Married To The Billionaire Alpha King-Chapter 102 - never my wife
102
~Elara’s POV
"I need to hold myself from kissing you," he said with a small smile, "so I don’t spoil your makeup."
I laughed softly, the sound bouncing off the walls and filling the space with a light warmth. "You’re ridiculous," I whispered, though my heart fluttered at his words.
"I’m ridiculous because I’m yours," he replied, leaning in for a gentle, lingering kiss. My fingers itched to reach out, to touch him, but I let him control the moment, letting the soft pressure of his lips and the warmth of his breath anchor me. When he finally pulled back, his eyes stayed locked on mine, and I felt a quiet thrill at the connection we shared.
David arrived shortly after, bowing low as always. "Alpha Darlon, Luna Elara," he said respectfully. "The car is ready to take you to the press conference."
Darlon’s hand found mine, holding it gently as we left the room. The ride was quiet but full of anticipation. I could see the city waking around us, the streets filled with people going about their lives unaware of the announcement that was about to unfold. My heart thumped in my chest as the reality of the day settled over me.
When we arrived at the venue, the cameras were already flashing, and the murmurs of the crowd swirled around us. Darlon guided me carefully to the stage, his hand firm and protective around mine. "Remember," he whispered, "just smile. We’ll take it together."
The moment we stepped into the spotlight, the room fell into a hush before the media cameras began clicking rapidly. Darlon straightened, his presence commanding and poised, before he spoke with that deep, strong voice that made everyone pay attention.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Darlon began, his voice calm but commanding, carrying easily across the room, "as many of you know, I am Alpha Darlon of the Silvermoon Pack. Today, I am proud to introduce my wife, Luna Elara, of the Blueberries Pack."
The murmurs began almost immediately, a mix of surprise, curiosity, and admiration. Cameras clicked rapidly, reporters leaned forward, and a few voices called out in excitement. I felt my heart race, my hand tightening slightly around Darlon’s, but the warmth of his grip grounded me. I could feel his calm strength running through me, reminding me that we were together, and that was all that mattered.
From the back of the room, someone whispered, "Wow... they really do look perfect together." Another voice added, "Alpha Darlon has never looked this... happy before." I blushed at the comments, feeling a strange mixture of pride and nervousness. The attention was intense, but having him beside me, his eyes never leaving mine, made it easier to breathe.
The first question came quickly from a reporter at the front. "How did you meet?" she asked, leaning forward with her microphone.
Darlon’s gaze shifted to me briefly, his eyes softening, and then back to the crowd. "It’s a long story," he said slowly, with that faint, rare smile that made my stomach flip. "But to put it simply, it was love at first sight." 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
I felt my cheeks warm as I raised my hand to rest lightly on his, squeezing gently for reassurance. "We met through the pack," I said, my voice a little shaky but clear. "It took time and challenges... but love found us, and we never let go. We fought for each other, and we’ve always stayed true, even when the world tried to pull us apart."
The room erupted into a mixture of murmurs and applause, the reporters scribbling notes furiously. Another reporter, this one leaning in with curiosity, asked, "So this is the first time the public has seen Luna Elara? How does it feel to finally reveal your wife?"
Darlon didn’t hesitate. His gaze stayed locked on me, unwavering. "It feels right," he said, his voice steady and rich with emotion. "It feels like the world is finally seeing a truth we’ve known all along. She is my Luna, my partner, my family. I am proud to show her to everyone, not as a mystery, but as the woman I love."
A soft, collective "aww" came from the crowd, some reporters whispering excitedly to each other, "They really are meant for each other," and "Look at how happy he looks." I pressed closer to Darlon, feeling his warmth envelop me like a shield against the sudden intensity of the room.
Then, a reporter with a cheeky smile raised her hand, leaning in and saying, "Well, you’ve told us about love and partnership... but can we see a demonstration? Perhaps a kiss, so we can witness your love in action?"
I felt my cheeks burn, and I instinctively glanced up at Darlon, seeing the faint twitch of a smile on his lips. He leaned down just slightly, his hand brushing my arm as he whispered softly, "Shall we give them what they want, sweetheart?"
I nodded, my voice just above a whisper. "Yes... let them see."
He bent down gently, capturing my lips in a tender, lingering kiss. The world around us seemed to fade, the clicking cameras, the murmurs, the flashing lights, all disappeared. For a few moments, there was only the warmth of him, the familiar strength and softness of Darlon holding me close.
When we pulled back, a soft cheer rose from the crowd, mixed with laughter and a few playful applause. "There it is!" someone shouted. "The perfect couple!" Another called out, "Finally! The world can see Alpha Darlon’s Luna!"
I felt a light blush across my cheeks, but Darlon’s hand found mine again, squeezing gently. "We made it," I whispered, looking up at him.
"We did, my sweetheart," he said softly, brushing a strand of hair behind my ear. "And now, the world sees us together, just as we are. Nothing can change that."
Even as the reporters shouted more questions, asking about our first moments, our packs, and how we planned to build our life together, I felt a quiet peace. For the first time, everything felt real, not the past, not the fear, not the lies. Everything had led to this moment, and we were finally here, together, unshakable.
The cheers slowly settled, but the questions did not stop. Another reporter stood up, her voice sharper, more daring than the others.
"Alpha Darlon," she said carefully, adjusting her microphone, "there have been rumors. About Princess Lira. She has been seen acting as though she was your real wife and Luna in the past. What will you do about her now that Luna Elara has been revealed to the world?"
The room went quiet in an instant. Even the cameras seemed to pause. I felt my chest tighten, my fingers curling slightly around Darlon’s hand, but he did not flinch. His grip on me stayed firm, calm, protective.
Darlon’s expression changed then. The softness in his eyes did not disappear, but something colder settled beneath it. Something serious. He turned fully toward the reporter, his voice steady and clear.
"Princess Lira was never my wife," he said plainly. "She was never my Luna. She only pretended to be something she was not."
Murmurs spread through the room again, louder this time. I could hear people whispering, shocked, confused, some even angry.
"What will happen to her?" another reporter asked quickly. "Will there be punishment?"
Darlon did not raise his voice. He did not need to. Authority lived in every word he spoke.
"She will face the law," he said firmly.
