Manaless Mage-Chapter 275: Learning the truth[1]
Chapter 275: Learning the truth[1]
The crack rapidly spread all around his body, with even more appearing around his torso up to his neck.
Bright white light thrummed uncontrollably within them, causing him to look like a broken bulb that was lazily pieced back together.
’I can’t stop it anymore... It’s too late.’ He thought, resigning himself to his fate.
The reason he quickly used time rewind to fix everything, was to prevent the violent storm of energy from tearing his body apart.
However, despite all his efforts, he only managed to extend the time a little, as his body still broke apart.
But even with the cracks all around his body, he surprisingly wasn’t feeling any pain.
Instead, he felt strangely invigorated, even his body was slowly tearing apart from the inside.
The rate at which the cracks spread kept increasing with each passing second, and before long, they reached his face, spiderwebbing even within his sockets.
Light violently seeped out of the cracks, reflecting so brightly all around his body.
"Well... shit." Leon mumbled, with his lips curled into a wry smile.
Shatter!
His body suddenly shattered into tiny fragments of light, each one swaying around in the air.
Though he practically exploded from inside out, there was no spill of blood, nor was there any splashing of internal organs.
All that was left of him were the light fragments, each one humming gently with power as they floated close to one another.
Unlike the green particles, which vanished after a few seconds, they showed no signs of fading away. In fact, they only shone brighter as they drifted about.
After a few minutes, the fragments suddenly froze in the air, vibrating violently as they drew closer to each other.
Like they were all pulled by an invisible force, they merged with one another, forming a long white line.
The light was about five meters in length, stretching across the sky like a comet, with a width of five centimetres.
It danced like a snake in the void for some seconds before suddenly shooting forward like a jet.
As it moved, all the green specks lingering in the void were dragged towards it, like iron to a magnet.
They all dissolved within its light, however, there was no obvious change in its appearance.
The white line shot forward, slicing through the world of darkness and emptiness with even greater speed.
It continuously rotated around the earth, its speed increasing with each rotation, but for its destination... only ’it’ knew.
Meanwhile, Harry watched in surprise as the white line kept going around the earth.
Since Leon’s body had already disintegrated, he was currently watching everything from a third-person perspective.
It was a surreal experience... He could see the mighty blue globe of the earth, as well as the moon and the stars rotating around it.
He could also see the giant sun, blazing beautifully in all its glory.
If he still had his body, he would have gasped in shock, unable to contain his excitement.
Strangely enough, he couldn’t feel the intense heat radiating from the sun, despite being a lot closer to it than he ever had in his entire life.
That was because he was basically a spirit, so he was unable to ’feel’ anything.
But he was still happy about that, after all, getting melted by the sun’s heat wasn’t something any sane person would wish for.
He couldn’t help but wonder how those who’d spent their whole lives dreaming about travelling to space and getting this close to the sun would feel if they could ’see’ him now.
The scene was nothing short of breathtaking, however, at this moment, all he focused his gaze on was the radiant white streak coiling around the earth.
That streak looked strangely familiar to him, and after racking his brain for a few seconds, he finally remembered.
It was the same white streak he saw in the sky during that mana beast attack!
Back then, he simply ignored it, thinking it was just a figment of his imagination, formed due to his life being in danger.
Now, looking at the same streak coiling around the earth, Harry realised that what he thought was a hallucination had actually been real!
Suddenly, a bright white light violently burst out of it, immediately swallowing up the whole earth.
The light rapidly spread, swallowing up the whole universe also—planets, stars, comers, everything was shrouded within its light.
’What?!’ The explosion was so fast, that Harry couldn’t even react. All he saw was a radiant light, which suddenly clouded his vision, temporarily blinding him.
Suddenly, the scene in front of him completely changed.
He wasn’t floating in space anymore, this time, he was falling through the clouds at terrifying speed!
’H-huh?!!’ He thought, staring at the thick clouds in confusion as he swiftly sped past them.
’How the hell did I get here?!’ His thoughts raced as he rapidly neared the hard ground below.
With him rapidly plummeting from the skies, it was hard to focus on anything else.
Though he didn’t actually have a body, so he wouldn’t be able to feel the impact even if he indeed crashed straight into the hard ground, he still didn’t want that to happen!
’Damn it! Stop... just sto—’ He abruptly came to a halt in the air, causing his thoughts to freeze in shock.
He came to a stop at a point where he was far away from the clouds, yet still far away from the solid earth.
However, he was now able to see the ground a lot more clearly than before. Despite still being so far away, he could somehow observe everything with an eagle’s eye.
’That... was scary...’ He mumbled inwardly, wiping away the imaginary sweat pooling around his ’forehead’.
Now that he was no longer free-falling, he could now carefully observe his surroundings without any disturbance.
The first thing he noticed were the obviously old and outdated building structures, ones that date back centuries in the history of the world.
There were also zero hover cars in sight, with all of the vehicles moving on tires, something that was usually very rare.
The street was bustling with people, most of them chatting excitedly while the rest just went about their business.
’Just where... have I landed?’ Harry thought, staring around at everything going in confusion. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
Even the people walking about were dressed strangely, making them all look somewhat dumb to him.
His gaze suddenly landed on a large billboard some distance away, and he subconsciously placed his attention on it, hoping to gain more information about wherever he was.
The billboard was advertising a promo for another ancient model item, this time, a television.
However, what caught Harry’s attention wasn’t the details of the promo, instead, it was the year written on the advertisement.
’Wait... 20..15?2015?!’ He thought, taking a second look at the date in disbelief.
