Manaless Mage-Chapter 261: An angry Vordmont
Chapter 261: An angry Vordmont
The celestial swiftly shot out from the side of the fire entrapment, shooting through the air with his body doused in flame.
He gently landed on the ground, flashing a wide smirk at Leon.
His current condition seemed terrible, with his arms absent from his shoulders, and the presence of severe burns all over his body.
Swoosh!
Mana suddenly bursted out of his body, rising up in the air like a flame.
Unlike the mana of normal mages which was yellow, his had a purple tint to it, giving it a purplish-yellow hue.
The mana completely enveloped him, coating his body in a purplish-yellow aura.
Before Leon’s eyes, his injuries began to heal at an insane speed, and the burns all over his body quickly closed up.
His arms which were formerly ripped off also regenerated, growing back within seconds.
’How annoying... he can regenerate also.’ Leon thought, narrowing his eyes at the man in frustration.
He could also regenerated, however, the speed at which he did was nothing compared to what was playing out before his eyes!
Swoosh!
His bladed spear suddenly flew out of the burning volcano, flying towards him at rapid speed.
"Hah..." He sighed, swiftly gripping the butt of his spear, making a few swings with it as if to test it.
The mana aura around his body fluidly flowed down to his weapon, coating it entirely, down to the tip of the blade.
"That was an impressive attack, I guess it’s my turn now... manaless mage." Vordmont muttered, swiping his spear through the air with a wide smirk on his face.
’Seems he’s starting to take this serious.’ Leon thought, with a slight frown on his face.
The main reason he was able to quickly get the jump on him was due to the fact that he took advantage of the distraction from when he sent that other one flying.
Apart from that, he noticed that the both of them seemed very wary of him, so they were a little too careful in their approach towards him.
At first, he was confused about what that was, but after thinking about it for a few seconds, he was able to piece what really terrified them about him.
It was none other than his energy! The same way his energy could be disastrous towards normal mages, it was also the same against them.
The only difference was that unlike normal Elementalists/mages, they could actually sense his energy, so they weren’t too helpless against it.
Realising this, he also made sure to use it to his advantage, coating even his slightest attack in his energy.
Nonetheless, he was still the one at a disadvantage, especially since his energy wasn’t at its full capacity currently.
The energy dome protecting Anna, Harry and the others kept draining a considerable amount of his energy, leaving him with make deal with the one he had left.
There was also the issue of Kronos, who he was sure would eventually join the fight.
It seemed like destroying those clocks had greatly affected his strength, so he was probably somewhere recovering, which reduced the ’load’ on Leon’s head a little... at least for now.
"Fine, let’s do this." He muttered, quickly taking a battle ready stance against the opponent in front of him.
"That’s more like it!!" Vordmont shouted, charging towards him with incredible speed.
Swoosh!
He spun his spear in the air, before unleashing a swift downward strike towards Leon.
But sensing the incoming danger, Leon swiftly crossed his blades before the spear, aiming to block the attack.
However, as the two weapons were about to collide, Vordmont suddenly vanished into a thin black tear, causing Leon’s eyes to widen in shock.
He instantly reappeared behind him, swinging his blade down at his neck.
When the blade was about to hit him, Leon swiftly moved forward, his lips curling into a slight smile.
Swiish!!
Countless light crystals immediately materialised around the celestial, and his brows raised slightly in confusion.
Boom!
However, the crystals unexpectedly went up in a powerful explosion of light, trapping him right at the centre of the blast.
"Argh..." To his surprise, the explosion didn’t hurt as much as he thought it would, only blinding his sight for a brief second.
Fwoosh!
’Dragon wisp!’ Leon quickly made use of split second of confusion, sending out a small fire dragon towards the man.
Roar...
The dragon was thin and looked frail, yet, it moved through the air at terrifying speed, reaching the man in an instant.
The moment the dragon made contact with the man, it sank into his skin with a soft hiss.
"Argh!" Vordmont grunted, feeling a strange warm sensation rapidly course through his body.
"W-what... did you do?" He muttered, panting heavily as he tightly gripped his chest.
"Don’t worry, you’ll find out." Leon said, with a smug smirk on his lips.
He swiftly distanced himself away from Vordmont, however, it wasn’t to evade any attack. It was to prevent himself from getting caught up in what was to come.
"You..." Vordmont grunted, his voice straining due to the scorching sensation within his throat.
"...little shit!!" He shouted, roaring out to the heavens in agony.
Boom!!!!
A powerful explosion suddenly detonated within his body, swallowing him up in a large mushroom of flames.
BWOOSH!!
A strong gust of wind spread out from the explosion, shaking the ground with a violent roar of force.
The wind swept across the battlefield, its sheer power knocking off large chunks of the earth into the air.
However, it didn’t travel too far before it was abruptly swallowed up by time freeze. The gusts of wind came to a complete standstill, and the violent waves froze in place.
All the debris from the blast froze in the air before they could reach Leon, who simply stared at the scene with a nonchalant expression on his face.
Although Vordmont had already manipulated the space around him, rendering time freeze useless against him, the skill was still very much active.
It was only useless around Vordmont, the time in the rest of the area was still very much frozen, so the blast couldn’t travel too far.
’That should take care of you.’ Leon thought, suddenly turning his head to the side.
’I better go take care of the other one.’ He thought, summoning a pair of light wings on his back.
Whoosh!
He first flapped his wings, before flying towards the direction he threw the other celestial.
His speed was very fast, and it didn’t take long for him to finally reach her.
She hung still in the air, her expression ugly with anger.
There was two deep gashes at the side of her torso, and one on her neck, which seemed like they were caused by the attack of a wild animal, courtesy of the three water dragons.
Blood was dripping down the wounds, however, the droplets were all frozen in the air, glistening like crystals.
"Hmph!" He snorted, pointing one finger at her heart.
Back then, he purposely pushed her deep into the range of time freeze, causing her to freeze in time once again.
The only reason she broke free in the first place was due to the interference of Vordmont, and with her being so far from him, the space around her returned back to normal.
"You don’t deserve a quick death." He muttered, shooting out a thin arrow of fire towards her motionless body.
Fwoosh!
As the arrow pierced through her heart, he lifted the effect of time freeze around her, and her body immediately went up in flames.
"Argh!!!" She screamed in agony, as the flames roasted her from inside out.
"Damn you... manaless mage." Those were the last words that came out of her mouth, before her body finally went still, dropping dead to the ground.
Due to the flames, her face was left unrecognisable, as it had been melted to a fine crisp.
’Manaless mage... i really hate how they keep calling me that.’ Leon thought, gnashing his teeth in frustration.
Nonetheless, he couldn’t be too bothered about trivial things like that.
Whoosh!
He quickly fly back towards Vordmont, blasting himself through the air with a powerful burst of fire.
In a mere seconds, he reached the celestial, staring down at him with a strange expression on his face.
Vordmont was gravely wounded, with one of his hands and legs burnt to a complete crisp.
Over half of his skull was destroyed by the explosion, leaving only one barely functioning eye and a pair of charred lips.
Smoke slowly rose up from his body, as he kept panting heavily, weakly standing on one leg.
However, even that leg was severely damaged, with nothing left except from charred bones and flesh.
He held his spear in his only remaining hand, using it to support his crumbling body.
"Hmm... you’re alive. How unpleasant." Leon muttered, looking down at him with a slight frown on his face.
"Manaless mage..." Vordmont mumbled, his hand trembling as he spoke. "You... tricked me."
"Tricked you?" Leon said, raising one of his brows in surprise. "No, that’s wrong."
