Marriage Alliance With The Lycan Monarch-Chapter 50: Sharing A Bed
Chapter 50: Sharing A Bed
Stillness ensued, a long, unbearable minutes of it, and I pondered what was going through Drevon’s mind, not until he spoke.
"We’ll discuss this later. You can leave now."
"My liege."
I watched Garrick’s shadow bow before walking to the door, and it slammed shut right after.
Drevon’s shadow turned, and I could tell he was watching me. I was still in a lying position, so he couldn’t tell I listened, right?
"Can’t sleep, little wife?"
My blood ran cold. Of course, he knew! I heard his footsteps come closer, and I sat up, resting my back on the headboard.
The drapes spread open and revealed Drevon. He tipped his head and gave me one of his sweetest smiles, which got my heart racing.
"I’m more than thankful you finally ate something."
"I only ate because I didn’t want you to spoon-feed me like a child," I confessed, just thinking about it made me shiver slightly.
"That’s too bad. I was looking forward to it. But then, do I have to rock you until you sleep?" He took off his linen shirt.
No warning at all! My face flushed as his muscles tautened when he slipped off the sleeves. I quickly looked away before my eyes fell out of their sockets.
"W-What are you doing?!"
"Getting ready for bed," he answered so casually, and I found myself panicking.
In the past week, he had spent his time on his desk, and I mean all through the night. Why did he suddenly decide he needed sleep? I thought Lycans don’t get tired!
"Do you have to do that with your shirt off?" I asked, irritatedly.
Drevon shrugged those broad shoulders of his, and I found it difficult to breathe. "I sleep better with them off."
"That is very...knowledgeable."
He grinned, sitting on the bed. "Don’t worry about me, little wife, I don’t get cold and I can keep you warm all night."
I returned his grin, but my action spoke otherwise as I clutched the pillows to divide the space. Thank the gods there were so many of them. This bed might be impossibly large, but it had oddly gotten smaller with him here.
Drevon sharpened his gaze. "What are you doing?"
"Getting ready for bed, too," I replied.
I wouldn’t have resorted to this and just simply gone back to my quarters, but I can’t, not after what happened there.
Drevon’s bed chambers were now the safest place for me in this entire castle. If I’m going to survive the night with this man, then I must do this.
When the pillows were in place and a perfect line to divide us, I smirked in accomplishment, but it faded when I noticed Drevon had a frown on his face.
He looked weirdly cute with that look; it was almost as if he was pouting like a wounded puppy.
"Why is your face like that?" I asked innocently. "Is the line not straight enough? I can make it better."
I measured the pillows to make sure the line was just right, the blankets were big enough, but I had it on my side of the bed. Well, he did mention he doesn’t get cold, so we were good.
"Is this necessary, Eloise? Dividing the bed is too much."
"What? Haven’t you ever slept in such a space?" I stretched my head to see, and I clicked my tongue while giving him a disheartening look. My bed back in Beloria was smaller compared to this.
"You will be fine. That’s enough space to fit two people." I exhaled, shaking my head. "You’re so greedy."
He raised an eyebrow in response, almost as if I was behaving unbelievably.
I waved my hand and lay down, covering myself, snuggling into the sheets. "Good night."
I closed my eyes, but the eyes puncturing my back disturbed me. It felt like a deadly predator was marking its prey.
"Good night, my liege!" I said louder this time, hoping the message was passed.
But I got frustrated when he had yet to stop. Ugh! This beast!
I shot up in a sitting position, and I snapped my eyes at him in anger. "Good night means Good night!"
"I finally decided to get some rest, and my wife thinks it’s wise to divide the bed? Don’t you think that’s heartless?"
"Husband," I said sweetly, but my expression was far from it. "What are you expecting, some kind of reward?"
I pointed to his side of the bed and then mine. "You stay there and I stay here, is it that hard?"
I noticed his eyes darkened to the point that the colors drained from them, but I was oblivious and continued.
"No touching, I’ll sleep here and you—"
I couldn’t finish because my body lost gravity, but soon after, no less than a second, my back met the bed.
What just happened?
Drevon was on top of me, between my legs, and the only space that kept him from crushing me was his hand braced above my head.
This position. It was far too intimate, too...I swallowed a lump in my throat.
"You called me husband," he said softly, doing nothing to hide the desire swirling in his eyes. My wide eyes mirror it. I should hide it away and not show him how much this affected me, but I just kept staring like a fool, a fool hopelessly bewitched.
"I..." I murmured, but it was already too late, because Drevon leaned down to me.
His lips stopped midway to mine, but that was the least of my worries, because I felt a part of him pressing into me, something I assumed was his leg.
"Y-Your leg, it’s pressing—" I froze when I felt his hand hook at the back of my knee, pushing gently to the side.
"How can you assume that it’s my leg?" he said to my lips. "Silly girl."
It wasn’t? Then—.
I gasped when the cold air kissed my thigh, and his hand grazed through it. Unexplainable sparks flew when our skin made contact, and he didn’t stop exploring without breaking eye contact with me.
My breathing hitched when his fingers brushed the heat of my womanhood.
