Marrying His Nemesis: Kicking My Scumbag Fiancé Away!-Chapter 100: Mad for Love
Outside the window is the hot spring pool.
Under the gentle moonlight, steam rises.
The villa is built along the mountain slope, and the hot spring pool is right at the edge of the cliff. Through the mist, you can see the vast night view of snow-covered cedars in the distance.
At this moment, the snow is falling heavily.
In the snowy mountain landscape, snowflakes drift amidst the mist.
Even just looking through the window, it’s a breathtaking view.
"But..." Seraphina Thorne said regretfully, "I didn’t bring a swimsuit."
"It’s just us, you don’t need a swimsuit!" Ethan Sterling stood behind her, gently resting his chin on her shoulder, "Is there any part of Mrs. Sterling I haven’t seen?"
"You rogue!" Seraphina pouted and rolled her eyes at him.
"Just teasing you." Ethan lifted his chin, "I’ve prepared everything in your luggage."
"Really?"
Seraphina turned and rushed into the bedroom, opening the suitcase delivered by the staff.
Indeed, not only was there a swimsuit, but everything from ski clothes to thick woolen socks were in the suitcase.
The swimsuit was a black, split bikini.
Seraphina rarely wore such revealing styles and looked at the small piece of fabric pitifully.
She hesitated for a moment but couldn’t resist the allure of the hot spring, so she took out the clothes and headed to the bathroom.
Of course, feeling shy about coming out like that, she wrapped herself in a thick bathrobe after changing into the swimsuit.
Ethan was standing at the bar in the living room, taking out drinks and food like fruits from the fridge.
"You head out first, I’ll join you after I’m ready."
Seraphina was eager to, quickly leaving the living room, deftly shedding the bathrobe, descending the steps, and immersing her whole body into the warm spring water.
After a moment, Ethan also came out, placing the prepared drinks and food on a wooden floating tray.
He, too, removed his bathrobe and descended the steps.
With an injured arm, Ethan didn’t go to the deep end but sat in the shallow water, resting his injured arm on the rock above the water.
"Come over and have some fruit and snacks."
Seraphina held onto the rock and came over, sitting beside him, picking up a piece of chocolate from the plate and popping it into her mouth.
"Honey, what made you think of bringing me here?"
"Didn’t you say that in such winter, one should enjoy a hot spring while watching the snow?"
Seraphina paused, then realized.
He was talking about something she mentioned in her social media a few days ago.
The two of them had each other’s WeChat, but Ethan never posted on his social moments.
He’s never even liked any of her posts.
"I thought a dominant CEO like you wouldn’t look at social moments."
Ethan poured a low-alcohol fruit wine and handed it to her.
"I don’t really look at them."
Except...
For her social moments.
Seraphina took the wooden cup, sipping lightly.
The wine was fruit wine, very low in alcohol, sweet and more like fruit juice.
Cradling the cup, she relaxed, leaning her back against the warm stone, letting out a satisfied sigh.
"So beautiful, so comfortable!"
"If you like it, we can come here every year for a stay. How about it?"
Every year?
Seraphina raised her cup, drank a little to cover her expression, and didn’t say anything.
Agreeing to date Ethan didn’t mean she truly believed they would always be together.
After her experience with Adrian Chamberlain, she’d long given up hope on forever and happily ever after.
In the past, she was young and naive, thinking losing Adrian meant losing the whole world.
Thinking back now, how childish and laughable she had been.
Carpe diem, seize the day.
If you’re happy, stay together; if not, part ways—it’s no big deal.
No one is indispensable!
Adrian Chamberlain was.
Seraphina glanced sideways at Ethan’s exquisite profile, downing the rest of her drink.
Ethan...
Is too!
Not having too many expectations means not being disappointed.
"What are you thinking about?"
Noticing her distraction, Ethan asked softly.
"Nothing much," Seraphina turned, taking the small wine pot to refill their drinks, "Come on... let’s toast, celebrating our first date!"
As she poured the wine, much of her body emerged from the water.
The clear hot spring allowed him to see through the water clearly at such a close distance.
With her long hair piled atop her head, her shoulders and neck were fully exposed.
The black swimsuit covered only the critical parts of her chest.
Her skin, naturally pale, was now tinged with pink from the hot spring.
Utterly enticing.
Ethan’s Adam’s apple moved involuntarily.
Taking the glass from Seraphina, he clinked it lightly with hers, tilting his head back to finish the drink in one gulp.
"Wife, I think my bandage is coming loose; can you come check it for me?"
Seraphina hurriedly set down her glass, moving to him.
Just as she reached out to check his bandage, Ethan’s arm stretched out, pulling her in.
Caught off guard, she fell onto him.
Propping herself up with his chest, Seraphina frowned and looked up.
"What are you doing?"
His hand, under the water, gripped her waist, and Ethan’s voice was husky.
"I missed you!"
With their bodies pressed together, even through the thin swimsuit, Seraphina could feel him distinctly.
"Then..." her voice became husky too, "shall we... head to the bedroom?"
Ethan didn’t say anything, just lowered his head to kiss her, while his hand reached over, untying her swimsuit’s strap.
The black fabric floated up, drifting on the water’s surface.
Water ripples, causing the wooden tray to sway gently.
...
Like a newlywed couple, they enjoyed these rare moments of intimacy.
The next day, Seraphina woke when the sun was already high.
Turning lazily in Ethan’s arms, she felt something on her ankle.
Raising a corner of the blanket, she saw a silver anklet with tiny blue sapphire tassels, like a string of stars.
Seraphina curled her foot up, looking at it before glancing at Ethan.
"Why did you suddenly think of gifting me an anklet?"
Ethan sat up, holding her ankle for a look.
"Because it looks good!"
"But it’s winter now, I’m not wearing skirts, who can see it?"
"No need for others to see it, as long as I can see it!" Ethan took a piece of chocolate from the plate on the bedside table, "Want some chocolate?"
Seraphina opened her mouth to receive it, but he moved his hand away.
Placing the chocolate in his mouth, he leaned down to kiss her again.
The anklet swayed, reflecting a sprinkle of light.
...
The brief two-day vacation could be said to be the happiest and most relaxing time Seraphina had experienced since her father’s incident.
These past two days, they acted like a real couple.
Enjoying hot springs together, skiing together, stargazing at the mountain’s summit, or going to the village at the mountain’s foot to shop for wild game to barbeque...
Such happiness makes one want to indulge.
Trailing behind Ethan, leaving the villa steeped in their shared memories, Seraphina felt a pang of reluctance.
Seeing her reluctance, Ethan embraced her and placed the villa key in her hand.
"I’ve contacted the owner and purchased this villa, so... we can come here for vacation anytime."
This is the kind of place one would visit occasionally during holidays.
Yet, because of her mention, he bought a vacation villa.
"You..." Seraphina turned with the key, "are you crazy?"
"I call it crazy for love!"
Ethan smiled, adjusting her scarf before turning to place the luggage in the electric car provided by the staff.
Holding the key, Seraphina stood there, somewhat dazed.
He said...
"Love"?
"Mrs. Sterling, let’s go!"
Ethan’s voice came from the car’s side.
Seraphina walked over, seated herself, and subtly shook her head.
Ethan was just joking; she couldn’t take it seriously.
In the game of love, whoever falls first loses.
She had already lost once.
This time, she must stay clear-headed and not let herself fall again.
