Manaless Mage-Chapter 295: Claiming the No 1 spot
Chapter 295: Claiming the No 1 spot
Apart from that, there was also something he said that sent chills down the spines of the student.
Though normally, a token was worth ten points, the case was very different if the owner of the token had also acquired some points of their own.
Scanning someone’s token, meant all their accumulated points would become yours.
They would be added to the normal ten provided by the token, which would then provide a huge point boost, shooting one up the ranks.
But then, the man wasn’t done listing out the rules of the round, and his next words shocked the students to their core.
[Note that only the top twenty students with the most points will be able to advance to the next round!]
[All the others would be eliminated, and their points would be rendered invalid.]
Immediately, murmurs of discontentment started rising from the students, but one release of the adventurer’s pressure quieted them down almost instantly.
’Only the top twenty huh...’ Harry thought, his lips curling into a slight smirk. ’The competition sure will be tough.’
The instructors words meant students would have to actively hunt themselves if they wanted to gather enough points to qualify for the next round.
There were over seven hundred Elementalist participating in the first round of the tournament... out of which only twenty could qualify, while the remaining hundreds would be eliminated.
It surely wouldn’t be easy, as no one would want to willingly give up their tokens, which would result in a tough fight between the Elementalists.
The ones at the top would also have to watch out, as one act of carelessness could result in all their points getting snatched from them.
Fortunately for the students, there was a safety measure built in their wrist watches, which would instantly teleport them out of the forest in near-death situations.
The teleportation would also activate if the participant had already accumulated too many injuries, to the point where their life was threatened.
If a student also wanted to drop out of the round, they could just tap the button beside the watch, and they would also be instantly teleported out of the beast forest.
These safety measures were the only reason most of them would even dare join this tournament, as they were already sure that no matter what, at least they’d be alive.
[Now, you’ll all be teleported to random locations within the forest. Good luck!]
Just as he finished speaking, the watches on their hands lit up with a bright blue light, and all the students vanished from the field, leaving nothing but tiny blue particles floating in the air.

Harry’s vision twisted and warped, and the next thing he knew, he was standing in an entirely different place.
The ground below him was a bit soft and damp, and towering him were giant trees, their broad leaves casting a gentle shade over his body.
He could see those same drones he saw before floating in the air, capturing everything that was happening.
But the ones that stood out to him in particular were the larger drones, which displayed the point ranking of the rank on a blue and white holographic screen.
"Wow..." He mumbled, staring at the device on his wrist in awe.
’Instant teleportation... how amazing.’ He thought, chuckling to himself.
It felt like one second, he was standing in the field along with the rest of the participants, and in the next, he was already in the forest.
Though he had heard many times that the central continent were far more advanced in technology, experiencing it still felt surreal.
Growl!
Growl!
Growl!
Three loud growls suddenly sounded around him, and from the bushes emerged three large wolves.
They had thick, white fur, with a few patches of black here and there around it.
Though they looked like normal wolves, they abnormally large heads and the four sharp canines protruding from their jaws said otherwise.
The fangs glistened with their spittle, gleaming with a deadly light.
The wolves slowly circled him, baring their fangs at the intruder who suddenly appeared in their turf.
’Tsk... such terrible luck.’ Harry thought, but the wide smirk on his face betrayed his thoughts.
He swiftly scanned the wolves surrounding him, getting a good gauge of their strength.

’Giant head wolves...’ He thought, looking at the information displayed by the system.
He then caught sight of a small white token hidden deep within the fur of the wolves, and the smirk on his face widened in excitement.
’A token!’ He thought, his eyes locking unto that card.
Fortunately, his perception was also very high, so he was able to easily notice the token, despite it being buried within the beast’s thick fur.
It seemed like the AMO had taken into consideration how dangerous it would be for any unlucky student that landed here, so they planted three tokens on the beasts’ bodies to serve as a form of compensation for the trouble.
He had to admit, if it were any one else in his situation, then that person could count himself already eliminated from the competition.
However, he wasn’t just anyone. With how much he had grown and evolved, stage three mana beasts no longer stood a chance against him; no matter how many they were.
Growl!
The wolf on the left suddenly lunged at him with an angry growl, opening his jaw wide to bite on his torso.
Swoosh!
But just before the wolf could get him, Harry suddenly leapt over five meters in the air, causing the mana beast to crash into the damp ground instead.
’Super jump... what a great skill.’ Harry thought, looking down at the pack of wolves beneath him, who now seemed a lot smaller due to the height difference between them.
’Lightning Arrows.’ He thought, summoning three long, sharp arrows of lightning with a simple wave of his hands.
Blitz!
The arrows suddenly shot towards the wolves below at terrifying speed, leaving a sharp trail of blue lightning as they moved.
Within an instant, the arrows closed in on the wolves, piercing through their heads and then pinning their bodies to the ground.
They couldn’t even react to the attack, dying pathetically without the chance to fight back.
Thud!
Harry gracefully landed in the middle of the dead beasts with a soft thud, the impact of his landing bringing about a small cloud of dust.
’That felt... nice.’ Harry thought, exhaling as he cracked his fingers.
He then moved towards the body of the first wolf, retrieving the white token inside its fur.
He calmly placed the token on top of his watch as they had been instructed to, and a white line shone on the card, scanning it.
Beep!
A low beep sounded from the watch, and the card rapidly disintegrated into tiny particles.
However, a smile tugged at his lips as he stared at the new number displayed on the screen of the watch: 10 points.
Without wasting any time, he scanned the two other tokens from the wolves bodies, earning an extra twenty points.
At that moment, the ranking displayed on the holographic drone took a drastic change, as an unexpected name appeared at the top.
[No 1: Harry Ainsworth from Vane Academy: Thirty(30) Points.]
