Manaless Mage-Chapter 299: A crazy Trent[1]
Chapter 299: A crazy Trent[1]
Bonny’s arms trembled as he stretched them outwards, eyes still fixed on Trent’s haunting figure.
The rage in his chest burned hotter with every breath, and his clenched fists now dug into his palms.
He looked down at Sonny’s limp form on the ground—his chest was rising and falling faintly. He was alive... but barely.
"You’ll pay for this," Bonny growled, his voice low but laced with fury. "I swear it..."
He stomped his right foot into the ground, and the earth immediately began to rumble.
"Walls Arise!!"
Boom!
The ground quaked violently, splitting open as pillars of solid earth exploded upwards with tremendous force.
One after the other, massive walls emerged in a circular formation around Trent—each one towering high into the sky like ancient castle battlements.
There were at least ten of them, each thick enough to withstand a cannon blast, their edges sharp and their surfaces glowing faintly with runes.
Dust and dirt sprayed in all directions as the walls locked into place, surrounding the battlefield like a colossal arena.
The forest trembled under the sheer weight of Bonny’s earth magic, the birds having long since fled from the unsettling aura now thick in the air.
Each wall was at least ten meters tall and five meters wide, thick as a boulder and reinforced with countless layers of compacted earth and rock.
They weren’t just normal barriers—these were weapons, projectiles, shields, and prisons all in one.
And yet... Trent didn’t even flinch.
He still floated a few feet above the ground, head hung low, with his arms dangling limply.
His eyes remained pure white, devoid of emotion or recognition.
His body swayed slightly, but it was the large tentacles sprouting from his body that moved the most—writhing through the air like serpents, pulsing with energy.
"I... won’t... lose..." he mumbled again, his tone lifeless but resolute, as though chanting a belief etched deep within his soul.
Bonny gritted his teeth. That reaction—or rather, lack of one—only angered him more.
"You cocky bastard..." he muttered. Then louder, he shouted, "You think you’re untouchable just because of that strange power?! Let me tell you something!"
He raised one hand, then pointed a thumb at himself.
"In my academy... I’m called the Wall Master!"
He let those words hang in the air for a moment, his voice echoing off the earthen walls.
"None of your kind could even scratch my walls! You could train for ten more years, and you still wouldn’t come close to beating me!"
Crack!
The walls rumbled again, responding to Bonny’s command.
"Let me show you why I earned that title!" he roared, thrusting both hands forward. "Wall Charge!!"
Boom!!
Three of the massive walls jolted from their positions and launched toward Trent at breakneck speed.
The sound they made as they tore through the air was like that of thunder crashing from the heavens.
Each wall moved so fast it looked like a blur of stone, aiming to crush Trent from multiple angles.
But then... Trent moved.
Fwoosh!
One of his tentacles twisted sideways and swatted the first wall with inhuman strength.
Crack!!
The entire wall shattered into large chunks of stone, breaking apart like a brittle biscuit under the force of the swing.
The debris flew in all directions, smashing into nearby trees and exploding into dust.
Before Bonny could even react, the second tentacle lashed out.
Crash!!
The second wall met the same fate, this time disintegrating into pebbles before it even got within three meters of Trent’s body.
Bonny’s jaw dropped.
"What...?"
He hadn’t even seen the full motion—just the blur of water and the explosive sound of destruction.
The third wall came in from behind Trent.
But this time, one of the tentacles tilted upward, forming a narrow nozzle at its tip.
Fwshhh!
A spiraling stream of high-pressure water blasted out of it, gleaming with blue energy and roaring like a geyser under pressure.
The stream shot forward like a laser beam and struck the wall dead center.
Crack!!
A huge hole instantly drilled through the middle of the wall, and a second later, the force of the water tore through the rest of it.
The entire wall was obliterated, scattering as though it had never been there at all.
But the stream didn’t stop there.
It arced to the right, slamming into another wall in the arena and puncturing it effortlessly, breaking off the top half in a violent explosion of earth and dust. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
"Two at once..." Bonny muttered, his voice trembling. "H-he destroyed two walls at once..."
For a second, he couldn’t move.
His heart pounded heavily in his chest, and a cold shiver ran down his spine. These walls weren’t weak.
They weren’t makeshift barriers. Each one had taken hours of mastery and training to perfect—and yet, Trent was destroying them like paper with a flick of his wrist.
"Is he... even human right now?" Bonny whispered.
But Trent didn’t answer.
He remained suspended in the air, head still hanging, his limbs still limp. The tentacles around him twitched slowly, dripping water from their tips.
"I... won’t... lose..." he repeated again, this time with a slightly deeper tone.
Bonny snapped out of it.
"No... I’m not done yet!" he growled. "You might have wrecked a few of my walls, but let’s see how you handle all of them!"
He threw his arms up.
"Wall Rain!!"
The remaining six walls trembled violently, then lifted from their places, one after the other. They hovered in the air around Trent, encircling him like a meteor storm waiting to crash down.
Bonny’s eyes flared with fury.
"Crush him!!"
Boom!!
All six walls shot down like meteors, each aiming for Trent from a different direction—top, sides, back, front, diagonal. The force of their movement caused the ground to split further, and the wind howled with the pressure they carried.
"Let’s see you stop this..." Bonny muttered.
But once again...
Trent reacted.
Swoosh!
His tentacles expanded outward all at once, forming a spinning shield around him.
Bam! Bam! Bam!!
The walls collided with the water shield and exploded instantly upon impact. The combined shockwaves caused the forest to tremble, sending gusts of wind across the trees and shaking the ground like an earthquake.
Boom!!
A final burst of mana erupted from the center, pushing away the dust and rubble.
When the air cleared, Bonny saw it.
Trent was still floating.
Still intact.
And his white eyes were now slightly glowing.
"H-how...?!" Bonny stumbled back. "He destroyed... all of them?!"
He could barely believe what he was seeing.
His greatest spell—his proudest technique—had been rendered useless. Every wall had been destroyed, and Trent hadn’t even moved from his position.
Bonny’s heart sank as the realization hit him.
This wasn’t a normal battle anymore. This wasn’t about who was stronger or faster. Trent was on another level... something beyond logic or training.
Something unnatural.
Something terrifying.
Still, he clenched his fists.
He wasn’t going to give up. Not now. Not after what Trent did to Sonny.
"I’m not done..." he muttered, blood dripping from his lip as he bit down hard. "Even if I have to bring this whole damn forest down, I’ll stop you!"
But even as he shouted those words, a part of him trembled.
Because deep down... he wasn’t sure anymore if he could stop him.
