Married to My Ex-Fiancé's Cousin-Chapter 320 Reconciliation (3)_1
Chapter 320: Chapter 320 Reconciliation (3)_1
Ji Yunhuan climbed out of bed and brought over his breakfast. Next to it was a wet towel for wiping hands. It had to be said, the servants were incredibly considerate.
Ji Yunhuan took the towel, "Stretch out your hand."
Qi Cheng’s big hand extended in front of her.
She gently helped him wipe his hand, her gaze falling on his face, "Enjoying this?"
He watched her silently.
"Do you like me serving you like this?" she continued to ask.
Qi Cheng said, "It’s alright."
Ji Yunhuan pinched him, "Enjoy it while you can. Next time you harm yourself and get sick again, even if you die of illness, I won’t care about you anymore."
Qi Cheng gazed at her indifferently. He didn’t seem to care about her threat.
Ji Yunhuan finished wiping his hand and brought over the bowl. Today’s food was richer than last night’s, probably considering his recovery.
Ji Yunhuan fed him, "Come, eat!"
It felt a bit like taking care of a baby.
She never had the chance to take care of a child; now all her energy was focused on him.
Qi Cheng looked at her and obediently ate half the bowl, then suddenly pushed it away.
He sat up, turned to the other side, and started coughing.
A severe cold was like this. The fever went down, but it wouldn’t disappear immediately. This damned cough could torture you to death.
Ji Yunhuan sat beside him, realizing with each cough, her heart felt hammered.
The feeling was very unpleasant.
Qi Cheng coughed for a full five minutes. She handed him a tissue and saw there was blood on it.
Her eyes immediately showed worry, "Qi Cheng, are you alright?"
"I’m fine." He recovered and threw the tissue into the nearby trash can.
He looked at her again, as if nothing had happened, as if the one who was coughing up blood wasn’t him.
Ji Yunhuan reached for the cup beside her, filled with water, and handed it to him to rinse his mouth.
He stared at her, his voice cold, "Don’t look at me like I’m about to die."
"I’m very worried about you." If it was just a regular cough, it would be fine.
"It’s always like this. I’m used to it. No big deal." When he got seriously ill, it would be like this. Of course, he knew it was because he didn’t take care of his body.
In the past, his world included only himself. Women didn’t affect him.
He went to bed early every day, didn’t stay up late, exercised regularly, and carefully controlled smoking and drinking. But in the past two years, he drank more and often stayed up late. Many times, thinking of Ji Yunhuan kept him awake all night.
When Ji Yunhuan heard him say it was always like this, she found it unbelievable, "When I was by your side, you were very healthy. You weren’t like this."
She suddenly remembered two years ago, "Is it because of that time? Because you never fully recovered from that severe illness?"
"It’s not your fault." Although it was a bit of a cause, "It’s my own carelessness."
The doctor had given him many suggestions, all of which he ignored.
"But you weren’t like this before. The Qi Cheng I knew back then..."
"Do you think I’m still the same as before?" Qi Cheng glanced at her, a slight mockery on his face, "The Qi Cheng who met Ji Yunhuan is no longer Qi Cheng."
Ji Yunhuan’s heart tightened.
Seeing her guilty expression, he suddenly laughed, "Do you think I’m in this pathetic state because of you? Yes, exactly! You guessed it right. When you left the hospital, I was sick for a month before I was discharged. After getting back, the doctor told me to rest well, but I didn’t. I relied on alcohol for six months straight. So, I ended up like this! It’s all your fault. But, telling you, does it change anything? Will you feel guilty? Will this make you change your decision? Will it make you stay with me out of reluctance? Of course not! So, all these questions, they have nothing to do with you."
Originally, he hadn’t wanted to tell her these things. But thinking she didn’t seem to care about him, he didn’t bother to hide them anymore.
As soon as he finished talking, Ji Yunhuan had already thrown herself into his arms, hugging him tightly around the waist.
Because of the inertia, he stepped back and had to stretch his arms to hold her.
Even though he suffered so much for her, he still wanted to keep her by his side.
She didn’t know what else to think about him except he was foolish.
The door was knocked on. His elder brother stood at the door, looking at the two tightly embracing on the big bed, seemingly feeling that his timing was off.
Ji Yunhuan heard the knock, released Qi Cheng, and Qi Cheng also looked toward the door, seeing his elder brother. He was somewhat surprised, "Why are you here?"
Ji Yunhuan climbed out of bed, put on her shoes, and went out to the balcony.
She had just been crying; her appearance was terrible. His elder brother’s presence made the atmosphere even more awkward. She could only hide on the balcony.
The elder brother took a look at Qi Cheng, "I came to get something. Then I heard you were sick. Judging by your face, the illness is serious."
"It’s alright." The changing voice tones already betrayed his condition.
The elder brother glanced at Ji Yunhuan, who had just gone out, and asked Qi Cheng, "Are you back together with her?"
Qi Cheng saw Ji Yunhuan’s silhouette through the glass door.
Ji Yunhuan stood on the balcony. As the wind blew, her tears seemed to stop flowing. She inhaled the fresh air deeply, adjusting her emotions.
Qi Cheng looked at her and nodded, "Yeah."
"Qi Cheng." His elder brother sat down and said, "If it’s just a normal relationship, fine. But if you want to bring her back to this family, it’s impossible. You need to understand that."
Just like when his elder brother was deeply in love with Ye Suya. No matter how deeply he loved her, Ye Suya could never enter the Qi Family’s gates.
