Married To The Billionaire Alpha King-Chapter 59 - this is so cute
~59
Elara’s POV
I felt David shift beside me. He had been pretending to enjoy the game, nodding now and then as if he understood their chaotic movements. But the slight tension in his shoulders told me something else was on his mind, and when he leaned in a little, I already knew the moment of peace was about to crack.
"Your Majesty," he whispered, almost too quietly.
I turned my head slightly. "Yes?"
"There is a report from the headquarters."
I frowned because whenever he used that tone, calm, respectful, and slightly anxious, it usually meant something unpleasant waited beneath it.
"Right now?" I asked.
He nodded. "It is urgent."
I looked back toward Elara. She was clapping for Janae, who had just tripped on her own foot. Janae raised both hands in the air like someone who had just won a trophy, and the two of them laughed so loudly that one of the attendants peeped in to make sure nothing had fallen.
I wanted to stay with her. Just watch her smile for another minute. Just hold onto this quiet joy a little longer. But duty rarely waits, and problems never follow my timing.
I exhaled and nodded. "Alright. Let us step out for a moment. Do not say anything until we are alone."
We walked out of the arcade, down the silent hallway of the hotel. The lights were soft, warm, almost golden, casting long reflections on the polished floor. Once we stepped into one of the private lounge rooms, the door clicked softly behind us.
"Tell me what happened," I said.
David opened his tablet without hesitation. "There has been an online impersonation incident."
My body stilled instantly.
"Explain."
"Someone created an account pretending to be Luna Elara," he said. His voice was low, steady, and careful, like he knew I was balancing on the edge of anger. "The person posted multiple pictures and captions claiming to be your chosen woman, claiming to live with you, and claiming to be the rightful Luna."
My jaw tightened.
Hard.
"Show me," I said.
He turned the tablet toward me.
It took me less than two seconds to see everything I needed. The screen displayed an account that used Elara’s name. A collection of filtered photos of another woman posing in ways that were meant to look seductive, paired with suggestive captions such as:
His real partner.
The woman he protects.
The one he chooses when the doors close.
Each word felt like a match thrown into dry grass.
"Find the IP immediately," I said, my voice quieter than I expected.
"We already traced it."
"Good." I looked him straight in the eye. "Who is the person hiding behind that account?"
He hesitated, not out of fear, but because he knew I would not like the answer.
"David," I repeated, slower this time. "Say it."
He swallowed lightly. "Alpha... it is Lira."
For a moment, I did not speak at all. It was not because I lacked words. It was because my mind was running through every possible reaction, every possible consequence, every possible instinct. Lira had always been unpredictable, but impersonating my wife was far beyond immaturity. It was a violation. It was disrespectful. It was a delusion.
"...Lira?" I asked again, the anger creeping slowly into my voice. "She used my wife’s name?"
"Yes, Alpha. She also used her personal account."
"She claimed to be my partner?"
"Yes."
"She posted lies about my marriage?"
"Yes."
I looked away, breathing deliberately through my nose. The anger spreading through my chest was sharp, like a wire pulled tight.
"She is unstable," I finally said. "Dangerously unstable."
David stayed silent.
I straightened my posture and spoke clearly. "Take down every single post. Every image. Every caption. Every copy. I want the entire online trail erased."
"Yes, Alpha," he said immediately.
"And Lira..."
He looked at me carefully.
"She should be arrested," I said. My voice did not rise; it did not need to. "Charge her with impersonation, defamation, and harassment. Confiscate every device she owns. Place her under guarded surveillance. I do not want her anywhere near Elara again."
"Yes, Alpha."
"I want this done silently and efficiently," I continued. "I do not want anyone to disturb my wife during this vacation. She deserves peace."
"Yes, Alpha."
"And when we return..." I paused, letting the weight of my decision settle.
"...I will handle the rest personally."
David nodded. "Understood."
I left him to make the necessary calls while I took a moment to breathe. I pressed my palm against the cool wall near me and closed my eyes briefly. Elara’s happiness mattered to me more than anything else at that moment. I could not let the chaos of someone else’s obsession spill into her safe space.
When I walked back into the arcade, I made sure my expression was soft again. Elara turned instantly, waving with both hands.
"Darlon! Look!" she shouted. "I did not fall this time!"
I smiled fully because she deserved it. "I saw it. I am proud of you."
Janae laughed, tossing her hair back. "She actually followed half the steps this time."
Elara gasped dramatically. "Half? I followed at least... maybe all. Possibly."
David stepped in behind me and cleared his throat. "We can continue the game now."
"Truth or dare!" Elara announced happily.
We sat together on the couch, and the game began again.
The teasing, the laughter, the subtle blushes, and the ease between us.
It all returned like the earlier tension never existed.
Janae folded her arms dramatically. "Elara, answer the question. What is your favourite thing about Alpha Darlon?"
Elara groaned and leaned her forehead against my shoulder. "Why would you ask something like that?"
"Because it is fun," Janae replied.
I smiled. "I would like to know too."
She lifted her face, looking at me with the softest eyes. "My favourite thing... is that you always show up for me. Without hesitation. Without excuses. You stay."
My throat tightened slightly. "Elara..."
Janae giggled loudly. "This is so cute I might faint."
I wrapped my arm around Elara and pulled her closer. "I will always stay," I whispered.
She squeezed my hand, and for a moment, the whole world felt quiet.
Janae clapped again. "My turn! Your Majesty, truth or dare!"
I gave her a patient look. "Truth."
She grinned, wicked. "Do you love Elara?"
David gasped dramatically. "Janae, relax!"
Elara instantly panicked. "No, no, no, ask another question!"
Janae stared at me, ignoring her completely. "Answer."
Elara tried to stand up and run, but I caught her wrist gently. "Stay."
I didn’t even need to think about it.
"Yes," I said.
The way she froze... the way her eyes softened and widened all at once...
It shot straight through me.
David coughed awkwardly. "Okay. I feel like we are intruding. Should we go outside?"
Janae slapped his shoulder. "Will you sit down?"
Elara whispered, almost shaky, "You’re not supposed to say it like that."
"Why?" I asked quietly. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
"Because now what do I do with myself?" she muttered, almost overwhelmed. "You’ve scattered my brain."
I laughed. I couldn’t help it. "Good."
She covered her face again. "I hate this game."
"No, you don’t," Janae said. "Next question!"
David pointed at Janae. "Truth or dare, madam troublemaker?"
"Truth."
He leaned forward smugly. "Did you kiss me today because you like me, or because the spirit of romance possessed you temporarily?"
Janae gasped. "What kind of stupid question is that?"
"Answer," David said, folding his arms.
She fidgeted. Stared at her nails. Looked away. Looked back. "I... maybe... kind of... possibly like you small."
He nodded. "Good to know."
Janae blinked. "Wait, that’s all you’ll say?"
"What do you want me to say?" he asked, confused.
"I don’t know, something!" She threw her hands in the air. "React, na!"
He smiled a little. "Okay. I’m happy."
Janae froze like she didn’t expect that at all. "Oh."
Elara leaned toward me. "This is so cute."
"Agreed," I whispered.
We continued. Questions flew around the room like loose feathers.
