly ignored his previous question, he could already see that trying to ask about it was or how it came here wouldn’t bear any fruit.

The more he stared into the smoky face, the more it became clear to him that the only way out of this would be to fight.

However, that in itself posed a huge problem for him.

Due to time freeze being active, his energy was being drained at a rapid rate, and he seriously doubted he hold up the skill for even a few more minutes.

So taking that into consideration, he was already at a huge disadvantage if he tried engaging the strange creature in a fight.

Apart from that, time freeze, speed-up and snail’s world were the only skills he could currently perform with his element.

Since he only awakened it recently, he hadn’t unlocked more ways in order to use his power.

And unfortunately for him, time freeze was practically useless against this opponent, meaning he could only use the other two.

However, before he could do that, he would have to first cancel out the presently active skill, in order to preserve enough energy to activate another.

’But... that isn’t a choice!’ Leon thought, the frown on his face deepening even further.

Doing so would put him in a terrible predicament, one that might even be worse than his current one.

If time freeze was canceled, and the flow of time on the floor returned to normal, he was sure to be found out immediately.

How was he supposed to explain himself... starting from how he managed to get in here without any one noticing, or the strange smoky face standing in front of him?

He was in a really terrible spot, with nothing else to depend on except from his luck and his almost-drained energy.

Although numerous thoughts kept flashing through his mind, in reality only a few seconds had passed, and he along with the strange face had been simply staring at each other.

"How did you do it?" The mouth of the face spoke up once more, sending thin wisps of black smoke rising in the air.

’What’s it talking about?’ Leon thought, his eyes narrowing in confusion.

"Forget about all that..." The smoky face said, the corners of its lips slowly curling into a sinister smirk.

Leon wasn’t sure why, but the sight of that smirk made him feel very uneasy, and his eyes narrowed deeply.

However, as Leon kept staring at it, he suddenly noticed a few wisps of smoke rapidly freezing up at the edges of the face.

’This!’ He thought, a strange glint flashing across his eyes.

"You’re mine to devour!!" The smoky face abruptly roared, charging at him at rapid speed.

’Fast!!’ Leon thought, subconsciously swinging his hand towards the incoming smoke.

However, his hand simply phased through the smoke, roughly scattering it to the sides.

Before he could react, the black smoke slammed into his face, sinking into his head almost immediately.

’W-what?!’ Leon eyes immediately widened in shock, his hands tightly grabbing his face.

"Where did it go...?" He muttered, frantically rubbing his hands all over his face.

The black smoke which was just in front of him a few seconds ago, was nowhere to be seen!!

The last thing he could remember was the smoky face suddenly flying towards him and he could have sworn it hit his face... so where the hell was it?!

Despite touching his head repeatedly, he couldn’t feeling anything, like nothing happened at all.

’What... is going on?’ Leon thought, his body trembling slightly.

What scared him the most was the sudden disappearance of the smoke, making him feel like he had been hallucinating everything up to this moment.

’D-did that ’thing’ go... into my body...?’ He thought, slowly staggering backwards, his eyes trembling slightly in realization.

The last thing he heard from the smoky face before it charged at him was something about devouring him, which felt strange to him at the time.

He didn’t understand what it meant by that, but he doubted the words "devour" translated to any good thing for him!

’Wait... my energy!’ Leon thought, swiftly placing his hand on his chest.
